Chapter 1688: HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!

[Reader discretion advised]

One should understand that it is not easy to be a good person, and remaining a good person among bad people is even harder.

It is not because good people are ignorant of evil.

In fact, they know exactly what “bad” means.

Hell, many of them have witnessed things far worse than what ordinary criminals or corrupt individuals would consider evil.

A good person is simply someone who understands those dark impulses, acknowledges them, and still chooses to push them aside. They choose to remain good despite knowing how easy it would be to become something else.

That is what truly makes them a good person.

And yet, even good people have limits.

Every person has a breaking point hidden somewhere deep inside their soul. Once that limit is reached, once they are pushed beyond the point of no return, something changes.

The restraint they spent their entire lives maintaining begins to crack, and what emerges afterwards can be far more terrifying than any ‘villain’ who was evil from the beginning.

That was exactly what was about to happen.

The people laughing happily inside the Zoo had no idea that a certain being had already reached that limit.

They did not know that someone had been pushed beyond the point where reason, forgiveness, and mercy could bring him back.

They did not realise that the final chain holding him together was already snapping apart.

Now, there was no longer any distinction between good and bad within his eyes.

Every trace of sympathy had already been consumed by something far darker. The only thing remaining inside him was a bloody, all-consuming hatred that burned hotter than any fire.

It was a hatred directed toward an entire civilisation.

A hatred directed toward those who had destroyed his people and reduced their lives to nothing.

A hatred directed toward… the arrogant bastards who treated the lives of others like worthless garbage beneath their feet.

A piece of shit!

So what should one do with people like that?

The answer seemed simple… Very simple in fact!

Treat those motherfuckers worse than the way they treated everyone else~

And now, nothing could stop the flames raging inside him. They burned through his thoughts, his emotions, and his restraint, spreading faster than any wildfire and consuming everything that remained.

“Man… this feels so good,” the staff member said with a relieved groan as he urinated into the Aquatic Man’s mouth. His shoulders relaxed, and his eyes rolled back in satisfaction as if he had been holding it in for hours.

Beside him, another staff member chuckled before shaking his head.

“Fuck yeah, man. I honestly thought this was a stupid idea when I first heard about it,” he admitted while adjusting his uniform.

“But after trying it a few times? Damn… I get it now. Every single day, I look forward to it. Looking at these things kneeling there without being able to do shit just makes me feel superior.”

A smug grin spread across his face.

“Those supervisors can all go to hell. Always acting like they’re better than everyone else, barking orders every five seconds. Who the fuck do they think they are? Talking to me like I’m some kind of servant? Hah. If anything, I’m above every one of those assholes.”

His laughter echoed through the chamber.

“Hahaha! That’s right. I’m above everybo—”

Crack… Clucckkk!

It was not merely the sound of bone breaking.

It sounded as if an entire skeleton had been violently twisted beyond the limits of human anatomy while muscles and tendons were ripped apart at the same time.

The laughing staff member instantly snapped his eyes open and turned toward the source of the noise.

“Hey, what the hell was that soun—HOLY FUCK!!!!”

The scream tore violently from his throat.

His colleague’s body had folded forward like a broken flip phone.

His spine had bent at an impossible angle. Jagged sections of vertebrae protruded through the flesh of his back, tearing through skin and muscle as blood poured down his body.

Splash!

Every muscle fibre along his torso appeared stretched and ruptured beyond recognition, leaving strips of mangled tissue hanging from the exposed bone.

What made the sight truly horrifying, however, was the precision.

His body had been folded in such a way that his face had been forced directly against his own cock.

His jaw hung open unnaturally, and the stream of urine had never stopped.

The liquid dripped from his lips, flowed across his cheeks, slid over his motionless nose, and slowly trickled down from his lifeless eyes. His pupils remained frozen in place, staring blankly into nothingness while the final spasms of his nervous system caused occasional twitches throughout his broken limbs.

He was drinking his own piss.

