Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 1779: The Manifestation of True Devil: Part-4

Within mere seconds, Commander 6’s subordinates had been reduced to nothing more than lifeless corpses.

Their unit-class chest plates had been violently torn open, exposing hollow cavities where organs had once been. Flesh, shattered ribs, and mangled entrails were scattered across the metallic floor as though some monstrous force had reached inside their bodies and ripped everything out with its bare hands.

Blood flowed through the grooves of the steel flooring, forming crimson streams beneath the lights.

Standing amidst the carnage was a lone figure.

Dark black mist shrouded everything below its waist, slowly writhing around its body like living smoke. The creature calmly feasted upon flesh and blood as though indulging in the most exquisite meal imaginable.

Crunch…Munch…Crunch…Munch…

Its blood-soaked claws reached deep into another torn-open chest cavity. Thick strands of flesh clung stubbornly to the armoured interior as the creature searched with disturbing patience, its hand disappearing entirely inside the corpse before pulling out another dripping mass of organs.

Without hesitation…

It shoved the flesh into its impossibly wide mouth.

Its jaws slowly closed.

Munch…

Warm blood spilled from the corners of its grotesque grin while chunks of flesh vanished between rows of jagged, predatory teeth.

Srrrcchh…

Its razor-sharp claws scraped against the reinforced alloy inside the mech-suit, producing an agonising metallic screech that echoed throughout the chamber.

Sssshhh~

While the monster busied itself satisfying its endless hunger, the black mist surrounding its lower body continued growing thicker.

What had initially seeped only from its boots had now risen past its thighs, slowly engulfing its entire lower half. Dense strands of abyssal darkness coiled around its body before spreading outward across the area like an expanding sea of night.

Wherever the darkness touched…

Flesh instantly rotted!

Muscles blackened!

Blood dried!

And… Bone crumbled.

Entire corpses withered into grey dust within seconds before collapsing into nothing beneath the spreading mist.

It wasn’t just consuming them… It was erasing them!

Yet the creature paid it no attention.

Its entire existence revolved around only one thought.

Eat!

As the abyssal darkness climbed from its legs toward its hips, the Trinity value continued falling with every passing second.

The creature suddenly stopped chewing.

Its grin twitched.

Then a distorted voice echoed throughout the chamber, carrying unmistakable irritation.

“SiLeNcE!”

The monstrous roar reverberated through the steel walls.

The constant chiming had interrupted its feast.

Who wouldn’t be annoyed…

When someone kept ringing a bell while they were eating?

The darkness slowly reached its abdomen, swallowing more of its body beneath the writhing black mist while the creature resumed eating. It tore another heart apart between its teeth before greedily drinking the warm blood that poured from the ruptured chambers.

GUL—!?

Its small, pointed ears suddenly twitched.

Footsteps?

Not one or two but Hundreds.

More than a hundred synchronised footsteps thundered through the distant corridor, accompanied by the deep vibration of heavy mech-suits rapidly approaching the chamber.

The monster remained completely unconcerned.

It neither turned around…

Nor hurried its meal.

Instead, it calmly took another bite, chewing with quiet satisfaction as though nothing in the approaching army could possibly threaten its feast.

Crunch…Munch…Crunch…Munch…

The creature continued eating without the slightest concern.

The backup force Commander 6 had called moments before his meaningless death had finally arrived.

One after another, unit-class suits surged out from the tunnels, their heavy footsteps shaking the metallic corridor.

Then…

Every one of them stopped.

Before them sat Commander 10.

Or rather…

The thing wearing Commander 10’s body.

It sat quietly beside mangled mech-suits and mutilated corpses. Torn flesh, shattered armour, severed limbs, and scattered organs lay strewn across the area like discarded scraps from a grotesque banquet.

The only sound that remained…

Crunch…

Munch…

The entire squad instinctively raised their weapons.

Energy barrels locked onto the lone figure.

“C-Commander 10… P-Please raise your hands!”

The voice echoed through external speakers.

No response.

MUNCH… CRUNCH… MUNCH…

The creature continued chewing.

The squad’s formation visibly trembled.

“I-I won’t repeat myself!”

The leader’s voice cracked despite every effort to remain composed.

“Raise your hands! Immediately!!”

MUNC—

The chewing stopped.

“…”

The creature slowly rose to its feet.

Its back remained facing the soldiers.

Long black hair slowly cascaded downward until it reached its hips, each strand moving with unnatural elegance despite the complete absence of wind. Beneath it, the abyssal mist continued climbing higher, now swirling around its chest as though darkness itself had become part of its body.

Then…

It spoke.

“i WoN’T… HuRt… ThEm… MoMmY…”

Its head slowly tilted.

“…mOmMy?”

Another tilt.

“MoMmY…?”

The distorted voice twisted through the chamber like broken recordings layered atop one another, every word carrying an unsettling innocence that only deepened the horror.

A chill swept through the entire unit.

