The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

277: Chapter 277 Demanding a TitleHan Jingyang had the confidence to protect the four Flower Fairies, regardless of whether they had ID cards or not.

With his current status, it wouldn’t be any problem at all to get a few real ID cards for the four Flower Fairies if he truly wanted to.

But it wasn’t necessary.

Although they resembled humans very closely, they weren’t truly human after all.

If that painting were destroyed, they would very likely vanish into thin air along with it.

Under such circumstances, why bother with ID cards?

Besides, the four of them could only move around inside the shop and couldn’t even step out the door, so what would they need ID cards for?

So, he couldn’t be bothered to get them.

However, just as Han Jingyang finished speaking, Zou Shuying said softly, ”Master, we would like to have ID cards.”

”Huh?”

Zou Shuying didn’t say anything else, just blinked her gentle eyes at Han Jingyang.

Han Jingyang scratched his head.

Well, looks like he had to go to the trouble.

Since they had already asked, refusing them wouldn’t really be justifiable. They didn’t want a salary, didn’t want bonuses, and didn’t even want food or drink; asking for just an ID card wasn’t excessive at all.

Who should he go to for the ID cards?

Shen Yuhai?

Theoretically, Shen Yuhai was the most suitable, given his position.

But this kind of thing was somewhat against the rules. Even if Shen Yuhai could get it done, he would be taking a certain risk. If someone reported him, Shen Yuhai’s reputation would be ruined.

Han Jingyang thought about it, took out his phone, and called Zhang Zhiyang: ”Old Zhang, are you busy?”

Zhang Zhiyang laughed heartily: ”When you call, brother, I have to rush over immediately no matter how busy I am. Brother, tell me, what’s up? If it’s about those spoils of war, don’t waste your breath; I can send another batch over in a while.”

Han Jingyang smiled: ”Let’s put the spoils of war aside for now; it’s something else.”

”Oh? Go ahead.”

”I just hired four shop assistants, and they don’t have ID cards. See if you can arrange that for me.”

”Four shop assistants?”

”What’s their background?”

”Don’t ask about that. They definitely aren’t harmful to society, and they aren’t wanted criminals or anything. Just treat them like young girls who crawled out of some deep mountain forest.”

”Young girls?”

”Yeah.”

”Brother, you wouldn’t be...”

”Clean up your filthy mind. Just tell me if you can get it done or not.”

Zhang Zhiyang laughed: ”I was even able to get weapon permits for you guys, what’s an ID card? How about this, bring them over whenever you’re free, and I’ll get it done in no time.”

Han Jingyang sighed: ”That’s the problem. They can’t leave the house.”

”What do you mean?”

”They can only stay in Jiguang Zhai.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Zhiyang became alert: ”Brother, can’t they be exposed to light?”

”It’s not that they can’t be exposed to light; it’s that they can’t leave Jiguang Zhai.”

”Can I see them?”

”Of course, anytime. Come on over.”

It only took Zhang Zhiyang twenty-two minutes to reach Jiguang Zhai.

As soon as he entered, his gaze locked onto the four Flower Fairies, Zou Shuying and the others, his eyes burning: ”Are these them?”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly.

”Do they have names?”

”Yes.”

Han Jingyang nodded at the four Flower Fairies: ”This is Director Zhang from the relevant department. Introduce yourselves.”

Zou Shuying stepped forward: ”I, Zou Shuying, greet Director Zhang.”

Zou Handan, Zou Rushuang, and Zou Feixiang also bowed, though each was quieter than the last.

In front of outsiders, the four Flower Fairies were very aloof.

After introducing themselves, they retreated back to Han Jingyang’s side.

Then Shi Xiaoya stepped out and said with a smile: ”Director Zhang, please sit. Let’s chat over some tea.”

Zhang Zhiyang sat down, but his eyes remained locked on the four Flower Fairies, his gaze like lightbulbs, as if he wanted to see right through them. A moment later, he said in a deep voice: ”They are not human.”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow: ”What makes you say that?”

”There’s no human aura about them,” Zhang Zhiyang said, picking up his teacup and taking a sip: ”Are they spirits or ghosts?”

