Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 1288: This bastard really was pissed off and showing off right now.

Two doom barriers were covering the Empire, one stopping the Clarion energy from entering the doom inside, while the other pushed out the Arcane energy.

These two were working perfectly; there was nothing wrong with them. People were slowly returning to the usual, everything seemed fine... however, that could not be said outside of the barrier!

Outside the Barrier, those things were in serious trouble.

The outside was covered in storm and dust as weird black mixed with white clouds started to form out of nowhere, and golden lightning began to echo around as if something violent... something wicked was happening there. The air itself rippled like fabric being torn apart, the scent of burning ash carried through the winds, as if the world beyond the wall was decaying in slow motion.

THUUNNDDDEERRRR!!!

The Doom Barriers trembled under the sheer force of the thunder... not only that, the sky too turned dark and misty blue... like a haze that could not be lifted.

The trees had already withered into twisted husks, the animals had already mutated into grotesque shapes, crawling and screeching in pain... and the people turned into wicked monsters that clawed at their own skins, driven by madness.

Victor and the others watched the live footage with serious faces as he glanced at Raven, ”What’s the problem?”

Raven looked at Lyirrs, who quickly shifted the panel. The screen flickered and revealed the scene.... clouds storming outside furiously, twisting into chaotic spirals as if something was at war with each other.

”Both energies are colliding,” Raven said.

Victor nodded slowly. Of course, he knew it was going to happen—after all, those two bitches were so fucked up!

Lyirrs and the others blinked, their eyes widening in disbelief.

”What?” Victor frowned. He wondered why they looked so shocked about it... he had predicted this.

Of course, he made the barrier stronger... strong enough to withstand the collision of the two energies. His mind replayed the calculations he had done himself, the confidence he once held.

Lyirrs hesitated before muttering, her voice trembling with restrained fear, ”Forgive me for my impudence, but... the calculations say if those collisions strike the barrier again, there will be a fifty percent chance that... it will break.”

Victor raised his eyebrows in shock, ”My calculation is wrong?” His frown deepened, the words heavier than any thunder outside.

Lyirrs flinched as she kneeled, her voice faltering, feeling she was questioning her Emperor’s brilliance, a sin in itself. Her forehead pressed against the floor, but Victor ignored her shame as he walked closer to the console. He pressed a few buttons, the clicking sound echoing in the tense silence. The entire chamber felt as if time itself had been halted, every eye fixed on his hands until Victor blinked in shock...

Yup... he made a freaking mistake!

After all, his calculations were based on the energies he was encountering, while... Arcane was still present inside the doom.

That meant... the current situation had altered far more than he first anticipated. His face turned slightly pale as his fingers tapped against the console, each tap echoing like a clock counting down.

His eyes narrowed, mind racing, drowning in formulas and variables that bent like shadows in firelight. A thoughtful expression carved itself into his face.

Lyirrs, still lowering her head, whispered with a breaking voice, ”Please forgive me, Sir, I should have known... I... I should hav—” before she could finish, Victor softly touched her head.

Lyirrs blinked, tilting her head with mild shock, her breath caught in her throat as her brown eyes flickered up.

Victor said in a soft yet powerful tone, carrying the weight of an Emperor who bore the fate of the Empire, ”No need to fret, Lyirrs. Leave the rest to your Emperor.”

Lyirrs blinked again before a small blush crept across her face, and she nodded hurriedly, ”Of course, Sir!”

Victor smiled softly as he turned to... the others... obviously, they were staring daggers at him, their gazes burning with a dangerous sharpness.

Victor blinked inwardly, ’I just petted her head...’ he screamed inside his mind before shaking his head. His wives’ jealousy sometimes truly questioned the sanity of mortals—how they still managed to remain sane with that kind of possessiveness was beyond reason.

Anyway, he looked at the monitor again as the visuals of the storm and thunder clouds pressed closer and closer to the doom, their monstrous swirls dragging the sky into chaos.

He glanced at the others, ”I guess... it’s time I need to give something” he muttered, and then a grin curved across his lips while the others frowned in confusion and unease.

