Tempest of the Stellar War

After resting for a day, Group 2’s final battle was about to start. This was also the last match of the elites.

The debates were heated between the rising star Wang Zheng and Hocatolin living up to his expectations, so much so that the other groups were losing attention.

The Group 2 battles were indeed one surprise after another. And now Wang Zheng had upset and become one of the dark horses. Azure Dragon Region had dropped a few as well, but it was unexpected that a hero would arise, displaying uncommon ability in the process. In Elite Academy, ability was the surest logic.

The night before, Zhang Shan and the rest had wanted to celebrate, but refrained from doing so. The final victory was the real one. As a result, nobody bothered Wang Zheng, who enjoyed a quiet night’s rest.

He was equally determined to win the runic mecha. If he wanted to bring his powers to bear in the abyss, it would be impossible for normal mecha. The Zerg in the deep abyss was too formidable. Besides, humanity’s runic mecha were all custom-made, and Wang Zheng had a few ideas. If he could create a fighter that best suited him, his power would be completely different.

And besides, if Olivios and Lear had their own, then as an old rival, how could he be absent from their Grades?

Zhang Shan and Eisen had already assembled all the information related to Hocatolin. It included Hocatolin’s previous competition footage, as well as those from before. But Wang Zheng did not view them. Knowing one’s enemy was definitely a good thing, but under some circumstances, it needed to be reviewed way earlier. This was a problem that had to do with one’s Cultivation Technique stages.

For the Primordial Regression Technique to reach the 3rd stage, Wang Zheng needed more opponents and harsher training to polish himself. Only then would he have the strength to protect what he loved.

Without question, Hocatolin was a splendid touchstone. Wang Zheng also wanted to know how strong he currently was.

The noise of the crowd was deafening. The crowd was definitely more than 10,000 strong. The leader of the Elite Academy was a mystery person, but they did not come in the end because of other occurrences. Jiang Feng’s thoughts were already on Li Yizhuo’s diary. But what had been started must be finished, and he had to finish casting the main competition. Privately, he wished that Wang Zheng could secure this victory. But given what he knew of Hocatolin, Wang Zheng did not have a hope.

Lin Huiyin was naturally present. Angela had been powerless to stop her. Her Highness had been adamant. Win or lose, she needed to see it with her own eyes. She would celebrate or mourn together.

Snow Li, Ai Xiaolu, and De Fulei had already become a part of the landscape. They were Wang Zheng’s staunch supporters. Yesterday’s competition had been just an appetizer to let everybody know that Wang Zheng had entered the competition through his own ability. This had changed the way the wind blew, and nobody questioned Wang Zheng’s ability to enter the finals anymore.

At such an important battle, Gail and Butcher were actually absent. When Wang Zheng most needed support, Gail, as a senior and an old friend, who would definitely stand up, uncaring of anything else. But Wang Zheng was already firm on his feet. Winning or losing now depended on his own ability, and Gail and Butcher went about their own business. If he won, that would be glorious. If he lost, then he would have to work harder. Gail and Butcher did not guarantee his win. All they did was to strengthen his confidence.

Butcher remembered his promise with Wang Zheng. If Wang Zheng won, then he would personally oversee the creation of Wang Zheng’s runic mecha.

There was still 5 minutes to the competition, and all the Elite Academy stands were filled, including all the experts from the Huang and Xuan Grades.

Hocatolin did not treat his opponent lightly at all. For someone of his caliber, and to have revelations at that degree, Wang Zheng deserved to have a fight with him. Of course, his impression of Wang Zheng had not changed in the slightest.

As an Aslan person, he had a mission to protect the honor of the princess.

This was something that anyone from Aslan would give their lives for. This was also something that those of other nations would never be able to understand. It was an obsession.

Mecha selection in this match was very important. Given a roughly equal standard, whoever acted arrogantly here would soon be beaten down.

In decisive battles, the prudent choice was fighter or assassin type mecha, as the other types were easily suppressed. Furthermore, at such a high level of battle, long-range fighting was definitely disadvantageous when both parties were so strong.

Hocatolin made his choice without hesitation. The ace mecha of Aslan, super class, and showered with superb battle glory – Void Shadow God.

Aslan and Atlantis had always shared a close relationship. In learning from Atlantis’ technology, Aslan was in the lead. This model of Void Shadow God was similar to Atlantis’ Phantom line, with excellent speed. This model in particular had warp ability, and this was also the best representative of the Milky Way Alliance’s warp abilities. It could allow the Void Shadow God to execute immediate displacement. With such an ability, it should be classified as an assassin-type mecha, but it was actually a fighter type, due to the Aslan preference for a balanced offense and defense. It was specially prepared to be used by Ace pilots.

