Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 1543: Official Engagement of Elysiumis Aurora: Part-2

The High Priests stood upon the grand stage wearing ceremonial robes woven from silk so pale they almost shimmered beneath the dimming sky.

Towering hats crowned their heads, curved and ornate.

Each held a polished staff carved with holy sigils, their fingers wrapped tightly around the wood as they faced the hundred thousands gathered to witness the official engagement.

One of the High Priests stepped forward and declared in a voice that carried across the vast sea of believers,

”The Children of Elysiumis Aurora, beloved Followers of the Mother, faithful Believers who have carried her light within your hearts, the day has finally come.

The light shines upon us now more radiant than ever before, brighter than any dawn that has touched our Empire.

Today marks not merely a union of three souls, but the weaving of destiny itself into our sacred history.

This is the day our Empire flourishes once again with happiness and love...

He who walked through shadow and endured the silence of abandonment now stands before you.

He who returned bearing light, carrying warmth where cold despair once ruled, has not forgotten his people.

He who washed despair from our Empire did not do so with power alone, but with compassion, faith, and... unyielding devotion!”

Another High Priest lifted her staff high, her voice trembling with emotion rather than weakness.

”For the love of our Beloved Archpriest, who graced us with his presence once more and cleansed our sins with the strength of his spirit, we gather not as subjects but as children returning to a guiding light.

His presence restored our faith when darkness swallowed our prayers, and his heart reminded us that we are never forsaken.”

With slow, deliberate reverence, they motioned toward Aether, who stood beside them in silence.

Aether stepped beyond the line of High Priests.

He wore white robes untouched by crown or emblem, fabric flowing freely with no symbol of authority stitched into its surface.

There was no mark of empire, no jewelled ornament proclaiming rank or power, only the quiet dignity of purity itself.

The white seemed almost luminous against the darkening sky, not radiant in arrogance but gentle in its sincerity, as though light chose him rather than obeyed him.

The murmurs among the gathered people faded without command. No Priest commanded silence, yet reverence alone stilled thousands of voices, and even the restless wind seemed to quiet itself in respect.

”Archpriest,”

The High Priests spoke together.

They bowed their heads deeply before Aether, not as rulers submitting to authority but as believers honouring the one who carried their faith forward.

Across the vast gathering, the people followed, lowering their heads with tears of relief and joy glistening in their eyes.

Aether smiled warmly, and there was no pride within it, only gentle acceptance. He inclined his head in return, acknowledging their devotion not as something owed to him, but as something entrusted to him.

As the sky’s brightness slowly dimmed, shadows stretched across the stage like a curtain being drawn by unseen hands.

One of the High Priests stepped aside to retrieve a sacred relic wrapped in cloth, while another carefully burned incense within a silver censer.

Fragrant smoke curled upward in delicate spirals, filling the air with sweetness that carried memory, worship, and the promise of blessings yet to come.

Then another High Priest raised both hands toward the heavens, his voice breaking slightly as he spoke with raw sincerity.

”They were the ones who stood beside us through every trial, guiding our trembling steps when faith wavered and teaching us to see the Mother not only in prayer halls, but in each act of kindness we offered one another.

They reminded us that being a good person is not a duty performed for recognition, but a life lived in quiet devotion and love.

When darkness swallowed our Empire and even our bodies felt burdened beneath despair, it was they who remained beside the Archpriest.

It was they who carried his teachings into our homes, who spoke hope into grieving hearts, who sacrificed comfort and safety to protect both our Empire and our spirits.

Let us now welcome the brides of our beloved Archpriest...

Archpriestess Seraphina Ashwood and Saintess Helena Sunfire, whose faith has never faltered and whose love stands as testament to the Mother’s grace.”

As the final words echoed, the sky turned completely dark, and the entire world seemed to hold its breath beneath a veil of shadow.

Aether blinked in quiet curiosity, his gaze sweeping across the darkness as he wondered why no torch or lantern had yet been lit.

Just as he wondered—

Step...

Step...

Then soft footsteps broke the silence.

Aether turned his gaze toward the source of the sound, and his breath caught in his chest.

From the darkness emerged two figures walking slowly forward, each carrying a softly glowing candle in their hands.

The candlelight did not blaze fiercely, yet it shone steadily, illuminating their faces with warmth and gentleness.

Under the darkened sky, beneath a world wrapped in velvet shadow, the gentle glow of candlelight rose like hope.

The warm flames flickered softly in their hands, and in that fragile light their faces brightened with an intimacy that daylight could never reveal.

The grey pupils of Sera fixed upon him without wavering. Her small, elegant nose rose and fell with steady breaths, and her parted red lips seemed on the verge of whispering his name into the sacred hush between them... The candlelight traced the sharp curve of her cheekbones and softened them at once... Beneath that golden shimmer, she appeared both gentle and dangerous, as though a single step closer would let her beauty pierce straight through a man’s heart.

Aether stood utterly taken aback, the sight of her in that warm glow stealing the breath he did not realise he held.

She glowed, and... she was ready.

Aether’s eyes softened further, warmth pooling within them like dawn rising through winter frost. His gaze shifted toward the other figure walking beside Sera, drawn as if by instinct rather than thought.