Victor instantly disappeared from that place... and in the very next second, he appeared outside of the doom, his figure caught by the monitors that lit up with his image.

”What is he doing?”

Everyone frowned. Raven, however, kept staring at the visuals before glancing at Lyirrs. She immediately nodded, her fingers racing across the console, and instantly the visuals flickered and spread—appearing all over the Empire.

The people, who were grieving and only just beginning to return to their old lives, flinched in shock when their Emperor suddenly appeared in the live broadcast.

Standing tall upon the edge of a jagged cliff... his white hair flowed wildly in the storm, his cloak and garments whipped violently in the roaring winds, yet he stood there, unmoving. His eyes fixed ahead, calm and sharp... staring at the horizon.

Their eyes widened when they saw it too—those monstrous lightning clouds, swelling larger, drawing closer to the doom like predators circling prey.

”What’s going on now?”

”Please... God... no more... eee—”

Some voices broke into trembling prayers, others collapsed into pleading cries. After all, they had suffered too much already, their hearts scarred from endless torment.

But then—

THUNDDDERRRRRR!!!!!

A humongous mountain was shattered into countless fragments... no, it was destroyed without even leaving a trace, obliterated when the golden lightning struck it. The heavens themselves split open with the blast.

”OH GOD!!!!”

”NOO!!!”

Faces turned pale, screams echoing as terror clutched their throats. If a single bolt of that golden lightning was capable of such destruction, then surely it could tear through the Doom Barrier itself, reduce it to nothing.

And if it did... what then?

Was that the reason their Emperor was standing outside, facing the storm alone?

Meanwhile, Victor stared at the ashed mountains. He hummed thoughtfully before shaking his head, ”The collision was harder than I thought...” he muttered, realising this was not what he had expected.

Perhaps the removal of Arcane and the stopping of the Clarion energy had increased the intensity.

Something he did not foresee before!

He clicked his tongue, frustration biting his tone, before saying,

”What’s your problem? Huh? Don’t you feel pity for these people? Arcane... or Mother? Even if it was just a game to you... to them, this was their life. You treat them like toys, breaking and tossing them aside whenever it amuses you. But everything has a line...” His voice rose, echoing across the Empire with thunder in his words, ”The so-called Gods!”.

THUNDDDERRRR!!!

The golden lightning struck the mountain beside him, reducing it to rubble in a single flash.

Was it a warning?

A challenge?

His body flared with purple energy, sparks bursting outward as if the storm within him had awakened.

Was he truly going to raise his hand against the gods?

Victor raised his hand, his lips curving into a small smirk,

”I don’t know what your endgame is, but... if you dare to hurt my beloved people... remember, even if you are gods...” His entire body glowed with crackling purple sparks, arcs of living lightning snaking across his skin.

Flares leaked from him like living flames as he added, his voice dropping into a murderous tone,

”Death will be your least mercy!”

Everyone in the Empire halted their breath for a second... as if the very act of breathing might break the silence of his declaration.

Could they believe what they just heard?

A man, their Emperor, daring to curse the gods themselves?

Just then, as if reacting to his words, the dark black clouds mixed with streaks of white began to glow. A dangerous white light spread outward, brighter, sharper, until—

THUNDERRRRRRR!!

A sharp and fast golden lightning bolt shot directly toward the doom!!

Everyone flinched, collapsing to the ground, hands pressed over their heads as if they themselves had been struck by it. For a heartbeat, there was nothing—only silence. They blinked, eyes wide, and slowly looked up... and saw—

A streak of purple lightning, Victor’s power, holding the golden lightning in midair, gripping it like a living serpent. Victor smirked, his eyes gleaming, ”Is that all?” he muttered with a wicked tone.

But before his words could fade, another lightning bolt screamed down from the heavens, rushing straight for him!

”N-NO!!”

Nyx almost panicked, her voice breaking, but none of the others reacted. Even Nightfire, calm yet sharp, didn’t move. She simply exhaled and said, ”Tsk, you’ll get used to it,” her tone half tired, half alert, as though she had seen this before.

Nyx blinked, confused, then looked back at the visuals. Her eyes widened as she saw... Victor, holding the second lightning bolt with his other hand, barehanded, a wicked smile carved across his face.

