“Whoa! Take him down quick!”

Jiang Fei did not know when the boss would gain another stack, and he definitely did not want to know. A second stack might already be too much. This was bad news!

“Ouwg!”

A minute later, at 22% Health Points, the boss gobbled down another cadaver.

27% Health Points!

Flesh Heap (2 stacks): Attack increased by 10%! Defense increased by 10%!

Bang!

-1,478! (Great Smash!)

Jiang Fei’s Health Points plummeted sharply!

“Cutie, you can’t take too many of those hits. We can’t keep up with the healing!” Rosette Miaomiao called out.

“Damn it! If I had been more prepared, I would have hammered together some metal shield!”

Jiang Fei helplessly stared at his Health Points that was leaking out like water. He regretted taking things for granted. He had originally gone out to the field for some light grinding, and had dressed lightly. All he had on was a full set of Level 10 Green Tier equipment. A shield was just slightly out of budget, but with it, he would not be so close to death!

“Ding! Moliere the Demon Lord is gazing upon Rosette Fox!”

“Fox, retreat. Healers, try to keep me in range of your healing. Let’s wipe those Rotten Meat out!” Jiang Fei called out.

The boss’ combination attack was Jiang Fei’s current lifeline. If its onslaught had gone on uninterrupted, Jiang Fei would have already fallen. At that moment, the boss’ Health Points had dropped to 20%. The combination skill was once again triggered. The boss stopped hammering on the little blacksmith, giving the three healers the room to catch up.

Bang!

-1,000!

Everyone had grown accustomed to the Rotten Meat situation by then, but in that case, a Magician had been rooted to the spot, while the Priests and the Knight were busy healing up Jiang Fei’s Health Points. The drop in damage output had been enough for one Rotten Meat to make it to its target. Rosette Fox received 1,000 damage, but Jiang Fei was back to full health!

“Full power, all out, no holds barred!” Jiang Fei barked. The boss had run out of skills to save itself!

“Owgh…”

The boss activated Consume for the third time. 23% Health Points! Another Flesh Heap stack!

Flesh Heap (3 stacks): Attack increased by 20%! Defense increased by 20%!

The boss’s Attack and Defense had increased once again. Jiang Fei’s Health Points rose and fall like a spasmic rollercoaster ride. It was mind-blowing!

“Everything you got!”

Jiang Fei was at the end of his rope. He was out of options, and could only try taking down the boss before it took him down.

“Ow…”

Finally, after a final Great Smash, the powerful Demon Lord let its arms hang loosely by its sides. It had been thoroughly defeated, its Health Points completely emptied out. On the other hand, Jiang Fei did not even have 300 Health Points left. One more Great Smash would have taken him out, even if the Healers worked over time.

“Rumble…”

The boss fell, like the mountain of meat that it was. The girls behind jumped and cheered for joy.

“Yay! We’ve won!” Rosette Miaomiao was as active as ever.

“Ding! Your party is the first team to clear the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Elite Mode. Please name your party!”

The system notification announced their victory, making it official.

“We did it? We actually achieved a First Clear?”

Rosette Rose did not even seem to believe her own words. She was stumbling about in a dream-like state. It was precisely what she fought for, but she was having trouble believing it.

“Hoho! I’ll name our party!” said Jiang Fei with a grin. He had already been fooled by the system announcement once. Jiang Fei was not going let the system to announce his name.

“Okay!” Rosette Rose had not yet recovered from the shock, and had nodded subconsciously to his request.

“Ding! Citywide announcement: The party “I don’t intend to stand out” has cleared the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Elite Mode. Please cheer for the party members, Verdure Glider, Rosette Rose, Rosette Dragoness, Rosette Miaomiao… Rosette Narcissus!”

The system announcement rang out like morning church bells throughout the sky of Dawnlight City. Jiang Fei and the Rosette Knighthood girls received a reward of 100,000 Experience Points and 10 Silver Coins. At the same time, the City almost tore itself apart in alarm.

“F*ck them! The f*ck do you mean “don’t f*cking intend to stand out!” How the f*ck do you call that “not standing out?!”

“F*ck me! The Normal Mode is already f*cking my brains out, and someone actually cleared the Elite Mode?”

“F*ck you! They must have exploited a bug! Those monsters are f*cking broken!”

“Ahhh, f*ck me sideways! I’m reporting the f*ck outta them!”

…

…

As the normal players continued cursing each other out, the big four were standing motionlessly. Happy Drunk, the self-proclaimed leader of the entire server had turned into a statue. It was as if the system’s announcement had stared down on them like Medusa herself!

Happy Drunk had been most smug about his own progress. Of the big four, only he had taken down the first boss. His party had struggled with the Bearmen minion, and when they came in groups of six, Happy Drunk had to switch things up in his team. He finally settled for a weird combination of four healers and three tanks to slowly bulldoze their way through the dungeon

.

Without a tough tank like Jiang Fei, three Bearmen easily overwhelmed a regular tank. Happy Drunk had been forced to roll in several tanks, at the cost of a highly weakened damage output. It prolonged fights to an extent that left the healers exhausted.

Even so, Happy Drunk was proud of getting that far. After all, even the biggest guild throughout Dawnlight City, “Magithieves” was still stuck at the first Tigermen’s boss. Slow and steady wins the race, and it’s not stupid if it works, so he saw no reason to change tactics.

But before he even got to meet the second boss, the system had sent a thunderbolt upon him. Broken was his beautiful dream. Loss, despair, humiliation all came crashing down on him.

“What the?! Who are these guys?”

Southern Azuresword could not believe his senses, but the system was impartial.

“How is that possible?!”

Daemon’s Grimace could barely speak. If anyone could clear the dungeon, only the big four could do it. But to have some unknown clear it by such a huge gap? They had not even broken through the first boss, yet these guys have already cleared the dungeon. What a slap to the face!

“It’s that Verdure Glider guy again! He must have caught on to a major exploit!” Lady Casanova mumbled furiously.