And he wasn’t even alive anymore.

The surviving staff member could not comprehend what he was seeing.

His body turned ice cold.

His legs trembled so violently that he nearly collapsed. Fear gripped every muscle in his body, and he did not even notice that his own bladder had lost control.

Urine continued dripping down his leg as his mind desperately tried to process the impossible scene standing before him.

What the fuck just happened?

No human being could do that.

Nobody could bend another person’s body into such a horrifying shape with that level of precision.

Something had done this!

“S-Someone…” he stammered while stumbling backward. “H-Help… somebody hel—”

“Make you feel superior, you say?”

A cold, emotionless voice echoed from somewhere behind him, carrying a chilling malice that seemed to seep directly into his bones.

The staff member froze so completely that even breathing felt difficult. Every instinct in his body screamed at him not to move, not to turn around, and not to acknowledge whatever had spoken.

The sensation reminded him of standing at the edge of a cliff in complete darkness, knowing something waited below and knowing that one wrong step would send him plunging into oblivion.

His face twisted with fear as he slowly turned his head, expecting to find some monstrous figure standing directly behind him.

… There was nothing there.

The empty area stretched into the distance without a single sign of movement, making the situation somehow even more terrifying.

The voice had been close… Far too close.

Then he turned forward again.

!!

The moment his eyes landed on the figure standing before him, his blood turned cold as a shiver ran down his spine.

A young man stood there quietly.

At first glance, he appeared ordinary. He looked young, almost harmless~

Yet the longer the staff member stared at him, the more wrong everything felt. His eyes were pitch black, not merely dark but unnaturally deep, as though they contained an endless void. Looking into them felt like staring into a bottomless abyss filled with hatred and grief.

The staff member could not explain why, but every instinct he possessed reached the same conclusion.

Whatever stood before him was not human.

The young man tilted his head slightly before offering a smile that somehow appeared both gentle and… deeply unsettling.

“Oh? Are you scared, buddy?” he asked in a soft voice.

“There’s no need to be scared. Daddy isn’t going to hurt you, dear~”

His tone sounded playful, yet something beneath those words felt profoundly wrong.

It was the kind of voice someone might use to comfort a frightened child.

The staff member’s legs trembled uncontrollably.

“N-No… p-please…” he stammered. “I-I was wrong. I didn’t mean… I…”

His thoughts collapsed into chaos.

He did not know who this young man was.

He did not know how he had entered the facility.

He did not know why those black eyes seemed to contain enough hatred to drown the entire world.

But he knew one thing with absolute certainty.

The broken body of his colleague lay only a short distance away, and this person was responsible.

A desperate urge to flee exploded inside his mind.

He needed to run.

He needed to get away immediately!!

The young man’s smile widened slightly as though he had heard every thought passing through the terrified man’s head.

“Oh, please,” he said casually. “If you want to run, then go ahead. Nobody is stopping you.”

The staff member blinked in confusion… The response was so unexpected that it briefly interrupted his panic.

The young man slowly pointed downward.

“Although,” he continued, his smile never fading, “you might want to stop embarrassing yourself first. Could you stop peeing first? It’s disgusting “

The staff member followed the gesture and immediately felt his stomach sink.

Urine was still pouring from him uncontrollably.

“Put the thing away.”

The young man’s smile remained perfectly calm, almost friendly.

The young man’s expression remained calm, but there was something disturbingly cold hidden beneath the surface.

“I said, put that thing away.”

The staff member desperately tried to regain control of himself, but no matter how hard he tried, nothing changed.

“I… I… It’s not stopping”

The smile on the young man’s face slowly faded.

“PUT. THAT. THING. AWAY.”

The words struck like a hammer.

The staff member felt sweat pouring down his face.

“I-I’m trying,” he said frantically. “I really am trying.”

He hurriedly tried to stop peeing, yet no… it was coming out in deep shit fear… heck, he started to shit himself in fear!

For several long seconds, the young man simply stared at him.

