Chapter 1530: Mary needs purification!

”Ahmm~”

Morgana stretched her body as she stepped off the massive dome after an exhausting stretch of work, joints popping softly while fatigue seeped deep into her bones.

Her gaze drifted lazily across the departing workers, all of them dragging their feet, shoulders slumped.

”Maintaining these things is really a pain in the ass,” Morgana muttered, lips twisting with mild irritation as she rolled her stiff neck.

She let out a slow breath and rubbed the bridge of her nose, ”Still, we cannot afford another mole scurrying around like the previous incident.”

”My Queen.”

Morgana turned her head slightly to the side, where a burly orc was bowing deeply with respect, his gravelly voice rumbling as he announced, ”The workers have left the dome, and all assigned personnel are accounted for. Shall I proceed with sealing it?”

Morgana glanced behind her once more, eyes narrowing as she surveyed the interior. Boxes upon boxes were stacked inside reinforced containers, layered so high they resembled walls of metal and wood. Armed guards stood between them like unmoving statues.

She nodded slowly, ”As usual, make sure not a single soul enters this place. If anything goes missing, I will know.” With a snap of her fingers, her form dissolved, space folding around her as she vanished from the dome.

In the next instant, Morgana reappeared inside the mansion, her boots clicking sharply against polished floors as she walked with brisk steps through the grand halls.

”I haven’t heard a single word from sis in all this time... She just popped out of nowhere, dumped every single job onto my shoulders with that infuriating nonchalance, claiming she was off to have some fun a few days ago, and then poof—she vanished without a trace,” Morgana grumbled.

Her sigh grew heavier as she pressed a palm to her forehead, irritation blending with worry. ”What in the world could she possibly be doing? It has already been days, and silence is never a good sign with her.”

As she moved down the corridor, a strange sound echoed faintly through the halls, distorted and unpleasant enough to make her steps slow.

”ARRrrrhhhhh!!!!”

”Wrrrrrrrllllllll!!!”

”COUGH, COUGH!!”

Morgana flinched involuntarily, her body tensing as she tilted her head toward the source coming from the nearby bathroom, ”Sis? Is that you in there, making those awful noises—”

”VVWWWWRRR!”

That wicked, choking sound sent a chill straight down her spine. Without hesitation, Morgana kicked the door open, wood slamming against the wall as she rushed inside. Her eyes widened at the sight before her... Lia was crouched over the toilet, body trembling as she vomited violently into it, retching like her insides were being torn out.

”Vrrrrrrrr!!”

”Sis!” Morgana froze for a split second. Seeing her like this for the first time made her heart clench painfully as she rushed to her side, crouching down despite the sour, stomach-turning stench filling the room.

Lia slowly lifted her head, eyes red and glassy, strands of hair stuck to her damp face.

”Oh? Morgana...” Lia murmured weakly, voice hoarse and distant as if dragged from the depths of something ugly.

”Are you alright? What happened to you?” Morgana asked urgently, one hand hovering near Lia’s back. Her voice wavered between concern and disbelief as her eyes searched for wounds, poison, or... any sign of an attack!

Lia shook her head slowly, teeth clenched as her body shuddered again. ”No, I... I am not. Ha... Ha... I need to purify myself. I feel disgusting, inside and out, like something rotten crawled through me and refused to leave.” Her fingers trembled as she wiped her mouth in frustration.

Morgana blinked in confusion as she tried to piece together the meaning behind those words.

Lia lifted her gaze, eyes trembling with a mixture of shame and fury.

”I can still feel it,” she said through clenched teeth, voice cracking as nausea surged again. ”Those things are still lingering on my lips. The taste is still there, thick and filthy, like it branded me. I can feel that fucking taste no matter how much I try to spit it out.

Arhh!!!”

Morgana recoiled slightly, disturbed by both the words and the raw emotion behind them. ”Sis, I honestly do not understand what you are saying,” she said carefully, worry deepening as her voice softened. ”You are scaring me, and that alone is not easy to do.”

Lia forced herself to stand, legs shaking but resolve burning in her eyes. ”Guess only she can purify me now,” she said coldly, disgust curling her lips as she turned away.

Without another word, she stormed out of the restroom.

Morgana remained frozen for a moment, staring after her in disbelief. ”What was that even about?” she muttered under her breath, shaking her head as she hurried after Lia.

Her voice rose as she followed her down the hall. ”Sis, just tell me what happened. Where have you been for the past few days? And what do you even mean when you say you want to purify yourself?”

Lia kept walking without answering, her steps steady and uncaring as she crossed past a towering pillar. For a brief moment, her form flickered, light bending unnaturally around her silhouette.

When she emerged on the other side, the cute blonde-haired girl was no longer there.

In her place walked a tall, mature woman, her figure distorted and half-erased by thick black blurs that clung to her body like living shadows.

Only her crimson eyes remained clear, glowing gently through the darkness, while faint golden particles shimmered around her before vanishing into nothingness.

”Sis! Tell me!” Morgana shouted as she kept following her, ”Stop ignoring me and explain yourself!”

Yet Mary did not respond. She continued forward until she reached a door, her movements suddenly careful, almost reverent. Slowly, gently, she pushed it open.

Inside the room...

The Real Lia lay peacefully on the bed, wrapped beneath the quilt.

”Oh, sweet one,” Mary whispered, ”Mommy missed you so much. You have no idea how lonely it has been.”

