Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 751: [Bonus (•‿•)] Maybe he is the fault here?

”Ouch”

Aether winced, his fingers gently rubbing his red cheeks, where a clear handprint was left behind. He let out a small sigh, shaking his head. ”Maybe I overdid it there...” he muttered inwardly. Slowly, he walked out of the mansion’s garden, his mind clouded with thoughts. He needed air—fresh air—after everything that had just happened.

He knew that kissing her had been pushing it too far, that he should have waited, played his cards right, but... Aether understood one thing—she would never see him as a man unless he made a bold move.

Something undeniable!

Something that would shake her. But to be fair... he didn’t even kiss her lips. Just below. Just a few micromillimeters below. It wasn’t a real kiss—barely even a touch. Just a fleeting grace of his lips, not even pressed, just barely there.

And yet, it was still a kiss. And it was still wrong.

If he had simply told her with words, she would have scoffed and brushed him off like a foolish child. That’s why he needed to hit her with something stronger... A deep, unforgettable stimulus that would force her to see him differently.

He had to make her understand—he wasn’t just some kid trailing after her.

”But now she’s pissed... hmm... How the hell do I fix this?” Aether rubbed his temples, feeling the situation had spiralled completely off the charts.

This wasn’t like anything before... Even after that small grace—if he could even call it a kiss—he hadn’t felt a spark between them.

Nothing shifted!

Nothing changed!!

”Am I missing something?” he wondered aloud, before turning his attention to his log... For now, he needed to push aside the mess in his head and focus on his task.

’Connect to Aqualina and Celestia,’ Aether commanded inwardly.

In the previous timeline, his connection with them had never worked. But now, after the upgrade, it seemed that restriction was gone.

No more barriers. No more distance. He could reach them from anywhere.

”Of course not, you idiot!” Aether snapped, rolling his eyes. ”Here I thought you were finally going to be useful, and yet—utterly disappointing!” He snorted in irritation.

”Honestly, what a letdown. I was hoping for some cool, plot-armored connection moment, but no... Just another roadblock. What a bummer!”

[....]

”What?”

[... tsk, Nothing😒]

Aether’s lips twitched. ”Oh? Someone’s getting cocky, huh?” He smirked, cracking his knuckles. ”You sure you wanna go down this road? You’ll regret it.”

The log remained silent for a moment before he suddenly remembered something that made his veins pop.

”Wait! I just remembered the fucking scam!! Why the hell do you need 1,000,000,000 just for a single level-up?!” Aether nearly screamed.

[Tsk, here I thought he’d forget about it… Anyway, it is what it is!]

Aether’s eye twitched violently. ”What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

[Sigh… Come on, Aether. Do you have to complain about everything? Do you even realize how much I do for you? All the times I’ve helped you? You know how hard—don’t you feel even the slightest bit of empathy for—]

”Oi? You’re starting to sound like a real scammer now...” Aether’s lips twitched.

[...Log needs rest... Goodbye!]

And just like a true scammer, the Log turned silent, completely ignoring him.

”Oi, motherfu—”

”Aether~”

Before he could finish his curse, a soft, sweet voice interrupted him. Then, out of nowhere, Selene jumped on him, wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzling into his chest like a spoiled kitten.

”I missed youuuu~” she whined, squeezing him tighter.

Aether chuckled, his hand instinctively moving to pat her back. ”I was only gone for a day, you know.”

”Hmm... still, it felt too long~” she pouted before pinching his cheeks playfully and gazing up at him with those mischievous eyes.

”Hmm?” Aether tilted his head, amused.

Selene grinned widely. ”You were amazing~ When you left the Empire... Oh my god!! Aether! I almost wanted to scream, ’That’s my husband!’ right then and there!” Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she clenched her fists dramatically. ”You were on fire! I mean—pure flames! That was some top-tier, breathtaking, jaw-dropping stuff!”

Aether let out a soft chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. ”Don’t worry… It’s only a matter of time. Soon, you’ll be able to shout as much as you want.”

Selene blinked, caught off guard by his words. ”Wait… You mean…”

Aether nodded, his gaze turning firm. ”I’ve had enough of hiding. It’s time to end this play.” He reached out, gently ruffling her hair, his touch lingering just a little longer.

He had been thinking about this for a long time.... Even before the previous iteration, he had considered it.

But back then, he hesitated. He let doubt hold him back.

Not anymore.

If he kept hiding, it would only complicate things further—not just for him, but for the people he cherished.... His beloveds!

And Aether had no intention of making the same mistakes again.

Selene softly smiled as she watched Aether lost in thought, clearly deep in contemplation about the future.

She admired that about him—how he always carried so much responsibility, even when he didn’t have to. But then, her gaze fell on the distinct red handprint on his cheek, and her smile instantly vanished. Her expression darkened, turning eerily cold, her eyes narrowing dangerously.

