Chapter 988: Chapter 987 The Consequences of Not Fulfilling a Bet

In the suite provided by Tang Chen first-grade, at the moment, Gu Lingfei, Tang Jun, and Tang Han had already arrived.

After their arrival, the three of them examined the jadeite stone and found it hadn’t been cut open.

”Brother Dongzi, are you planning to give us the whole block of Imperial Green glass jadeite?” Tang Han asked, surprised.

Lin Dong shook his head and said, ”Wishful thinking, I’ll give you half. The other half, you guys help me turn it all into jade articles.”

Although the Imperial Green glass jadeite was very precious, after Lin Dong extracted all the Jade Spirit Liquid, it had lost its value to him.

However, even without its value, in terms of appearance, this Imperial Green glass jadeite is the best of the best.

Lin Dong planned to have them turned into jade articles to give away.

To Sister Bai Jue, Li Qingcheng, and others...

But still, it truly excited Tang Jun and the others to no end.

The half-piece of jadeite stone was still worth a handsome sum.

”Sob sob, Brother Dongzi, you’re too generous; we can’t even begin to repay you. How about if my Sister Lingfei agrees to marry you as payment?” Tang Han said, pulling on Lin Dong’s arm, excitedly.

Hearing this, Gu Lingfei said, speechless, ”You silly girl, what nonsense are you spouting. Why don’t you offer yourself up in marriage?”

Making a ghost face at her, Tang Han replied, ”I wish I could, but I’m underage.”

Lin Dong was at a loss for words and said to Tang Jun, ”Control your sister, she’s completely out of line!”

Tang Jun then said, ”Brother Dongzi, I think my sister’s not wrong. You’re giving us such precious jadeite, we have nothing to repay you with.”

”Let my younger female cousin Lingfei marry you.”

Gu Lingfei: ”...”

Lin Dong: ”...”

The two of them glared at the sibling pair, and Lin Dong even said, ”Keep spouting nonsense, and I won’t give it to you at all.”

”No, no, no, Brother Dongzi, just kidding. Besides, marrying her, you wouldn’t lose out,” Tang Han hurriedly said.

”Then aren’t you going to get moving and take the jadeite stone away?” Lin Dong said exasperatedly.

The three of them quickly moved the jadeite stone, afraid that Lin Dong might go back on his word.

Lin Dong naturally didn’t take it to heart.

After they had left, Lin Dong remembered something.

That was about Huang Jie.

Lin Dong certainly wouldn’t let Huang Jie off the hook that easily; if he didn’t comply with Lin Dong’s orders to repay the 1.5 billion yuan bet within three days, then he was going to ensure the Huang Family went completely bankrupt.

Back at the Huang Family, ever since the night of the auction, Huang Jie had been living in constant fear.

Despite that, he still hadn’t done as Lin Dong ordered.

To liquidate his family assets to repay the 1.5 billion yuan Lin Dong!

”I can’t tell my dad about this; if I did, he would beat me to death,” Huang Jie thought to one side.

On the other hand, he hoped for the best.

Although he felt Lin Dong’s identity must be terrifying,

No one would be able to move 1.5 billion in cash with just a phone call otherwise.

But he also had a slight hope that, even if Lin Dong had a significant status, it would not be so easy to bankrupt the Huang Family.

Moreover, his initial bet with Lin Dong was just a verbal agreement, without any legally binding contract, so legally, they couldn’t go after him.

If he chose to play dumb and not acknowledge it, he felt that the other party would have no way to deal with him!

With this mindset, he chose to keep silent.

And just like that, three days passed.

Which was also the deadline Lin Dong gave him.

Lin Dong had been waiting for Huang Jie to keep his promise for these three days, but after the deadline had passed, he had not sold his family property to repay the 1.5 billion yuan bet.

Seeing this, Lin Dong said coldly, ”Huang Jie, originally you were suffering from Three Diseases and didn’t have many years left to live. I thought I’d just let you implode.”

”But since you don’t take my words seriously, then be prepared to make an early visit to Yama.”

He muttered to himself, then pulled out his phone and made several calls.

He called He Sihai, Wu Ming, Ye Wuyou, Han Qianshan of the Han Family...

After a series of calls, there was only one command.

”I want the jewelry business Huang Family to go bankrupt!”

Everyone responded with, ”Yes!”

They all felt honored to be able to work for Master Lin.

And wiping out a hundred billion jewelry clan like the Huang Family was a piece of cake for them.

A group of them immediately set to work.

With just a little maneuvering, the Huang Family’s capital chain broke within a single day.

And the bank also began to pressure them for repayment. These days, which business doesn’t owe the bank money?

Once the banks start pressing for debt, even Dragon Country’s richest man can’t withstand the pressure and has to sell off industries to pay debts.

As for the Huang Family, they stood no chance at all!

The head of the Huang Family, Huang Jie’s father Huang Shengqiang, was completely dumbfounded at this point.

He had no idea what was happening and couldn’t understand why all of a sudden, all his major clients had vanished.

He also didn’t understand why various big families in Demon City were beginning to sanction the Huang Family.

So he went to inquire with those who were suppressing him.

He found Wu Ming and asked, ”General Wu, my Huang Family has no grudges against you, why are you suppressing us like this?”

Wu Ming snorted coldly, ”Because your Huang Family, offended someone you shouldn’t have!”

”Ah? Who? Who did our Huang Family offend?” Huang Shengqiang asked urgently.

”You’re not even qualified to know his name,” Wu Ming dismissed with a twist of his lip.

”But I haven’t offended anyone?” Huang Shengqiang was still puzzled, ”President Wu, please give me a clue? My Huang Family is about to go bankrupt, but I’m completely in the dark—I can’t accept it!”

”Hehe, go ask your ’wonderful’ son!” After saying this, Wu Ming ignored him.

When Huang Shengqiang heard this, he immediately became furious: ”Unfilial son, that damned unfilial son, what trouble have you caused me now!”

Learning from Wu Ming that the root of the problem lay with his own son, he hurried back home to confront that unfilial son about who exactly he had offended.
