After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1454: Chapter 416: The Scheming Midfield Mastermind’s Plot

Post-match press conference.

Moyes and Neville were already seated there early.

When Boas showed up with Terry, Moyes didn’t even greet them.

In his view, they weren’t on the same level of coaching; he compared himself to Ferguson and Wenger, even Mourinho fell short in his eyes.

And Boas was just Mourinho’s assistant.

Both sides took their seats.

The reporters immediately began asking questions.

”Mr. Moyes, what do you think was the reason for your loss today?”

”Phil, Gary said you have the ability to beat Chelsea, is that true?”

”Mr. Boas, tell us about Kevin’s decisive goal.”

”John, who do you think was the biggest contributor to Chelsea’s comeback?”

”...”

The questions seemed different.

But when it came to Chelsea, it was impossible to ignore one person—Huang Kaiwen.

Moyes tapped the table, signaling the reporters to quiet down.

However, he clearly didn’t have the intimidating presence of his Scottish compatriot Ferguson, and the scene was still chaotic, leaving Moyes’ face looking displeased.

Neville felt things were about to go bad.

This guy is very petty-minded.

If he gets upset during the press conference, the team will be in trouble once they get back.

Philip Neville quickly spoke: ”The coach had an excellent tactical plan, we won against Chelsea on a tactical level, we only lost because Kevin’s skills were just too strong.”

Moyes’ expression improved a lot.

”So, if Kevin wasn’t on the field, you would have won?”

Moyes pulled the microphone closer and said, ”The question you asked is a problem in itself. When Kevin wasn’t playing, we were leading. If we continued to lead, we naturally would have won this match.”

”So is it Kevin’s fault that Everton lost?”

The reporter pressed on.

Moyes nodded and said, ”That’s how football is. There’s always Maradona, Pele, Kevin... players who can change the balance of the game. Our tactics were already very good, as our captain mentioned, we won tactically. But we couldn’t win against a player with a weekly wage of £500,000, which is more than the wages of our entire starting eleven combined. While a weekly wage isn’t an absolute representation of skill, for top stars, it’s a good measure of their capability. If our lineup were stronger, today’s result might have been completely different.”

Terry and Boas exchanged glances.

How confident is this Everton coach?

Are those elite club teams’ lineups inferior, are the coaches inferior?

Yet they still lose to Chelsea, right?

A coach who hasn’t even won a decent trophy yet feels he’s already better than those famous coaches.

Terry unceremoniously interrupted Moyes and said, ”During our undefeated multi-line season, Mr. Moyes was unable to beat Chelsea, and neither could the other elite club coaches. I don’t understand why Mr. Moyes thinks that if he were managing better players, he would beat Chelsea. Does he think he’s better than those elite coaches?”

”Yes, and I also don’t understand why a coach would disparage his own players.”

Boas quickly added.

Moyes’ face turned white.

Too caught up in boasting, explaining away the loss as a lack of a strong lineup, he forgot about the players.

”I have nothing more to say, I’ve already said everything.”

Moyes said, immediately standing up to leave.

Neville unwillingly followed him out of the press conference.

For the foreseeable future, they were going to be tormented by this petty guy, Moyes was good at everything, very capable, but he was too arrogant and didn’t like hearing the truth, which was troubling.

Seeing Moyes leave dejectedly, Terry said with a smile: ”See, I know this is the news you all wanted, but in front of a Chelsea with Kevin, anyone can only talk tough after losing.”

”But John, from what we understand, Kevin tends to transfer out every 2 years. Previously he complained about the UK weather, so this might be his last half-season.”

The reporter reminded.

The smile on Terry’s face froze.

Thinking of Chelsea without Huang Kaiwen made Terry feel his player career was meaningless.

Although Chelsea previously didn’t have Huang Kaiwen.

But going from simple to luxurious is easy, going from luxurious to simple is hard.

Playing football happily every day, having peaceful team-building activities for no reason.

Going back to organizing small groups, fighting hard and possibly not even reaching the finals.

Getting at most one championship bonus each season.

Terry wasn’t willing to go back to that.

Boas stood up and said: ”Alright, that’s all for today. The team’s performance wasn’t great today, but it’s also due to the schedule. I have to go back and summarize today’s experiences with the players.”

Terry stood up and followed Boas out.

As the two walked through the player tunnel.

Boas thought for a moment, then advised: ”John, everyone has their own choices. Perhaps you get along well with Kevin, but Kevin is very well-received at Milan and Real Madrid. It’s not like wanting Kevin will make him stay or not wanting him will make him leave. Kevin’s decision on whether to stay at Chelsea or not will depend on himself at the end of the season.”

”I understand, Andre.”

Terry nodded.

He understood the reasoning, just wasn’t ready to accept it.

But there’s still a few months until the end of the season.

He’d worry about it when the time comes.

...

Away team locker room.

Huang Kaiwen asked Ramos: ”Do you wanna come over to my place to play games tonight? Then we can go play golf tomorrow?”

”I have things to do, Kevin.”