Then he sighed.

The sound carried an overwhelming sense of disappointment.

“A loser until the very end,” he muttered quietly.

To the staff member’s surprise, the young man’s expression suddenly softened. A warm smile appeared on his face, and he extended a hand as though offering help to an old friend.

“Fine,” he said. “Let me help you.”

Relief briefly appeared in the staff member’s eyes.

“T-Thank yo—”

CHUKKK~!!

“MMFFFFF!!!”

“Now it’s inside you, so there’s no need to thank me~”

The young man winked playfully.

The staff member’s eyes widened.

Confusion turned into horror.

Then horror turned into disbelief.

The staff member’s horrified eyes widened as he stared at the young man, who wore a wicked grin upon his face. Blood sprayed from his crotch in violent bursts, almost resembling a stream of urine.

However, there was nothing there anymore.

The reason for his muffled screams quickly became obvious.

His dick was shoved into his mouth, he was gagged by his own fucking cock~

The staff member staggered backwards.

“Hehehe~”

The young man watched quietly, his expression carrying neither joy nor anger. What made the sight truly disturbing was the complete absence of emotion behind those dark eyes. It was as though the suffering around him meant absolutely nothing… as he watched the life slowly leave the staff member’s eyes.

Moments later, both bodies collapsed motionlessly onto the ground. Blood continued spreading across the floor, flowing outward from beneath them like water pouring from a shattered bottle.

The young man stared quietly at the motionless bodies lying across the floor while an unreadable expression lingered upon his face.

For several seconds, he remained completely silent, his black eyes studying the scene as though searching for something missing from it.

“It’s… not enough. You should have made them suffer before ending their lives. Tsk, Tsk… Instead, you gave them a quick death, which means you still have a very long way to go before understanding true hatred.”

The dark voice echoed through his mind with obvious disappointment, causing the young man to lower his gaze slightly before releasing a small sigh.

*Well, I suppose that means there’s still some mercy left inside me after all~*

Despite saying those words, a crooked smile slowly appeared across his face. The expression did not match the sadness in his voice, nor did it match the darkness hidden behind those abyss-like eyes.

*But we can get some training outside, don’t you think?*

A twisted laugh immediately answered him from within his mind.

“Heheheh~ Now you’re finally speaking my language. The people in this place deserve everything that’s coming to them. FUCK THEM ALL~”

“Hehehe~” The young man let out a quiet chuckle before shifting his attention toward the Aquatic Man kneeling nearby.

He had not reacted to the deaths, the screams, or even the overwhelming hostility filling the room. He simply remained there with empty eyes staring into the distance, as though every piece of his spirit had already been broken long before today.

“Kill him.”

The Dark Voice commanded.

Yet… The young man ignored it.

Instead, he walked toward a damaged hose leaking water onto the floor and picked it up. He directed the stream toward the Aquatic man, allowing the water to wash across his body.

As the water splashed against him, the gills along the Aquatic Man’s neck slowly reacted and began functioning properly again. His body instinctively responded to the moisture it desperately needed, yet his expression remained completely unchanged.

There was no relief, no gratitude, and no sign that he even recognised what was happening around him.

The young man watched him for several moments before crouching down in front of him.

“What are you doing?” the dark voice demanded. “Stop wasting time and kill him now. NOW!”

The irritation inside the voice became increasingly obvious, yet the young man continued acting as though he had never heard the command.

*Oi,* he said quietly while studying the vacant eyes before him. *Are you still in there somewhere?*

No response came.

The Aquatic Man remained motionless.

After waiting several seconds, the young man released a disappointed sigh.

*Looks like they destroyed you a long time ago.*

There was no sympathy in his voice, yet there was something else hidden beneath the anger.

It was the frustration of seeing someone reduced to an empty shell after enduring years of suffering.

The young man reached forward, grabbed the man’s hair, and gently lifted his head.

*Come on. Look at me.*

The Aquatic Man’s empty gaze finally met his.