Then…

The creature turned around.

“…!!!”

Every soldier instinctively recoiled.

Its face…

That grotesque smile had grown even larger.

It stretched from beneath one eye to the other in the shape of a massive U, tearing impossibly across its face. Thick streams of blood dripped continuously from the corners of its overextended lips while countless rows of jagged teeth glistened beneath the crimson stains.

Its eyes… Void Black!!

Two endless black pits stared directly at the soldiers without the slightest hint of life, as though the eyes themselves had already become gateways into something far beyond death.

And upon its forehead…

Two small protrusions slowly pushed against the skin.

Tiny.

Jet black.

Curved ever so slightly.

The beginnings of horns.

As though something beneath the flesh was still trying to force its way into the world.

Without realising it…

The soldiers took a step backward.

Then another.

No one gave the order.

Their bodies simply moved.

Every hour of military training…

Every combat simulation…

Every lesson drilled into them since recruitment…

Fight.

Never retreat.

Never fear.

Yet the instant they looked upon that face…

Their instincts overruled everything.

Fear won~

“F-F-F-F-F-FIREEEEEEEE!!!!!”

The squad leader’s voice finally shattered into a scream.

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!!!

Hundreds of energy cannons unleashed simultaneously.

Crimson beams flooded the chamber in a storm of overwhelming firepower. Several squads synchronised their weapons into a single converged beam, compressing unimaginable destructive force into one brilliant pillar that engulfed the monster entirely.

The chamber shook violently.

Molten steel splashed across the area.

Explosions merged into one endless roar.

BAM!!

BAM!!!

BAM!!!!

The monster’s body was riddled with holes.

Entire sections of flesh were blasted away.

Its torso was pierced completely through while chunks of its legs disintegrated beneath the relentless barrage. Even the abyssal mist cloaking its body seemed to tear apart under the overwhelming bombardment, countless holes opening within the darkness itself.

[Trinity: 16%↓]

At last…

The squad leader slowly raised his hand.

The barrage ceased.

The barrels of every weapon glowed red-hot, releasing waves of shimmering heat and thick trails of smoke.

“…”

Through the dissipating smoke…

They saw the creature.

It barely possessed enough flesh to resemble a living being anymore.

Much of its body had been blown away, exposing mangled muscle, shattered bone, and torn tissue beneath. Countless holes riddled its frame from head to toe.

Its head hung limply toward the ground.

Motionless!!

Not a single sound escaped it.

The entire chamber held its breath.

They thought they had killed the wicked monster.

They thought it was over.

They thought they won!

Anyone in that situation would have believed the same. After all, the creature’s body had been riddled with countless holes. Entire portions of its flesh had been blown apart.

No living being could possibly survive wounds like those.

And yet…

The head hanging limply forward slowly lifted.

Crack…

A faint snapping sound echoed from its neck as it raised its face toward the soldiers.

Then…

“HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”

Its grin stretched even wider.

Rows of razor-sharp teeth spread from one eye to the other in an impossibly grotesque smile.

They were no longer white.

Every tooth was stained crimson, packed with shredded flesh and strips of meat from its recent feast. Thick saliva mixed with blood dripped continuously from the corners of its mouth.

It simply stood there.

Smiling.

The countless holes that should have ended its existence slowly began closing.

Not through regeneration.

Darkness!!

The abyssal mist flowed into every wound like living tar, filling each cavity before knitting the torn flesh back together. Bone, muscle, and skin reformed beneath the writhing blackness until no trace of the devastating barrage remained.

As the darkness completely consumed its body, every remaining trace of human flesh vanished beneath an endless black silhouette.

Only its grotesque, blood-soaked face remained visible.

Its impossibly long black hair now reached well past its waist, flowing behind it like strands of living night.

The creature slowly lowered its head.

Its grin never faded.

Then it muttered in a twisted, delighted tone.

“dADdy’S hOmE… FuCkErS~”

!!!!

The next instant…

Its mouth began opening.

Wider.

And wider.

Its jaw stretched far beyond anything anatomy should have allowed, splitting into a massive circular maw lined with endless rows of saw-like teeth.

Then…

“KKKKKOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!”

The scream exploded through the chamber.

The sound filtered inside every mech-suit, overloaded instantly as the shriek tore through the advanced audio systems like they didn’t exist. Soldiers instinctively clutched their helmets in agony as blood streamed from their ears, dripping inside their visors while warning alarms flashed uncontrollably.

The sound wasn’t merely loud.

It clawed into their minds.

After the screech, every soldier is stunned, their ears ringing and visors flooded with warnings. Before anyone can regain formation, the monster suddenly bends its knees.

STEP!

The monster is gone.

Not fast enough to blur.

Gone.

Immediately, every system begins searching.

[Searching…]

[Target Locked]

The lock disappears.

[Signal Lost]

[Searching…]

Then a soldier whispers,

“…Where…”

A scratching sound answers.

