”The soul shouldn’t affect the sword’s abilities at all.”

”Oi! Are you ignoring me!? I am Esdath of the Eastern Mountain Sect, and you will listen to me! I am at least a thousand years older than you! Listen to me, boy!”

Jason nodded along to Azrael while ignoring the sword’s constant screaming! Jason calmly stood up while telling Gina that everything was fine when he saw the concerned look on her face. Jason turned his body to face one of the walls in the apartment, and he calmly focused his mind and thought about activating the sword! The moment Jason had that thought, an intense shiver ran down his spine as a purple force gathered around the hilt of the sword. Jason felt the power surging through the sword from a distant realm, and the power filled the entire room in powerful purple mana that pressed down on everything! Jason tried his best to control the power, but he wasn’t able to tame it quickly enough, and a purple blade that was more than a hundred meters long and a meter wide suddenly shot out from the hilt and tore through the wall of the apartment!

BOOM!

The sword eradicated the east wall of Jason’s house and tore a large hole through it, and all the stones and rock that the sword touched immediately began to disintegrate and turn to dust! Jason could only blink in surprise at the moonlight beaming through the large hole in his wall, and he cursed with a grimace!

”Fuck.”

Jason didn’t even need to turn around to know that Gina was just as shocked as he was! Jason looked down at the sword with a heavy glare, but no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t help but be impressed by the amount of power rolling off the sword at that moment! Jason hadn’t felt any power at all from the sword before, but now, he could tell that it was filled to the fucking brim with power! The sword was vibrating in Jason’s hand in a way that was almost alive, and Jason had a feeling that the sword was desperate to release even more power, but Jason did his best to hold it back so it didn’t go too far.

Jason could already tell that this was far too much power, and if he went any further than this, he might lose control! Jason narrowed his eyes at the blade, and he tried his best to reduce the amount of power coming off the sword. The sword easily responded to Jason’s commands, and Jason watched as the sword blade reduced in size until it was only about a meter long and a few centimeters wide, like a regular sword! Jason nodded while looking over the blade made from purple light.

”Freedom~!”

”Let us out~!”

”I want to live~!”

”Give me life!”

He brought the blade closer to himself when he heard some strange voice moaning from the blade, and Jason was shocked when he saw various faces floating about inside the purple sword! The faces looked twisted and bent, almost like they were being tormented and Jason quickly asked Azrael what those faces were. Azrael was about to answer, but the sword suddenly spoke up.

”So you don’t even know what you’re doing!? You’ve called on the tormented souls from the [River of the Afterlife], and you’re using them like this without even knowing what effects they’ll have on you!? Haha! You’ll go mad really soon! I’m sure of it! In fact, with these many souls, you should already start feeling the madness creeping in! Right!?”

Jason raised a brow at the sword as silence filled the living room. Jason waited for the madness that the sword spoke about, but there was nothing at all, and Jason easily dispelled the purple blade without any effort! The sword immediately shouted again!

”Why aren’t you going mad!?”

The sword knew that calling on even one soul from the [River of the Afterlife] was very taxing on the mind, and most people wouldn’t be able to withstand it at all! Jason just called on more than ten thousand souls at the same time! He should be losing his mind already! But the sword suddenly paused when it felt something through its bond with Jason, and it spoke up in shock!

”You...? I can feel hundreds of souls inside you. Are you really a mortal? Are you some sort of primordial god that is using a hidden technique to possess a mortal body!? If you are, then I won’t— Oh my god, who is that beautiful woman!?”

Jason blinked in surprise when the sword suddenly shouted even louder! Gina had moved closer to Jason from behind, and she was hanging off Jason’s shoulder while looking down at the sword curiously and Jason felt the sword shivering in his hand once it caught sight of Gina!

”That smooth skin! Those long legs! Oh my god, her breasts are larger than coconuts! Hey, beautiful woman! I’m Esdath! Grand Ancestor and Great Sage from the Eastern Mountain Sect! I know you can’t see my real body, but I’m more handsome than this young bastard here! I’m old and experienced! Come to me!”

Jason’s face morphed into a look of pure disgust once he heard the bastard trying to talk to Gina, and Gina spoke up with a small laugh.

”What’s with that look on your face? It’s like you’re talking to the sword or something.”

”I am.”

Gina’s eyes widened in genuine surprise.

”Really? What’s it saying?”

”Nothing. It’s just an idiot. Hey, Azrael, how can I get rid of this bastard?”

”Huh!? Wait!”

The sword suddenly shouted, but Jason ignored it as he looked at Azrael. Azrael hummed as it put its fingers on its bony chin and thought for a few seconds. It didn’t know how to handle a situation like this perfectly since this entire situation was just a mistake during the bonding, but it shouldn’t be impossible to get rid of the soul.

”The soul inside the sword is a wanderer that tried to ride the wave of your Rune ritual in order to escape from the River of the Afterlife. There is a high chance that it felt the power from the ritual and it tried to possess the body of whoever was performing the ritual, but it ended up inside the sword instead. There is another ritual that we can perform to erase the soul from existence. That should get rid of it completely.”

Gina put her hand up to her mouth and laughed lightly as she watched the sword shake in fear once it heard Azrael’s words! Jason turned to it with a sinister smile on his face, and the sword felt another shiver go through its body as it spoke up quickly!

”No! Please don’t erase me! Please! Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot! But I promise, I’m harmless! I’m an Elder from a respectable clan in the Eastern Mountains, and I died because of something stupid! I entered the mountains at a young age to cultivate in isolation, but I forgot to take any food with me before I was locked inside! I tried to eat some of the bugs in the cave, but I ate so many of them that I killed the entire ecosystem, and I ended up starving to death! I just wanted another chance at life! I was a cultivator my whole life, and I never had any fun! I’m one thousand and fifty years old and I haven’t even been with a woman!”

Jason didn’t seem like he was even moved by the sad story! There was no sympathy at all in his eyes, and the sword realised that Jason was actually going to erase him! He had to do something! Anything!

”Wait! How about I teach you something! I cultivate the Heaven-Supressing Celibate Body Technique! I can show you how to reach the pinnacle of immortality by suppressing your sexual desires! You can surpass the Primordials!”

Jason’s eyes grew even dimmer the moment he heard the word ’Celibacy,’ and the sword cried out as Jason turned to Azrael and told him to start getting ready for the cleansing ritual!
