Chapter 14: Chapter 13: Kimchi

”So, this is a dream?”

The moment this thought occurred to Mo Ling, he realized he could wake up.

The feeling in his body was gradually returning. All he had to do was open his eyes, and he could leave this world.

But Mo Ling chose not to wake up.

’Why does this world feel so real?’

The pajamas he was wearing and the Block head were understandable.

But how could the dream construct Dawn City, a place that didn’t exist in his memories, and even let him look up real-world information in its library?

Mo Ling was completely baffled.

’No wonder so many people get lost in dreams.’

He continued reading the records and found that after Zhou Ming returned from the dream, he had also described to the Researchers how information he didn’t know had appeared in the dream.

Zhou Ming had even speculated that the dreams were all connected.

That everyone who used this method arrived in the very same dream!

But none of this had ever been confirmed.

Seeing this, Mo Ling’s heart leaped with joy.

’If that’s true, it means I can find Li Luo in this world and wake her up!’

But in a city as vast as Dawn City, how was he supposed to find Li Luo?

Recalling his own experience of nearly waking up, he came up with a plan.

A sense of incongruity.

He would create a sense of incongruity in Dawn City that everyone could see.

The moment his consciousness had awakened to the dream, Mo Ling discovered that his abnormal perception had returned, including his teleportation ability.

’But if I use teleportation now, where will the object go?’

’Inside my Block head?’

Mo Ling left the reading machine, walked out the main doors, and entered the park outside the library.

He extended his perception outward. The range hadn’t changed; it was still 11m x 11m x 11m.

Focusing on a rock, Mo Ling activated his teleportation ability.

The rock vanished.

It seemed to have fallen somewhere. Mo Ling heard a familiar metallic sound.

The sound seemed to be coming from his own head.

’Don’t tell me it really ended up in my head?’

Mo Ling focused his vision inside the Block on his head.

Passing through the metallic shell, Mo Ling arrived in a strange place.

It was a mountain range of kimchi...

A vast metal ground stretched out of sight, with endless darkness overhead.

Before him were towering mountains of kimchi, stretching into the unseen distance, with pieces of kimchi constantly tumbling down their slopes.

Mo Ling tried picking up a piece and found that the kimchi hadn’t spoiled or rotted. He had no idea how long it had been piled up here.

The unique sour smell filled the space, rushing straight to Mo Ling’s head.

The small rock that Mo Ling had teleported in was sitting on the metal ground right in front of him.

Mo Ling’s perception moved very slowly in this space. When he tried to pass through the ground, he found himself back in the park.

’What was that place just now?’

Mo Ling’s mind couldn’t wrap around it.

’Why did I end up in those endless kimchi mountains?’

Mo Ling entered the space again, picked up the rock, and tossed it out onto the ground outside.

Just like in reality, his ability was unaffected.

So he turned his attention to the kimchi.

With a familiar teleportation maneuver, a pile of kimchi appeared on the ground.

The kimchi from that unknown place had been brought out by Mo Ling.

’Could this be... the kimchi that was paid as the price for the relic, ”Dream”?’

’How did it end up inside my head?’

Suddenly, Mo Ling had a bold conjecture:

It wasn’t that the kimchi had entered his head, but that he had gone to the place where ”Dream” stored its price!

Mo Ling quickly entered the Kimchi Space again. He wanted to test something.

Walking up to one of the mountains, he aimed the teleportation frame at the massive kimchi mountain and began to expand it.

’That’s right, the maximum is still 11m.’

So Mo Ling walked into the kimchi mountain.

In the park of the Dawn City Library, people were strolling leisurely.

Suddenly, a massive cube of kimchi appeared in the center of the park’s plaza.

The rich aroma drew everyone’s attention. After appearing, the kimchi cube slammed into the ground and burst apart, sending a wave of kimchi surging toward the dumbfounded passersby.

The passersby screamed and tried to dodge, but they were still engulfed by the oncoming kimchi.

The lucky few who escaped quickly called the police.

Soon, rescue workers arrived at the scene. Enduring the smell, they began searching through the kimchi piles for people trapped underneath.

Mo Ling, completely covered in kimchi, was dug out and carried from the scene on a stretcher.

But just as they reached the ambulance, Mo Ling suddenly leaped up and, to the astonishment of the paramedics, sprinted away into the distance.

’It worked! It really works.’

The three-story-high mountain of kimchi hadn’t hurt at all when it fell on him, which made Mo Ling even more convinced that this was a dream.

In reality, when he was trapped in the Block, spatial limitations only allowed him to teleport small objects.

Now that the restrictions were gone, he could finally show what he was truly capable of.

...

In the dream world’s Dawn City, a news report was playing on an electronic screen:

”A Hunter is reportedly using a relic to cause chaos in Dawn City.”

”The suspect has been seen on top of a tall building, using a relic to create a giant cube of kimchi.”

”The kimchi cubes fall from the sky and break apart in mid-air, causing kimchi rain to fall all over the city.”

”We urge all citizens to be cautious of falling objects when going outside and to stay safe.”

”The relevant authorities are already attempting to apprehend the suspect, but have so far been unsuccessful.”

”The suspect’s appearance is very distinct: wearing pajamas, has a Block for a head, and is covered in kimchi.”

”If any citizens see a person matching this description, please report it to the authorities immediately.”

”The following is surveillance footage of the suspect.”

Li Luo was holding an electronic screen, staring blankly at the content:

A figure with a Block head snuck furtively through the back door of a high-rise, then climbed the emergency stairwell to the roof hundreds of floors up.

After a group of robot security guards discovered him, they attacked, but to no avail.

The Block-headed figure created a kimchi cube on the roof and then fell along with it.

Li Luo’s expression grew increasingly strange.

Suddenly, she heard a strange noise outside her window.

At that moment, Mo Ling was standing atop Dawn Tower, the tallest building in Dawn City.

He was preparing to create another kimchi rain, just like before.

Just as he was about to act, a head suddenly poked out from the window of what was clearly a luxurious penthouse apartment.

A Young Lady was looking at him with a puzzled expression.

It was Li Luo.

Mo Ling froze for a moment. He had planned to use the media broadcasts to get his image to Li Luo.

But he never expected that Li Luo would be living in Dawn Tower.

He quickly jumped down and landed in front of Li Luo.

Seeing Mo Ling’s appearance, the Young Lady’s expression was clearly dazed.

Seeing this, Mo Ling hurried to the table and picked up the Young Lady’s electronic screen.

He then skillfully entered the password and unlocked it.

Mo Ling typed out the information about the relic ”Dream” and handed the screen to Li Luo.

Watching her expression shift from confusion to clarity, Mo Ling knew he had succeeded.

After she finished reading, Li Luo first sized up Mo Ling’s current bizarre appearance, then asked in disbelief, ”You’re here to save me?”

Mo Ling nodded.
