The Almighty Ring

As per usual practice, Jiang Fei added all his stat points to Vitality. His Health Points and Defense had grown quite a fair bit. Fighting monsters had also become far less arduous. Although he was still not yet completely free of potions, he no longer had to glug them down like consecutive shots in Oktoberfest!

Half an hour later, Jiang Fei finally came upon the second boss of the dungeon!

Clomiir (Humanoid, Elite)

Level: 18

Health Points: 3,150

Attack Power: 188

Skill: Bash, Roar, Slam, Frenzy.

Remark: Miniboss of the Demonized Bearmen. Has groundbreaking offensive capabilities. Threat level: Above average!

Clearly, this Bearmen’s boss was way more ferocious, compared to the previous Tigermen’s boss. It had much higher attack and Health Points. Besides, the mysterious ring actually deemed it to have an above average threat level!

“Alright, let’s give it a shot!” Jiang Fei had already cleared the dungeon up to this point. He was not one to lay down without first trying. Besides, the death penalty within dungeons was not as severe. If a player died in regular maps, he would lose an entire level. Even if a healing class resurrected him, he would still lose 50% of that level’s Experience Points. The death penalty within dungeons was way lower. It only entailed a loss of 20% Experience Points. This also served as an incentive for players to challenge dungeons. If stepping into a dungeon risked the loss of their hard-earned levels, why even try?!

Dash!

Jiang Fei went right up to the Bearmen’s boss. It was just a named elite boss. It was not strong enough to be immune to disabling skills, and thus, it could be staggered and interrupted. Jiang Fei’s first strike had locked it down in a 2-second stun duration!

Iron Fist!

-300!

Blazing Hammer!

-552! (Critical hit!)

-10 (Lifesteal)

-20 (Laceration, 2 stacks)

Jiang Fei went all out while the boss was still stunned. The critical hit from the Blazing Hammer had come as a pleasant surprise. Along with the damage from that prior Iron Fist, the boss had lost a third of his Health Points!

However, his subsequent normal attacks were somewhat embarrassing. They averaged at around 20 points of damage. It was simply disastrous and barely watchable. Fortunately, the Lifesteal and Laceration effects were still keeping up the damage output!

“Ow!” After 2 seconds, the boss regained consciousness. The spike in damage output had sent the boss into an immediate frenzy!

-187!

The boss’s entire body started glowing red. Its attack value had multiplied. With one Bash, it had dealt almost 200 damage on Jiang Fei!

“Roar!” As if triumphant with his counterattack, the Bearmen’s boss let out a furious roar. Grey light flashed through Jiang Fei’s body. He looked at his own attack value. It had dropped to 12!

The boss’s Roar could drastically weaken a player’s attack. But this skill was really too much of a waste to be used against Jiang Fei. Jiang Fei’s attack originally sucked, to begin with. Reducing his attack was pointless!

-1!

-10 (Lifesteal)

-30! (Laceration, 3 stacks)

As expected, Jiang Fei’s normal attacks no longer penetrated the boss’s Defense. But the special effects from Lifesteal and Laceration were still as

lethal as ever!

As the man and bear fought on, the Laceration effect on the boss was now at 10 stacks. However, Jiang Fei’s Health Points was now below 50%. He had already started drinking potions!

Blazing Hammer!

-247!

After Jiang Fei leveled up, his Vitality had once again increased. In extension to that, he had gained even more hitpoints. The damage by the Blazing Hammer had also relatively shot up! At the same time, the Laceration count was up to 10 stacks. The bleeding effect of 100 damage per second turned out to be rather impressive!

As the battle progressed, both sides traded heavy blows. Even though Jiang Fei had begun drinking potions, he was quickly losing ground. Even his recovery effect from Lifesteal barely helped!

This was even when the boss’s frenzy was unsustainable. Otherwise, Jiang Fei would have long been bear-slapped to death!

“Roar!” Just when the boss had only 20% Health Points remaining, it suddenly swooped over towards Jiang Fei. Its entire gigantic body rose in the air and attempted to frog-splash Jiang Fei!

“Bang!”

-325!

You have been stunned!

Jiang Fei had no way of reading ahead of that move. He was caught like a deer in the headlamps of a car. Besides, he was not an Agility-type class. Even if he wanted to, he would not have been able to evade it!

A huge damage value that exceeded three hundred, as well as a 1-second stun left Jiang Fei immobilized, allowing the boss to land yet another merciless blow!

-112!

“F*ck! This is insane!” When Jiang Fei recovered, he was already below 300 Health Points. On the other hand, the boss’s Health Points still exceeded 700!

“Argh, YOLO!” Jiang Fei roared. Desperately, he swung his Blacksmith Hammer at the boss’s head!

Blazing Hammer!

-237!

“Oh wow, what a godsent!” Just as Jiang Fei was worried about not being able to last another two hits from the boss, he suddenly realized that Iron Fist had already cooled down!

Iron Fist!

-300!

-100

Right after Iron Fist, the bleeding icon reappeared on the BOSS’s head!

“Ow…” Along with a mournful howl, Clomiir the Demonic Bear keeled over and died!

“Ding! You have killed Clomiir, the Demonic Bear. 5575 Experience Points obtained!”

“Ding! You have killed all the bosses of “Deep in the Night Forest” (Normal). You have cleared the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Normal Mode!”

“Ding! Your party is the first team to clear “Deep in the Night Forest” in Normal Mode. Please name your party!”

“Hide the name!” Jiang Fei intended to remain low.

“Ding! Citywide announcement: The party team “Hide the name” has cleared the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Normal Mode. Please cheer for the team members, “Verdure Glider!”

“Ding! Citywide announcement: The party team “Hide the name” has cleared the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Normal Mode. Please cheer for the team members, “Verdure Glider!”

“Ding! Citywide announcement: The party team “Hide the name” has cleared the dungeon “Deep in the Night Forest” in Normal Mode. Please cheer for the team members, “Verdure Glider!”

The announcement was repeated thrice. The entirety of Dawn Break City fell into a sudden silence. Not only were the rest of the players were dumbfounded, but Jiang Fei was probably the most alarmed. F*ck! I asked you to HIDE the name, not NAME it that way!

Jiang Fei had never expected such a sophisticated system to be this idiotic. He was commanding it to HIDE the name of his party, not NAME his party HIDE THE NAME!

“What the f*ck! There’s a dungeon?”

“F*ck! There’s a dungeon! Hurry, send someone to search for it!”

“So, someone found a dungeon and even solo-ed it! That’s insane!”

Ordinary players merely started discussing about the matter. Those who knew Jiang Fei had turned into a jumble of nerves!

“What’s going on? Isn’t that Verdure Glider a Blacksmith? How did he actually solo the dungeon? What the heck?” Southern Azuresword muttered to himself, his eyebrows furrowed.

“This guy is quite something! He’s able to play a crafting class to such an outrageous extent!” Daemon’s Grimace husky voice sent goosebumps across the skins of every onlooker around him!

“HAH! HAHAHA! Interesting! Looks like I’ll have to pay more attention to this Verdure Glider in the future!” Zui Xiao Yao smiled. His interest had most definitely been piqued!

“Little brother, you’ve truly got me worried! Where the heck do you find a forge with such a freak?” Lady Casanova muttered to herself, flicking the blood and gore off her mace, right after extricating it from the bashed skull of a Level 22 monster.