”Neither.”

”Oh?”

”Flower Fairies.”

”Then they’re still spirits.”

”No, no, no. They aren’t the Flower Fairies you understand; they aren’t plants that have gained sentience.”

”Then what...”

”I can’t explain it clearly to you. Just treat them as plants that have gained sentience.”

”Are they Apricot Blossom, Lotus, Chrysanthemum, and Plum Blossom spirits?”

”I couldn’t tell, Old Zhang is actually a cultured man.”

Zhang Zhiyang suddenly laughed: ”What kind of cultured man does that make me? ’Amidst the sparse shadows of apricot blossoms, the flute plays until dawn’—that’s for the Apricot Blossom. ’Only the green lotus and red lotus blossoms, unfolding and closing in natural innocence’—that’s for the Lotus. ’Every family’s chrysanthemums have turned yellow, only in Liang Garden do they remain like frost’—that’s for the Chrysanthemum. ’The white dew flies with fragrance, not fitting for the times; who sent this secluded beauty to be the first to bloom?’—that’s for the Plum Blossom.”

Han Jingyang gave him a thumbs up.

He was indeed a cultured man.

These lines of ancient poetry weren’t exactly household names, and two of them were actually quite obscure.

That Zhang Zhiyang could recite them off the top of his head was truly impressive.

At least it was impressive in this day and age.

There really weren’t many people who could do that.

After chatting for a while, Han Jingyang asked directly: ”Old Zhang, can you get it done?”

Zhang Zhiyang nodded: ”Definitely no problem, but is it necessary?”

Han Jingyang smiled: ”Just consider it seeking a title for them.”

”Is it useful?”

”It’s definitely useless, but the sense of ritual must be complete.”

”You scared me; I thought the legendary ’seeking a title’ was real.”

”And you’re from the relevant department? Have some composure.”

”Brother, it’s not that I lack composure; it’s that there are too many strange things happening around you. No matter how strange something is, if it happens to you, it feels completely normal.”

Han Jingyang waved his hand: ”Don’t flatter me, I can’t take it.”

Zhang Zhiyang was very serious: ”Really, brother, just think about what you’ve done recently. You even managed the legendary Dragon Slaying; what’s helping a flower spirit seek a title compared to that?”

”Alright, alright, stop the flattery. If you can get it done, will you arrange it?”

”No problem, but,” Zhang Zhiyang chuckled: ”If I have my people make a special trip here, I need to have an explanation, right? You see...”

”What do you want?”

”A dharma instrument, a divine item personally Consecrated by you.”

”Then return my spoils of war.”

”Fine, three items.”

”It’s a deal, but no specific requests. Whatever I give you is what you get.”

”It can’t be too trashy.”

”Would I do something so tacky?”

”Hehehe, I was just saying, don’t take it to heart, brother,” Zhang Zhiyang chuckled, shifting his gaze to the four Flower Fairies, Zou Shuying and the others: ”Do you have any special abilities?”

Han Jingyang waved his hand, breaking Zhang Zhiyang’s line of sight: ”Ask me if you have questions; don’t scare them.”

”It’s not that bad, is it?”

”It is. The cultivation technique you practice is very unfriendly to them. If I weren’t here, they wouldn’t dare appear in front of you at all.”

”Is that so?”

”You don’t know what kind of cultivation technique you practice?”

”Then brother, tell me, what special abilities do they have?”

”Actually, they don’t have any special abilities; they’re just like normal people. If you want to call it special, they can help serve tea and pour water, but in other aspects, there’s not much difference from normal people.”

”They can touch physical objects.”

”Yes.”

Zhang Zhiyang narrowed his eyes: ”Where can one find such spirits?”

Han Jingyang chuckled: ”Don’t dream of such nice things; the four of them were born by pure coincidence.”

Speaking of this, he thought for a moment and sighed with feigned melancholy: ”To tell you the truth, the four of them are related to a dharma instrument. I obtained that dharma instrument, and then bet another dharma instrument; only after Consecrating both dharma instruments together were the four of them born. The risk and cost were extremely high, so don’t even think about it.”
