[Your compatibility has reached its peak, and your soul is now fully integrated. As a result, ####### has been unlocked.]

[Skill: #######>>>> Clarion Energy]

!~Ding~!

[Skill: Clarion Energy]

[Effect: One of the Primordial Energies, Clarion Energy is among the oldest and purest forms of energy in existence.]

[Additional Benefits: Arcane Energy Substitute – serves as a perfect replacement for Arcane Energy, capable of performing all the functions Arcane provides. Particularly beneficial for purifying curses with ease, and fills voids where Arcane Energy cannot reach.]

[Limitations: Arcane will be angry with you! No one can use this energy without a blessing!]

Aether nodded slowly, absorbing the information, ʼSo… this is what I received from Helena… The purest… Motherʼs Energy…ʼ He whispered inwardly, his lips curving slightly, though a frown quickly took over, ʼBut why? Why didnʼt the compatibility reach 100%? I felt everything… lived through every moment… so whatʼs left? What am I still missing?ʼ he thought.

His fingers clenched tightly around the thick, silken fur of Liora, her powerful body moving effortlessly beneath him as she sprinted through the forest in her wolf form. They were heading back to the Academy, but his thoughts were miles away, focused on the peculiarities of his bloodline.

With a furrowed brow, he tried to select his race status, but nothing happened, ʼEther bloodline? Why wonʼt this work? show me something!ʼ His confusion deepened, ʼI used to think… maybe I was connected to the Origin Emperor…ʼ He paused, recalling the revelations of the past, ʼbut that was wrong. No… it wasnʼt me, but rather that old woman… Sheʼs the one descended from the Origin Emperor…ʼ

He absentmindedly touched the ring hanging around his neck. Before he could delve deeper into that thought,

[Soul: This attribute is unique to you and represents the balance between the Umbra (890) and Ethereal (255) Domains. It indicates which domain is more dominant and how it might influence or taint your soul when calling your card. This attribute cannot be increased by Affection points. The higher the value, the less effective soul attacks will be against you.

Additionally, soul spells will no longer affect you.]

!~Ding~!

[Note: The numbers 890/255 do not represent the number of hateful souls or good deeds, but rather reflect the worth of their individuality.]

[Warning: Currently, your soul is damaged due to the usage of your bloodline ability. You cannot access anything related to your soul.]

[Warning: Log advises you to avoid dangerous activities, including sex, until your soul and body have stabilized in the current reality.]

Aether couldnʼt help but scoff at that last one. ʼI think thatʼs a bit personal, donʼt you think? Log?ʼ he thought, fully expecting silence.

Yet,

[... No]

His eyebrows shot up, ”Cheeky...” he muttered, ʼFine. Tell me, is the weather at least good, Log?ʼ he thought, testing how far he could push this mysterious system.

This time, the Log remained silent.

ʼLooks like youʼre slowly reacting…ʼ Aether thought with a sigh, his mind shifting back to his current predicament. His gaze flicked over his soul level, and he sighed again deeper this time, ʼIt seems I need to increase my Ethereal side.ʼ

He knew that he had slaughtered thousands in the Dragon Army, but he hadnʼt expected his Umbra side to have those souls even after returning to this timeline.

ʼLooks like I canʼt undo these things… whether killing or doing good deeds..ʼ he mused, staring at his survival rate, which had increased significantly, ʼIs dying the answer, then?ʼ His eyes flicked to the timer showing his remaining time.... it had decreased drastically, but the thought of death didnʼt shake him as much as it once had.

And finally,

!~Ding~!

[Liora Darkfang has been removed from Seduction. She was your last checkpoint, and you cannot return to this point anymore. However, you can still access her weapon.]

Aetherʼs eyes narrowed, ʼI see…ʼ He glanced at Liora, still running steadily through the dense woods. His mind raced with possibilities. ʼSo, if I die now… my next checkpoint would be the day I seduced Helena, right?ʼ

!~Ding~!

[Yes. Your last Seduction will be your latest checkpoint.]

Aether nodded, a sense of calm washing over him, ʼMind telling me how I can return if I die? Is this related to my Ether bloodline?ʼ.

But this time, the Log was silent.

He sighed, realizing that the answers he sought wouldnʼt come so easily. With a resigned breath, Aether switched gears and asked the one question that had been nagging at him since their journey began, ʼTell me how I can use Lioraʼs and Stellaʼs weapons.ʼ He had little hope, but he needed to know.

!~Ding~!

[In order to utilize Liora Darkfang, your strength needs to reach at least 800.]

ʼWhat about Stella?ʼ

ʼ....ʼ

ʼHello?ʼ he prompted again, but the silence stretched on.

Getting no answer from the Log, Aether cursed under his breath and navigated to his mission tab. His eyes widened in surprise as he read:

[Mission: Save and Seduce Raven Noir]

ʼDidnʼt I fail---?ʼ Aether blinked, momentarily lost in thought, but before he could dwell on it further, a sudden jarring sensation snapped him back to the present.

SSShhhhrrrr!!

”Whoa!” Aether nearly lost his balance as Liora, in her wolf form, came to an abrupt halt. He frowned, glancing at her. Her body was tense, her ears twitching back and forth as she scanned their surroundings with a sharp, vigilant gaze.

”Is there some—” Aether began to ask, but Liora interrupted him.

”Did you hear that?” Her voice was low, cautious.

”Hmm?” Aether tilted his head.

”The horn sound,” she clarified, her eyes narrowing as she focused on something unseen.

Aether frowned, his own senses heightened as he tried to pick up on whatever she was hearing, ”Horn sound?” he repeated, straining to focus.

But all he could hear was the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze and the occasional chirp of birds in the distance!!

”I donʼt hear—” he started to say but stopped mid-sentence when his ears suddenly caught something faint, barely audible but distinct.

hhhhoonnkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

It wasnʼt loud or forceful, rather, it was a distant echo, as though it was resonating from beyond the empireʼs borders, carried on the wind.

Aetherʼs curiosity piqued, ”Does another empire use horns that echo like that?” His brow furrowed as he turned to Liora, hoping she had an answer.

She shook her head, her expression just as perplexed, ”I donʼt know,” she shrugged, clearly as unsure as he was.

But for some reason, she didnʼt like the sound but soon the sound died.... her mind calmed and Just as she was about to move again, she froze mid-step.

”Whatʼs wrong now?” He followed her gaze, slowly lifting his head to the sky above them.

High above, against the brightness of the daylight, a pair of obsidian eyes materialized in the sky.

The pupils were pitch black—voids that swallowed all light... and they were staring directly at them.

No, not them.... At him!!

Lioraʼs frown deepened as she murmured, ”Void Eyes… during the day?” Her tone was thick with unease, ”Thatʼs rare.”

Meanwhile,

...

Aether was utterly flabbergasted as one notification after another appeared, each more unsettling than the last.

His body remained frozen, his mind struggling to process the sheer magnitude of what was happening.

The eyes in the sky, unblinking and soulless, seemed to regard him for a moment longer before, slowly, they began to dissipate. As the obsidian pupils faded from view, the bombardment of notifications ceased.

Aether was like, ʼWhat the fuck just happened? What did I do to that unknown shit?... Arhh! Fuck! Whatever!ʼ
