My Sister Insisted on Swapping Marriages, and I Became a Marchioness Instead

Chapter 430: Chapter 430: It’s Just You Who Has Been Wronged

The little maid was called in and, seeing the Marquis inside, didn’t dare to lift her head, feeling uneasy.

Qin Yuan asked, ”Is Treasure Bead alright? Was she beaten badly?”

The little maid said softly, ”Seventh Miss said if the Madam asks, just say the Old Madam scolded fiercely and the beating wasn’t light, but not too severe either. If the Madam feels sorry for her, she could share some of the ointment the Marquis used the last time he was hit.”

Gu Jinghui coldly interrupted, ”She knows everything, doesn’t she?”

Qin Yuan chuckled and glared at him, saying, ”Your mistress knows quality items; this ointment is so good that even the Marquis praises it. Compared to the ointments from the army, they can’t compete. It’s a recipe handed down through generations from Renhe Hall, and there’s only half a jar left.”

As she spoke, she instructed Mo Zhu to go inside and find the ointment for the little maid.

She then asked the little maid, ”Do you want someone to invite Doctor Li over to take a look?”

The little maid shook her head, ”Seventh Miss won’t agree to invite him; she’s been beaten before.”

Showing a look of accustomed resignation.

Qin Yuan couldn’t help but laugh.

If it were in the Qin Family, if she’d been treated like this, who knows how much she’d cry.

Gu Baoshu is truly carefree, not taking it to heart at all.

Mo Zhu brought the jar and handed it to the little maid.

The little maid thanked them and left.

Gu Jinghui said, ”Tch, seeing me is like seeing a ghost, am I really that frightening?”

Qin Yuan replied, ”Not entirely frightening.”

Gu Jinghui waited for a while, without hearing anything more, feeling somewhat disappointed, he asked, ”That’s it, nothing more?”

Qin Yuan mischievously winked, ”You’ve got nothing else, how could I have anything else?”

Gu Jinghui found it both funny and helpless, gently poking her nose, saying, ”You’re being mischievous, see when I’ll sort you out.”

Qin Yuan blushed slightly.

Marquis Gu feels a flutter in his heart. He was about to do something but paused, and soon the little maid’s voice was heard from outside again.

Marquis Gu was irritated and gritted his teeth, ”What is Gu Baoshu up to now?”

Then Hong Mian entered to report, ”Madam, someone has come again from Seventh Miss’s side.”

Qin Yuan laughed, ”I guessed she’d come again, didn’t expect it so soon, let her in.”

Hong Mian laughed, ”Sister Hong Ye says Madam’s predictions are divine, I didn’t quite believe it before, but now I’m starting to.”

Qin Yuan said, ”Then wait and see if she’s here to ask for more ointment.”

”How could it be, she just asked for some earlier?”

Gu Jinghui was skeptical.

Hong Mian didn’t say anything, but her expression showed disbelief.

Qin Yuan laughed, ”Call her in and you’ll know.”

Hong Mian then went to call the person.

Qin Yuan said to Mo Zhu, ”Go, ask Hong Ye or Cui Ming to bring out the Jade Beauty Cream I didn’t finish last time, share half of it.”

Mo Zhu went off confused.

Gu Jinghui stood with arms crossed, watching.

The little maid came in and said, ”Madam, Seventh Miss sent a servant to ask for some Jade Beauty Cream again, saying a friend she was playing ball with got scratched and is afraid of getting a scar.”

Before she finished speaking, everyone couldn’t help but laugh.

The little maid stood there anxiously, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her clothes, her face flushed, unsure what to say next.

Qin Yuan laughed, ”You all give up, didn’t I say this would happen?”

Hong Mian, who had been by her side the whole time, nodded vigorously, ”Right, right, right.”

Gu Jinghui also acknowledged.

Qin Yuan said to the little maid, ”I just told them that Treasure Bead would come again to ask for the ointment, and it would be the Jade Beauty Cream. They didn’t believe me.”

The little maid looked up in shock, staring at Qin Yuan, completely forgetting the distinction in status.

Mo Zhu came over, handed a small porcelain bottle to the little maid, saying, ”Hold it carefully, this small amount is worth several hundred taels of silver. Renhe Hall only lowered the price out of respect for the Madam.”

”...Several hundred taels?”

The little maid quickly tucked the bottle into her clothing, pressing it multiple times.

”Even selling me wouldn’t cover it.”

”Hah, even with money, you might not be able to buy it,” Hong Mian smartly chimed in, ”Hurry back, don’t delay on the way, be careful walking, don’t fall, and even if you do, remember to protect the item, huh.”

The little maid quickly said goodbye and left.

Hong Mian flashed a thumbs up, laughing, ”Madam is really ingenious, predicting everything.”

Qin Yuan laughed, ”It’s nothing, Treasure Bead and I came back together, she kept muttering about someone being injured. I thought surely girls love beauty, and she’d want the Jade Beauty Cream for them. Treasure Bead started it, knowing I have it, she’d eventually ask for it as a favor.”

Gu Jinghui said, ”Ah, so that’s it.”

Qin Yuan said to Hong Mian, ”Just observe and think carefully, you’ll find clues and come to conclusions. It’s not deep once said.”

Hong Mian nodded frequently, ”I’ve learned, Madam’s heart is more insightful than Bi Gan’s.”

Outside, the little maid was asking, ”Madam, should the hot water be brought in now?”

Qin Yuan said, ”Bring it in.”

Hong Mian left.

Gu Jinghui finished washing swiftly and came out.

His stature was tall and his shoulders broad, arms strong and muscular, even in his undershirt one could see his chest muscles clearly defined, filled with powerful vigor.

Qin Yuan smiled as she handed him the Python Robe, Gu Jinghui raised his hand slightly, saying, ”Madam hasn’t helped me dress in a long time, today I held the reins too tightly, my arms are a bit sore.”

Qin Yuan: ”...”

The arms are sore just like that.

However, it’s true she hasn’t dressed him for a while, as Marquis Gu got up early and she didn’t have the chance, so she said, ”Then come stand on this side of the couch.”

She stepped on the small stool, arranging Gu Jinghui, first putting on the Python Robe, then tying the Jade Belt, laughing, ”It does indeed look nice, something from the Imperial Household is always more astonishing than civilian goods. The four-clawed python looks as if it travels through the clouds and could come to life, dear husband looks truly handsome in it.”

Gu Jinghui beamed with joy, his eyebrows full of smiles.

Receiving praise from his little wife is such a delight.

Qin Yuan further tied the three shoulder pieces for him, scrutinizing him, Marquis Gu let her look, only after a good while did she clap her hands and say, ”Truly a dragon among men, dear husband’s excellent appearance can suppress this attire, if it were anyone else, they’d only show off wealth.”

Gu Jinghui couldn’t help but pinch her chin, kissing her, softly saying, ”Your sweet little mouth, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.”

Qin Yuan didn’t shy away as before, her delicate hands encircling his neck, they cuddled for a while before letting go.

Gu Jinghui sighed, ”I wonder when we might consummate the marriage.”

Qin Yuan lowered her eyes, thought for a moment and said, ”Dear husband, there’s no need to rush, remember that sickness comes like a mountain falling, and goes like silk being pulled. Doctor Li’s skills, as you know...”

Gu Jinghui held Qin Yuan’s hand, his eyes full of unmistakable deep fondness, ”It’s only that you have been wronged.”

Qin Yuan dared not lift her head further, softly said, ”It’s alright, as husband and wife we share our burdens, naturally facing difficulties together and enjoying blessings together, I’ll wait for you.”