For the briefest instant, something flickered within the darkness of the young man’s eyes. Hidden beneath the endless blackness, a faint crimson glow emerged and pulsed like a dying ember struggling against the night.

The change lasted less than a second.

Yet it was enough.

The empty eyes staring back at him suddenly trembled.

Spark!

A spark appeared.

Then something buried deep inside the Aquatic Man violently awakened.

“ARRRRRRRHHHHHHHH!!!”

A deafening roar erupted from his throat as years of pain, humiliation, grief, and helpless rage surged back into his mind all at once. The vacant expression vanished from his face and was replaced by raw fury powerful enough to distort his features.

The young man released his grip and watched quietly as the Aquatic Man rose to his feet. Hatred burned within the man’s eyes with such intensity that it seemed capable of setting the entire world ablaze.

Without speaking a single word, the Aquatic Man turned and rushed toward the exit. His movements contained none of the hesitation or emptiness from before.

The broken shell that had existed moments earlier was gone, replaced by someone driven entirely by anger and the desire to confront the people responsible for his suffering.

The young man watched him disappear down the corridor before tilting his head slightly.

What exactly had he done?

The honest answer was that he had absolutely no idea.

Trying to explain the process felt strangely impossible because it resembled something people did every day without understanding.

Nobody could truly explain how they commanded their fingers to move or how they instinctively knew how to walk after years of practice.

They simply performed those actions without questioning the countless processes operating beneath the surface.

Whatever he had just done felt exactly the same.

It was natural.

It was instinctive.

And for some reason, that answer felt completely sufficient to him.

It was something related to his Primordial Demonic Vampiric Bloodline.

Even Aether himself did not fully understand what it was or how it worked.

During the time he spent dealing with the people responsible for hurting Penelope, he gradually began noticing a strange pattern in the way the bloodline affected others.

It’s not manipulation, and honestly, he wasn’t even sure if it was an ability or just… a natural trait.

He was not planting thoughts into people’s minds, nor was he rewriting their personalities and turning them into obedient puppets. Instead, he seemed capable of reaching into the deepest corners of a person’s heart and dragging hidden desires to the surface, allowing those desires to grow until they became impossible to ignore.

The people affected by this power did not suddenly become different individuals.

As long as they possessed enough mental strength to maintain control over themselves, they could still make choices and act according to their own judgment. That was exactly why the woman who had harmed Penelope managed to remain herself despite falling under his influence. She never completely lost her identity, whereas the other woman had surrendered entirely to the darkness already lurking within her own heart and willingly killed her husband… all because of his sweet three words~

And still, this is not something he could control at will… it came when he was pushed to the limit.

As the young man watched the Aquatic Man disappear down the corridor, a slow and wicked smile spread across his face.

He had not controlled the Aquatic Man.

He had not forced him to obey.

He had not stolen his free will.

He had awakened a desire that already existed within the depths of the Aquatic Man’s soul and given it enough strength to overcome the emptiness consuming him.

The desire was…

*The desire to burn this land and everyone living on it~* Young man said with an amused smile. *After all, if he’s going to die anyway, then he might as well help me destroy this place while taking revenge on the people responsible for turning his life into a nightmare.*

“Hehehehehe~ My boy, you truly are magnificent. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.”

The dark voice immediately burst into delighted laughter, its excitement reverberating throughout his mind with enough force to make it feel almost alive.

The voice sounded happier than it had at any point since the young man first began hearing it.

Despite that enthusiasm, the young man… or the young Aether slowly turned his head toward his right side and stared into empty space where no person, creature, or spirit could be seen. To anyone observing him, it would appear as though he were speaking to the air itself.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

*Next time, Don’t talk loudly…* Aether said in a cold and irritated tone. *It’s annoying fucking cunt!… I’ll rip out your throat and shove it into your mouth.*

For several seconds, absolute silence followed his threat.

Then the dark voice erupted into even louder laughter than before.

“HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!”