She stepped closer as if the slightest sound might shatter the fragile moment.

”Sis, what the fuck happened to you out there—” Morgana started.

”Sshhh!”

Mary hissed, turning just enough for her glowing eyes to glare. Morgana clicked her tongue in irritation but folded her arms tightly across her chest, swallowing her anger as she stood back and watched.

Mary did not move again for several long seconds, her gaze locked entirely on her sleeping daughter as if nothing else in the world existed.

Then, slowly, Mary drifted closer to the bed. ”Only she can purify my lips,” she murmured, her gaze locking onto Lia’s slightly parted mouth, the soft pink flesh glistening faintly in the lamplight. Her voice dropped to a fevered whisper. ”Only my perfect, innocent daughter can wash away this filth.”

For reasons Morgana couldn’t name, a chill crawled up her spine.

”Ha... ha... ha...”

Mary’s breathing grew ragged, heavy pants that filled the quiet room like a predator drawing near. Her blurred body trembled visibly now, heat radiating from her in waves, black swirls churning faster around her form as though barely containing something feral beneath.

She inched closer still, lips parting, tongue flicking out to wet them deliberately.

”Please forgive me, my darling... for taking this while you sleep,” Mary breathed, a wicked, trembling smile curling behind the veil of darkness that hid her face.

”But Mommy really needs your sweet lips right now... to purify this cheating, filthy mother of yours. Please... forgive me~” A low, broken giggle escaped her, equal parts adoration and madness.

She was going to claim those same lips she had kissed so many times when Lia was small—innocent pecks on the forehead, the cheek, the corner of the mouth.

Now she hungered for them in a way that twisted everything sacred into something vile and ravenous.... She was going to fucking love it, savour every second of that forbidden contact~

Mary licked her lips again, slower this time, tongue dragging purposefully, ’To think my own daughter is the one destined to cleanse me... what a beautiful, twisted world this is,’ she thought, eyes glistening with tears of twisted gratitude.

’I’m so glad... every mother should be this lucky, to be purified by her own flesh and blood. Maybe I should thank that bastard after all—for giving me this wonderful opportunity!’

She leaned down, lips hovering mere inches from Lia’s, trembling on the edge of contact—

”Amm...”

Lia frowned in her sleep, nose twitching as though some faint, revolting scent had reached her. With a small, unconscious murmur, she turned her head away, cheek pressing deeper into the pillow... lips now safely out of reach!

”...”

Mary froze, statue-still, for several agonising seconds.

Then her crimson eyes widened in pure devastation.

”My daughter... hates me!!!” she nearly wailed, only catching the scream behind her hand at the last instant so she wouldn’t wake the girl.

She glanced frantically at Lia... still sleeping, only a tiny twitch of discomfort.

Mary’s shoulders shook as tears welled and spilled down her blurred cheeks. ”My daughter hates me now... I ruined everything. I ruined it all.

She doesn’t want to kiss her poor, lonely, beautiful mother anymore,” she sobbed in a cracked, theatrical whisper, voice thick with melodramatic despair.

”Aweweee... who’s going to purify me? This is so wrong! Oh gods, what sin have I committed to deserve this rejection?

No one can cleanse me. No one can forgive me.

Please... forgive this innocent woman!!” Her cries were broken, pitiful, almost comically over-the-top.

She bowed her head, crying quietly, her body trembling as guilt and madness tangled together inside her.

”...” Morgana stood there, blankly watching Mary’s theatrics unfold, her face stiff with disbelief. Inside her head, her thoughts spiraled in pure irritation. ’Why the fuck am I even here?’ she wondered bitterly, questioning every life choice that had led her to witness this deranged drama instead of collapsing into bed.

Mary sniffed loudly, patting her own chest in dramatic self-comfort as fresh tears rolled down her blurred cheeks.

”D-Don’t worry, Mary... you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s all that bastard’s fault—he forced you, defiled you, made you impure! You’re innocent... completely innocent. Your daughter will understand eventually. She’ll see how deep her mother’s love really is... sniff... sniff...One day.... definitely.... sniff, sniff... ” She wiped at her eyes with trembling fingers, voice cracking.

”B-But who’s going to purify me now?” Mary whimpered, her voice rising in panic. ”I still feel so filthy... so disgusting... That’s it. If my own daughter won’t accept me, then I have no choice.

I’ll give my life to prove my love and my purity! Take me, gods... take this wretched woman’s life so her daughter can finally accept who she truly was... aswwweeee...”

”... Bitch, stop,” Morgana snapped flatly, her face contorting with open disgust as her patience finally shattered.

Mary sniffed again and turned toward Morgana, blinking as if she had only just noticed her presence.

”B-But my daughter, my love... she rejected me,” she said weakly. ”I have nobody to—” Her words abruptly stopped. Her crimson eyes sharpened, locking onto Morgana with sudden, unnerving focus.

”...” Morgana frowned, a chill crawling up her spine under that stare. Something felt very wrong. ’I think... I need to run,’ She had barely finished the thought when—

In a blink, Mary was right there... impossibly close, faces almost touching, only a hair’s breadth separating them.

Morgana flinched hard. ”S-Sis, what are you doing?”

”I see...” Mary whispered, voice low and reverent. ”So this is it. This is what it means to have a loyal little sister by your side... when your own daughter abandons you in your darkest hour.”

”Sis?” Morgana took a cautious step backwards, but before she could retreat any further, two strong hands shot forward and clamped around her face and....
