Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 1685: Chapter 1291: Bodhi Sect (Part 2)

But ultimately, they were all seasoned people who had been through many storms, and soon calmed their minds.

After a moment, Xiao Yaozi sighed and said, ”The Eight Divine Generals are indeed formidable. If Royal Envoy Su hadn’t arrived in time, even if we didn’t die at the hands of Chenyue, we might have ended up dead at Huan’s hands... Thank you, Royal Envoy Su!”

Xiao Yaozi solemnly bowed to Su Yuan, feeling increasingly ashamed for previously squabbling over some Star Core distribution, trying to extract more benefits from Su Yuan and the Great Flame Country.

”Thank you, Royal Envoy Su!”

Xu Yuanzi, Xiang Wentian, and others also bowed, expressing their gratitude and admiration.

Su Yuan slightly returned the gesture and said, ”Fellow Daoists, you are too kind. This time, fighting the Grey Realm was a life-or-death struggle by masters from all sides, not something one person or one country could contend with. I hope to work together with everyone in the future to crush the Chaotic Star Domain!”

Everyone replied, ”We shall do our utmost!”

...

After the battle ended and the spoils were distributed, Xu Yuanzi and others seized the time to recover on the spot.

While guarding the alliance, Su Yuan also began to rest, refining the Star Core with the Demon Saber, and preparing for the Sky Blue Refinement...

At this moment, accompanied by a dazzling green light, Chenyue emerged from the many Glazed Glass Tree Branches.

A dark blue hue surfaced in his sapphire blue eye sockets, with an aura no less powerful than before, evidently having been forged into Sky Blue Refinement!

”Good!”

Su Yuan’s eyes sparkled, with Chenyue taking the lead, along with Bing Tong, Ruan Ruan, and Hua Tiandu, he could essentially eliminate all trouble beneath the Divine Generals for himself.

”Royal Envoy Su, do you also excel at controlling Corpse Puppets?” After resting, Xu Yuanzi came forward.

Su Yuan slightly shook his head and said, ”It’s all thanks to the merits of the Star Device Treasures.”

”That’s not quite right, the Star Device is also part of strength,” Xu Yuanzi smiled.

”I agree with Chief Xu Yuanzi’s words,” Su Yuan laughed and nodded, knowing Xu Yuanzi had something to say.

Indeed, Xu Yuanzi suddenly composed himself and said seriously, ”Royal Envoy Su, as you saw, according to Master Zhan’s communication, someone from the West Continent Bodhi Sect has also entered the Chaotic Star Domain.”

At Xu Yuanzi’s mention of this, Su Yuan’s eyes moved slightly, nodding, ”Indeed, Chief Xu Yuanzi, do you have knowledge of the West Continent Bodhi Sect?”

”I wouldn’t say that, but because our sect is closest to the West Continent, we know a bit.”

Xu Yuanzi slowly introduced Su Yuan, ”Our Southern Continent is rich with talent, with ten great sects and countless other sects;

Your Eastern Continent is equally vast and rich, with the Great Flame and Qiguang standing as two superpowers in the north and south, along with numerous countries including Huo Luo.

Whereas the West Continent, though the smallest of the four continents of the Blue Sea, has only the Bodhi Sect for countless years!”

Su Yuan was slightly surprised, ”For countless years? Even ten thousand years ago?”

”Yes, it has always been thus since ancient times.”

”I see...” Su Yuan reflected thoughtfully.

The Great Flame is far away from the Western Continent, separated by the sea with Golden Sands before the Earth Tribulation, and there are few records about the Western Continent in the Sky Patrol Department.

However, ancient texts do mention that the Western Continent has one country and one sect.

The country is Buddha Country, and the sect is the Bodhi Sect backing the Buddha Country!

But what Su Yuan did not expect was the Western Continent having had only one Bodhi Sect for such a long time since ancient times.

After pondering briefly, Su Yuan said, ”Is the Bodhi Sect truly so powerful that it has been able to quell all internal and external threats over the years, maintaining its stability?”

Xu Yuanzi replied, ”What they rely on is not strength, but faith!”

”Faith, huh?”

Winning battles in the mind is superior to winning them with force; deterrence through strength is inferior, while consensus through faith is the superior method.

If united always, naturally, internal concerns can be quelled, external foes can be expelled, and stability maintained.

But the problem is, how can an entire continent’s people maintain steadfast faith for so long!

This almost exceeds the comprehension of a normal person.

However, Su Yuan does not understand how the Bodhi Sect governs the West Continent by faith nor does he need to.

Turning to Xu Yuanzi, Su Yuan asked, ”With only the Bodhi Sect in the Western Continent, occupying the continent’s resources, I suppose it has numerous masters within?”

Though small, the Western Continent’s resources are hard to imagine.

Xu Yuanzi nodded, ”Indeed, besides common King Level Buddha Sons, the Bodhi Sect also has Four Great Heavenly Kings and Twelve Arhats, totaling sixteen ’fruit positions.’”

Su Yuan was puzzled, ”Fruit positions?”

Xu Yuanzi explained, ”The Bodhi Sect is quite different from our cultivation. To break through to the High Stage, ’Power of Faith’ must be granted by the two Sect Hierarchs personally to achieve a fruit position.”

Power of Faith...

Su Yuan showed deep thought, Xu Yuanzi had mentioned ”faith” multiple times, indicating the Bodhi Sect truly values faith.

It’s almost as if ”faith” is their core.

”Creating ’fruit positions’ using Power of Faith, one unit per position, is akin to Dragon Veins,” Su Yuan nodded slightly, understanding the fruit positions Xu Yuanzi spoke of. ”So, how do the Heavenly Kings and Arhats differ?”

Xu Yuanzi continued, ”The Four Great Heavenly Kings act as spokespersons for the Bodhi Sect’s two Sect Hierarchs, all Ninth Stage masters, while the Twelve Arhats are also High Stage King Level with profound Buddhist Law.”

Su Yuan, hearing this, couldn’t help but click his tongue, ”Such formidable strength, especially having four Ninth Stage masters even before the Beast Tribulation!”

It’s important to note that before the Beast Tribulation, the Sky Patrol Department of Great Flame only had Ling Xiao as a Ninth Stage master.

It was only after the advent of the Grey Realm that Yu Wenwuji, Fang Qingxiao, and Pang Heng broke through their limits in the disaster and achieved the Ninth Stage successively.
