Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: If You Can’t, Just Go Find a Rich Woman to Live Off.

”Oh, you’ve actually got some insight. You recognize the ’Double Dragons Probe for the Acupoint’!”

Taking advantage of the break between inserting needles, Li Qingdai looked over at Lin Dong, a hint of pride in her eyes.

This ’Double Dragons Probe for the Acupoint’ technique was her grandfather’s claim to fame.

And as the Needle King’s granddaughter, she started learning this technique at the age of thirteen.

It took her three years just to get the hang of it. Now, after a full ten years, she had mastered it.

Li Qingyang also nodded with approval, his own granddaughter’s talent for Traditional Chinese Medicine was clear for him to see.

Given her talent, by the time she reached his age, her medical expertise would be no less than that of the Needle King himself.

However, her temperament was a cause for concern.

She was too impatient, which is not a desirable trait for a doctor.

Lin Dong had noticed this as well.

Li Qingdai’s medical skills were certainly commendable. Even if she were compared with the director of a Grade III Hospital’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, she would likely outshine them.

But she had one significant flaw – impatience!

A truly excellent master of acupuncture, a renowned name in Traditional Chinese Medicine, would approach treatment with confidence, meticulousness, and steady hands.

She had confidence, using the highly challenging ’Double Dragons Probe for the Acupoint’ to treat the patient, showcasing her self-assurance.

And meticulousness was there too, or else she wouldn’t have been able to insert double needles simultaneously and pinpoint the acupoints precisely.

But she was not steady enough!

Neither her hands nor her mind were steady!

”Doctor, is it done yet?” the patient asked at that moment.

”Almost, almost, it will be done right away.” Facing the patient’s impatience, she became a bit flustered.

Seeing this, Lin Dong shook his head. If she did not correct this mindset, she would at best become a Traditional Chinese Medicine specialist, and as for becoming a famous doctor of nationwide renown, that seemed unlikely.

The ’Double Dragons Probe for the Acupoint’ technique for treating lumbar disc herniation required leaving the needles in.

To achieve the best effect, the needle should be left in for half an hour.

But Li Qingdai was truly too impatient.

Because she was in a competition, pressured by the patient’s urging, and eager to show off in front of Lin Dong, she only left the needles in for less than ten minutes.

Then, she raised both hands and used an ostentatious technique to remove the needles!

This brief period of leaving the needles in would not negate the treatment effect entirely but would prevent it from being optimal.

”Done!” Li Qingdai clapped her hands and asked the patient, ”How do you feel now?”

Because of the lumbar disc herniation, the patient had been enduring back pain and hadn’t dared to move his waist just now.

After the treatment, he began slowly attempting to move his waist.

He started with small movements, and finding that it didn’t hurt, he gradually increased the range.

In the end, he actually did a motion like turning a hula hoop, and then jumped up, surprised and delighted.

”Oh my God, this is miraculous! Before, just a slight movement of my waist was unbearable. And now, I’m not in pain even when turning like a hula hoop!”

Seeing the patient react this way.

The others around also exclaimed in amazement.

”Divine Doctor, truly a Divine Doctor. Amazing!”

”This young woman might look young, but her medical expertise is formidable.”

”Of course, didn’t you see who she is? That’s the granddaughter of the Old Miracle Doctor, Needle King Li Qingyang!”

”...”

Li Qingdai, with her hands clasped behind her back, looked at Lin Dong smugly, her eyes full of triumph.

However, Li Qingdai saw Lin Dong shaking his head.

Her face darkened with annoyance and she snapped, ”Why are you shaking your head? Do you think I did something wrong?”

”You’re too restless, you need to cultivate your temperament further!” Lin Dong voiced his opinion.

”You...” Li Qingdai was agitated, ”What right do you have to teach me a lesson? If you think I’m not good enough, then show me, show me how impressive your acupuncture skills are.”

”I’ve already cured one person here, and over there, you haven’t even started!”

Hearing this, many people around began to agree.

”Exactly, who is this guy? To criticize someone with such superior medical skills!”

”All talk and no action, if you’re so good, why don’t you go ahead!”

”I really can’t stand people like this, utterly incompetent and yet always babbling nonsense, criticizing others for what they cannot do. Ridiculous!”

”...”

Li Qingdai, seeing everyone siding with her, looked at Lin Dong again with a challenging expression, ”Divine Lin, don’t just talk the talk – walk the walk. Hurry up and show us, let us feast our eyes on your medical skills. Didn’t you say you could use ’Controlling Needles with Qi?’ Let’s see you control them then...”

Lin Dong saw that she hadn’t taken his advice to heart.

So he didn’t say much more.

Instead, he calmly walked over to the patient on his side, preparing to start treatment.

But just then the patient touched his head awkwardly and said, ”Young man, who are you? Can you really treat me? If not, I’d rather see another doctor.”

Seeing how young Lin Dong was, the patient was unsure.

He looked to be in his twenties, right? Could he really treat illness?

”Hahaha...” Seeing this, Li Qingdai couldn’t help but mock, ”See that? Even the patient doesn’t believe in you.”

”You might as well go back to school and study hard. If that doesn’t work out, relying on your looks to find a rich woman to mooch off is also an option, but don’t go out there pretending to be a Divine Doctor anymore.”