The clouds trembled violently, as if enraged by his defiance, and then—

Numerous lightning bolts fell at once, raining upon Victor’s body. A continuous storm of golden lightning struck him again and again, hammering him with divine wrath.

THUNDER!

THUNDER!

THUNDER!

THUNDER!

THUNDER!

Everyone’s faces turned pale, horrified. Their voices broke into screams:

”N-No, Emperor!”

”MY EMPEROR!!”

”YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE GONE AGAINST THE GODS!!!”

”GODS, PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON HIM!!”

The cries rose across the Empire as they watched the impossible scene—lightning too fast and too bright for their eyes to follow. The visuals blurred with smoke, burning arcs, and violent flashes. All they could see was their Emperor’s figure swallowed by the storm, roasted alive in divine lightning... the smoke curling upward.

Nyx clenched her fist, almost ready to move out, but then Xara held her as she stared at the bright white light that was the only thing visible for now.

”He will die at this rate,” Nyx said with an indifferent edge.

Xara nodded. ”Indeed...” That single word made everyone flinch. Then she added, quieter, ”But... he is not like us.” As she finished speaking, the glaring white light that had been blinding the visuals slowly died out, revealing a man standing on the cliff.

No, the mountain had already been destroyed; what remained on the monitor was just a man in barely hanging, burned clothes, his skin white as milk. There was no hint of wounds or scratches. He smirked while his hands erupted with purple lightning that held the golden lightning, like an octopus that had snared its prey with all its tentacles.

Nyx was surprised. ”He defended all of it? Without a scratch?”

Not only her, but everyone across the Empire watched in stunned silence. Their Emperor continued to perform miracle after miracle before their eyes.

However, Xara muttered, ”Defended,” her expression turning sly and wicked,

”He sucked them out.”

”Huh?”

Everyone around her gasped as they watched the visuals where purple lightning was drawing the golden lightning inward, siphoning its energy without hesitation.

The reason it attacked Victor was not that it was simply angry. Rather, Victor had seized it like a prisoner.

Victor wickedly smiled. ”Was this all you can do?” he said, his eyes glowing with white energy.

His hands sucked at the power as veins pulsed across his body; heat and electric light crawled over him in living patterns. So hot, so dangerous, it made women feel their throats tighten and their heads spin.

His muscles tensed, veins standing out like cords; everything about him hardened as he took everything into himself.

Suddenly, Lyirrs noticed the Clarion energy’s spread rate spike dramatically.

”What’s going on here?” she wondered aloud as she watched the percentage climb—now it had jumped to eighty percent.

Xara hummed, thinking, ”Maybe... the collision appeared because the energies were not evenly distributed.” Her tone held both confusion and dawning realisation.

Selene blinked, then spoke as understanding clicked into place. ”Oh, don’t tell me... the collision happened because Clarion energy was weak on one side, since it was only just spreading, while Arcane energy on the other side was strong and rejected anything dangerous before it could equalise.... So he held the collision... he stopped their fight and let Clarion spread? That is why it happened.”

Xara nodded, satisfaction settling into her expression as her daughter explained it correctly. Everyone else began to nod in understanding.

Emberlyn blinked, then stared at Victor and muttered, ”So all of this, Emperor deduced it in a few moments?”

Xara smirked as she flipped her hair.

””””””Of course... That’s my husband””””””

Not only she but others echoed that pride, mimicking the same ridiculous hair flip as if it were a signal of triumph.

Everyone blinked and looked at one another, then laughter bubbled up.

”Hahah!”

Nightfire added, ”Haha... I honestly thought that bastard just got pissed off and wanted to show off his style... hahaha,” she chuckled to herself, realising how low her expectations had been.

She should have trusted him more.

Meanwhile, Victor, whose body drank the energy, ’You fucking bitch, take this all... I am going to suck you all dry... ahahaha... how is it? My body is fucking awesome, right? I am going to fill with all of you and blast it back at you!!’ He grinned with a wicked tone.

Yup... this bastard really was pissed off and showing off right now.