The golden pupils of Helena shone like twin embers forged from sunlight itself, staring into him with a depth that carried devotion, longing, and something quietly fierce!... Her small nose, delicate and charming, caught the faint light, and her thin lips pressed together before trembling with excitement she could no longer fully contain... A blush colored her cheeks, shy yet radiant, and beneath the trembling candle flame, she looked impossibly lovely, as though the darkness itself existed only to frame her glow.

Aether’s lips curved wider... Why did his wives look so breathtaking on a day like this?

Did they carry some secret light within them, some blessing that revealed itself only now?

On this sacred evening, they felt overwhelmingly beautiful beyond anything he had ever seen, more radiant than on the first night they had given themselves to him, more luminous than any memory he carried.

It was strange, almost unreal, and yet his heart insisted it was true.

It felt like a miracle unfolding before his very eyes.

He wanted nothing more than to pull them into his arms, to kiss them deeply, to hold them against his chest as though anchoring them there before the stars rose and scattered across the sky beyond his reach.

Suddenly, one by one, candles began to flare in the hands of the gathered believers.

The flames awakened gently, spreading across the vast crowd like a tide of warm constellations blooming at ground level. The entire stage and its surroundings were bathed in countless points of light, each one held carefully within devoted hands.

They clutched the candles close to their chests, both hands wrapped around the slender wax as though protecting something sacred. It looked less like illumination and more like offering, as if every soul present lifted their fragment of light toward heaven in silent prayer.

Aether gazed at the sea of glowing flames shimmering within the darkness.

The light was unlike anything he had seen before... Above them, stars began to appear one by one, faint, blending their distant shimmer with the earthly glow below.

The sky and the people seemed to mirror one another, heaven and empire woven together in shared radiance!!

The white garments worn by the gathered believers reflected the candlelight beautifully, turning the entire assembly into a living ocean of pale brilliance. It was not a single glow but countless subtle shades of radiance, each robe catching flame differently, creating a harmony of light that felt sacred and eternal.

”Archpriest.”

The High Priest’s voice reached him gently through the glow. Aether turned and saw the High Priest motioning for him to step forward and stand at the centre of the stage. Around him, the other High Priests formed a semicircle, each holding a candle that flickered steadily in the quiet air.

Aether inclined his head and walked to the centre, his white robes flowing softly around him.

Sera and Helena approached him together. They knelt before him without hesitation, each holding her candle carefully in both hands.

Slowly, they lifted the flames toward him, offering the light as though presenting their very souls.

Sera raised her candle higher, the golden flame trembling softly against her calm breath. Her gaze never faltered or lowered.

She stared directly into Aether’s eyes; her voice rang across the hushed stage.

”Before Mother, before this Empire, before the countless eyes that witness this sacred moment, I offer not duty and not obedience, but my heart.

A heart that carries the love of the people you have protected and the faith you have restored. I have nothing greater to give than this, Aether, and I place it in your hands without fear.”

The flame reflected within her pupils, turning grey into molten gold as it danced with every quiet flicker.

”Let my love be the flame that never dims at your side.”

A murmur rippled through the crowd like wind moving across a field of wheat. Some pressed trembling hands against their chests, clutching their candles closer as if guarding a fragile blessing.

They understood what she was offering. They knew she was not speaking for herself alone, but for them, for their fears, their gratitude, their hope. Yet to witness her accept her new life so openly and with her whole heart stirred something deeper than pride.

It stirred devotion.

So great Archpriestess!

Then Helena slowly lifted her candle higher. The golden flame shimmered within her eyes as she looked directly into Aether’s, her gaze steady despite the faint blush warming her cheeks beneath the soft glow,

”Before Mother... before this Empire... before the countless eyes that witness this sacred moment, I stand not as Saintess alone, but as a woman whose heart has learned courage because of you. A man whose presence brings not only calm, but love. You who returned smiles to my people when despair threatened to shatter them, you who reminded us that faith is not fragile.”

She inhaled slowly, her fingers tightening slightly around the candle.

”I promise this... Every day, I will try to make you smile the way you make me and all of us feel safe. I will protect your heart as fiercely as you protect our people.”

Her eyes shimmered,

”Take my light, Aether, and let us build something so enduring that even heaven itself cannot undo it.”

The crowd could no longer contain their emotions. Soft cries of joy echoed through the candlelit sea.

Tears streamed freely down faces illuminated by faith and gratitude.

How selfless they were.

How rare to witness such devotion without pride or ambition woven into it.

Who could have just a selfless Saintess!

A Saintess who offered love before glory.

An Archpriestess who chose heart before power.

Aether stood staring blankly at the two kneeling before him, /Can I kiss you both now?/ he asked simultaneously through their connection, his tone carrying shameless amusement.

Both Sera and Helena flushed instantly, their cheeks deepening in colour beneath the golden light as they lowered their gazes.

/N No!/ Helena answered shyly, her embarrassment nearly palpable even through their bond.

/Idiot... wait. You will have all of it tonight,/ Sera replied, her own blush fierce despite the steadiness of her voice.

Aether chuckled quietly to himself.

He had only meant to tease them, yet the sight of their flustered expressions nearly undid him.

They looked too beautiful, too radiant, and too alive in that sacred glow. If it were anywhere else, he would have pulled them close without hesitation.

Just then, a voice echoed sharply within his mind.

/Aether, Lyirrs has made contact with the Terra Empire./

Aether flinched almost imperceptibly.