Like fingernails lazily dragging across polished steel.

Scccrrrraaaaaaa…

It comes from somewhere above.

Every helmet slowly tilts upward.

The monster isn’t standing.

It is pressed flat against the ceiling, every limb bent at impossible angles, its long black hair dangling toward the soldiers like wet ropes while its grin watches them upside down.

It hasn’t blinked once.

It simply waits.

Nobody fires.

Not because they forgot.

Because every instinct tells them that moving first is a mistake.

Then…

Its neck rotates.

Not the body.

Only the neck.

One hundred eighty degrees.

Crack…

Crack…

Crack…

Until the grin is somehow even wider.

Then it smiles.

“HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…”

Like someone trying not to laugh during a funeral.

One nervous soldier finally breaks.

“F-FIRE!”

Hundreds of beams erupt upward.

But before the beams connect…

The monster pushes off.

CRAAAANG!!

Without pausing for even a fraction of a second, it sprints across the walls with terrifying speed. Every step leaves deep claw marks and showers of sparks as the entire wall groans under the force.

The soldiers desperately try to track it.

“There! Above us!”

“No, left side!”

“I lost it!”

“My scanner can’t lock!”

Then…

It drops.

Not onto the ground.

Onto a soldier.

CHUCKKK!

Its claws pierce straight through the Unit-class suit, and before anyone can react, it launches back toward the wall, dragging the screaming mech-suit with one arm.

The soldier claws desperately at the floor.

His armoured fingers carve glowing trenches through the steel as he’s hauled across the wall like prey caught by an apex predator.

“N-NO! HELP ME! HELP ME!”

His squad unloads everything they have.

“Don’t hit him!”

“It’s moving too fast!”

The monster continues sprinting along the walls with its struggling victim, smashing the mech-suit against walls and the ceiling with every bound.

Bang!

Bang!

CRAAASH!!

Each impact dents the unit-class suit a little more.

The screams grow weaker.

Then…

“…”

The monster stops halfway up the wall.

Still clinging there.

It slowly turns its head toward the remaining soldiers.

Its grin stretches even wider.

Then…

Crunch.

It bites into the still-twitching mech-suit while staring directly at them.

And That’s all… right before their eyes, it ate and after…. Chaos!!

“NOOO!!”

“M-MY HAND… CHUKK!”

“G-GODDESS…!!”

“C-CALL THE GOVER…!!”

Only screams echoed throughout the chamber as the monster moved with horrifying speed, tearing through its prey before most of them could even react.

BOOM!!

“F-FIRE… CHUK!!”

[Trinity: 09%↓]

“N-No… Pleas—”

[Trinity: 08%↓]

“M-MY GOD—”

[Trinity: 07%↓]

“W-What is this Mons—”

Within only a few minutes…

The pristine white chamber no longer existed.

Its walls had been repainted crimson.

Blood dripped slowly from every surface, pooling beneath shredded mech-suits and scattered remains. Broken armour, twisted weapons, and torn bodies lay piled across the chamber, leaving almost no trace of the immaculate military facility that had once stood there.

And… seated upon that mountain of ruined mech-suits and lifeless bodies…

Was a monster.

A true fucking monster!

It sat comfortably atop the mound like a king upon a throne, calmly picking apart one corpse after another. Its claws slipped beneath broken armour to pull free whatever remained inside before greedily stuffing the dripping flesh into its enormous mouth.

Crunch…Munch…Crunch…

Some victims were still barely alive.

“P-P-Please, I-I don’t want to di”—MUNCH!

Weak, broken cries escaped their helmets as the creature fed.

It listened to every scream.

Every desperate gasp.

Every final plea.

And somehow…

Those sounds only made the meal seem sweeter~

Its shoulders trembled with delight.

It was excited.

It was happy.

It felt… Damn Good~

The dark mist slowly climbed toward his head.

Like countless microscopic particles of living night, it crept across his skin, steadily swallowing every remaining trace of him.

First… It covered his chin.

Then his cheeks.

[Trinity: 06%↓]

The darkness continued rising.

It swallowed his lips.

[Trinity: 05%↓]

Then… His ears.

[Trinity: 04%↓]

Then… His nose.

[Trinity: 03%↓]

Then… His forehead.

[Trinity: 02%↓]

Only his eyes remained visible.

The darkness reached his right eye first.

It vanished beneath the abyss.

[Trinity: 01%↓]

Only one eye remained.

His left eye.

The final fragment of light.

The last remaining proof that anything human still existed beneath the endless darkness.

The abyss slowly stretched toward it.

Closer and… Closer.

Only a hair’s breadth remained before it would consume the final trace forever.

!~Ding~!

[Trinity: 0—]

“Ah… AY-ther…?”

The darkness stopped.

Only a microscopic gap remained before the final eye would have been completely engulfed.

The weak, trembling voice reached his ears.

Soft… Familiar and… Gentle.

Aqualina Naiadae.