”Which bitch?” she asked in a chillingly emotionless voice, her tone sharp like a blade.

Aether glanced at her before replying flatly, ”Your mother.”

”Oh?… Oh.” Selene blinked, her expression shifting in real time as her cheeks turned crimson with deep embarrassment. ”W-Well… It’s Mother… Shit,” she muttered under her breath, mentally kicking herself for her immediate reaction.

But then she frowned, tilting her head in confusion. ”Wait, why? She’s not the kind of person who would hit you without a reason,” her scepticism was clear as she studied him.

Aether let out a tired sigh before recounting the entire story, his voice laced with frustration. As he spoke, Selene reached out and gently massaged his sore cheek with her soft fingers, her touch featherlight yet lingering.

’Hmm… They say licking it makes it feel better, right?’ she mused to herself, her dark blue eyes fixed on the red imprint marring his skin. Her lips parted slightly, and almost unconsciously, she licked them—slowly, seductively.

Who knew what wicked thoughts were running through her mind at that moment?

After listening to the full story, Selene nodded in understanding. ”I see…”

”If it were Celestia, she would’ve at least given me an idea of what I’m missing,” Aether muttered, his jaw clenching slightly.

Celestia was always by his side. She understood him better than anyone—hell, better than he understood himself.

Selene’s lips twitched... As much as she wanted to disagree, she couldn’t.

Celestia had been the one who made her realize just who Aether truly was, what he was capable of.

That woman had an almost terrifying ability to see through everything, catching onto things even before Aether himself did. If anyone could point out what he was overlooking, it was her.

’I really hate that bitch!’ Selene fumed inwardly, her teeth grinding slightly as the image of Celestia’s smug, knowing grin appeared in her mind. That woman always clung to Aether like he was her personal possession like she was the only one who had the right to stay by his side.

She stole a glance at Aether. His face looked tense, his expression carrying the weight of exhaustion and tense.

Selene shook her head, her brows furrowing. ”That face…”

”Hmm?” Aether turned to her, frowning slightly.

”That face… You’ve shown it before. The same expression that used to make me feel lonely…” she mumbled as if she had stumbled upon a realization she couldn’t quite put into words.

”What are you saying, Selene?” Aether asked cautiously, his voice low, careful.

Selene turned her gaze to the sky, watching the clouds drift by, her fingers lightly tracing small circles on his arm. ”Before you accepted me… you used to have that same look, Aether. A tense, exhausted face, like you were trying to force something that wasn’t there…” Her eyes slowly trailed back to him, her voice soft yet certain. ”I think… it’s because you don’t see her as a woman.”

Aether blinked, caught completely off guard. His lips parted slightly, but no words came out.

Selene, as if realizing something deeper, shook her head. ”No… It’s worse than before. You’re holding something back, something heavier. I don’t know what it is, Aether… I’m sorry.” Her fingers curled slightly, frustration evident in her voice. She couldn’t put it into words, but one thing was clear—Aether didn’t see her mother as a woman.

Aether remained silent for a moment before exhaling slowly. ”I see…” he murmured, his mind racing to process his own thoughts.

Was he really making that mistake?

Selene studied his face before biting her lower lip, hesitant yet determined. ”The collision… Was it because you didn’t complete the mission?” She narrowed her eyes slightly. Because no matter how one looked at it, the timing was too perfect. The collision had appeared right after the mission was left unfinished... That couldn’t be a coincidence, right?

Aether met her gaze, his eyes unreadable. ”A part of it.”

Selene bit her lip even harder before whispering, ”If you need help, please ask me, Aether… I’ll do anything for you.”

Aether’s lips curved into a warm smile. ”I know.”

A moment of silence passed between them. Then, without warning, Selene tilted her head slightly and smirked mischievously. ”Anyway… Can I lick it?” as her intrusive thoughts finally won!

Aether blinked, slightly confused. ”Lick what?”

Before he could react, Selene lunged at him.

”W-Wait!! Selene!!”

Her tongue traced along his cheek, hot and wet against the sensitive skin.

”S-Sel! Others will see u—”

”Don’t worry, they left to rebuild the territory… or whatever. Just showing their gratitude and all,” she shrugged, unfazed, before licking him again, slower this time, letting her tongue linger against his skin.

’That explains why no one’s in the mansion…’ Aether thought, exhaling sharply as his fingers instinctively gripped the grass beneath him.

Selene’s lips curled into a devilish smile. ”Don’t worry… I’ll heal it soon~” Her voice dripped with seduction as she straddled him properly, rubbing her plump ass against his crotch while her tongue continued trailing across his cheek, hot and deliberate.

Aether’s hands instinctively found her waist. ”Selene…”

But she just grinned, grinding herself against him even more.

”Shh~ Just let me take care of you, Aether~”