No matter what one’s strength was, the mecha could bring out better. It was a mecha with no limit.

Hocatolin bringing out the Void Shadow God signaled that he was about to go at it with all he had. This was because Hocatolin had only used the Void Shadow God in the battle against Marzu. This mecha was also the culmination of all of Aslan’s technology, and definitely the best.

Among the non-runic mecha, this model’s capabilities were so superb they left no complaints.

Among all the mecha that Wang Zheng was good at, there were none that could beat this model in affinity. The Gold Wheel mecha could not. In mechanical capabilities, it would be crushed. In a single battle, it would be fatal.

The Wind God had enough agility, but not enough power. Furthermore, the Wind God’s agility could not be fully harnessed when faced with Void Shadow God. Having its biggest advantage shut down was indeed troubling. Furthermore, Wind God’s agility was best suited to complex maneuvers, and in such an arena there were no such conditions.

Hercules was also out of it. It was suicide to use it against any but a weaker opponent. And ability X was not Wang Zheng’s specialty.

Thinking it over, all that was left was Overlord, Storm Swordsman and the Phantom King.

“Wang Zheng looks troubled.”

“Aslan mecha are too outstanding. This Void Shadow God is one of a kind in Inner Roland. That warp ability alone is priceless. It’s said that if it breaks down, you have to ship it back to Aslan for repairs.”

“Aslan people won’t give any quarter.”

“Use the Phantom King. Its capabilities won’t lose to the Void Shadow God.”

“Tch, do you really think Wang Zheng is from Atlantis? His ability X is already weaker by a class. If he uses an Atlantis mecha that will be suicide.”

While the audience was still voicing their suggestions, Wang Zheng had confirmed his own mecha – Storm Swordsman.

The Overlord’s agility was insufficient. Phantom King was also acceptable, but these issues were not within Wang Zheng’s concerns. Only, on this battlefield, he wanted to beat his opponent with a mecha from Earth.

When Storm Swordsman was chosen, Hocatolin’s expression did not slack for a moment. He breathed out lightly, but quickly became solemn again. He had overthought things yesterday. He had always liked Wang Zheng. Honestly, if not for that rumor, he could have become friends with Wang Zheng.

“Wang Zheng, in truth I admire you. Only those who have been on the frontline know how savage the Zerg are. That you made it back is worthy of respect in itself. But here, I will defeat you, because there are things I want to protect as well, right or wrong!”

At this point, Hocatolin had already let go of other thoughts. Whether it was fair to Wang Zheng or not, this was something that he had to do as one from Aslan.

Wang Zheng’s mouth upturned in a smile. “Show me the ability that backs the pride of Aslan.”

Hocatolin returned the slight smile. “You won’t be disappointed.”

The 2 mecha calibrated and entered the arena.

“Tables are open. It’s the last 3 minutes. If you want to bet, hurry up. Chances don’t come back once they’re lost. Brother, are you still watching from the sides? Babe, what are you hesitating for? Come, come, lay your bets. Huge fortunes to be made for backing Wang Zheng. Modest gains to be made for wagers on Hocatolin…”

And the number of people participating was high indeed.

Luo Fei was happy as a drifting cloud. No matter what happened, he was the winner.

The two mecha entered the battlefield. The Storm Swordsman and Void Shadow God were about the same size. Everybody wanted to find out if Wang Zheng was capable of performing at his usual level when faced with a real pro.

The entire arena quietened down. Everybody waited silently.

Hocatolin had noticed the difference. This model of Storm Swordsman was actually equipped with two beam sabers. A full attack type mecha. That was confident of him.

After a few short seconds of silence, the two mecha burst forward at almost the same time. The beam sabers whipped out. BOOM…

Ping ping ping…

The beam sabers of both mecha were clashing ceaselessly, emitting energy waves over and over again. This was completely a contest of physical ability.

Aslan people had a perfectionist nature. In the pursuit of mecha battle technology, physical condition was at least half the battle. And as the perfect example, Hocatolin was no slacker in this aspect. A composite of styles from various countries had been refined and combined to become Aslan’s Imperial sword style.

The bladework was crafty. In comparison, Wang Zheng’s offense seemed chaotic. Visually, Hocatolin’s attacks seemed perfect.

Battle was an art.

BOOM…

After a block, Void Shadow God sent Storm Swordsman flying with a kick. Mecha capabilities were crucial. If skills alone could transcend mecha capabilities, then countries would not need to research mecha at all.

But this was also an arms race, and Void Shadow God’s reactions were clearly faster than Storm Swordsman by a hair. Following closely, the beam saber thrusted towards the Storm Swordsman.
