[BL] After SSS-rank mage reborn as the Legendary Craftsman

Chapter 85: I Want to Eat Grilled Lizard

Kang Ian stepped out of the cloud of dust and debris.

His coat was torn in several places, and his always-neat black hair was now tousled by the wind. The fragments of stone floating around him slowly fell to the ground, but his platinum-colored eyes remained locked on Kai’s half-human, half-dragon form and the small figure of Kei standing beside him.

Kai immediately bared his teeth, his wings spreading wide in a display of caution.

”You still dare to step forward? I spared you just now!”

”What are you talking about?” Kei quickly grabbed Kai’s arm covered in black scales. ”Stop it, Kai.”

”But he bit your cheek! He’s despicable!”

Kai pointed at the red bite mark on Kei’s cheek, his expression so furious that the two horns on his head trembled, almost about to stand straight up.

”I’ll handle that with Kang Ian myself. Don’t fight anymore, the whole area around here is about to be completely destroyed!”

”No. I have to bite him back, that bastard human...”

”Don’t bite anyone! You’re not a dog!”

Kei pulled hard on Kai’s arm, forcing him to obediently back down. The black dragon was still sulking, but when he saw the serious look on Kei’s face, he reluctantly folded his wings back.

Kei patted his arm gently.

”Kai has to stay here obediently and wait for me to come back, okay?”

Kai blinked his eyes.

”Kei...Where are you going? Stay here with me!”

”I’m going to talk to Kang Ian.”

The moment he heard that, Kai’s face showed a sulky expression again.

”I’m coming with you, don’t talk to him! He will catch you again!”

Kei knew that now was the time to be firm with the black dragon, refusing him without compromise, not allowing the black dragon to continue causing trouble.

”No. You stay here.”

”But—”

”Kai.”

Just one soft call of his name made Kai fall silent instantly. He lowered his head, his expression exactly like a large beast that had just been sternly reminded by its owner, making Kei’s heart soften.

”Fine... Just come back soon...”

Only then did Kei feel at ease walking toward Kang Ian.

Kang Ian still stood amid the ruins, his cold gaze sweeping past Kei before settling on Kai. Just by looking at his face, Kei could tell that this man hadn’t completely given up on charging in to fight.

”Kang Ian.”

Kei called his name softly.

”Yeah. What do you want to say with me?”

”Today’s matter should end here.”

Kang Ian raised an eyebrow.

”Are you giving me orders?”

”No. I’m seriously suggesting you don’t make things any more complicated.”

Kei pointed at the surroundings.

”The Crying Ghost Guild headquarters has been almost completely destroyed. If you two keep fighting, probably this whole street won’t have anything left. I don’t want to see anyone else get hurt, and I don’t want to be held responsible for this pile of ruins.”

Even though the two big Guilds had a lot of money, the ordinary people living here had already suffered a great deal of damage, their lives would be turned upside down.

Kei wasn’t sure whether Kai understood what he had caused, but Kei was certain that Kang Ian must understand. The aftershocks from a clash between two SS-rank hunters shouldn’t affect this city any further.

Kang Ian looked at him silently.

Kei continued:

”As for your insomnia... Once I find a method, I’ll come see you.”

Hearing this, a bit more interest appeared in Kang Ian’s eyes.

”How long?”

”I don’t know yet.”

Kei’s brow twitched, did Kang Ian really understand that Kei currently had no idea how to help him?

”Tomorrow? Three days from now? Or will I be able to sleep after a week?”

”Kang Ian.”

Kei sighed a breath.

”I’ll come when I find a way. Just wait patiently, and don’t come looking for me so often, it makes me feel very pressured.”

Kang Ian frowned. Clearly, he didn’t like this answer, but this time he didn’t keep pressing. His gaze shifted back to Kai.

”You trust that stupid dragon that much?”

Kei paused.

”Kai isn’t stupid, it’s just that something inside him is missing.”

And Kei would find a way to fill it back up, his black dragon couldn’t stay this childish forever.

”He just destroyed my headquarters.”

Kang Ian pouted as he spoke, the angry one should have been him, not that stupid dragon, yet Kei was the one yelling at him.

”That’s because you deliberately provoked him.”Kei only pointed at the bite mark on his face, which was still slightly numb even now.

”He also made you fall from the sky, so why don’t you yell at your dragon?”

”He tried to protect me.”

Kang Ian stared at Kei for a long time, then narrowed his eyes slightly.

”What about me then? Am I hurting you? With one bite?”

”Kai started it, but you should have calmed him down instead of trying to provoke him further. Kai can’t think things through, but are you also a child?”

Such a blunt response left Kang Ian unable to retort immediately. He didn’t know what he had been thinking at the time either, it was just that seeing Kei’s eyes light up when he saw Kai approaching made Kang Ian feel annoyed.

And when he felt annoyed, he got hungry, and Kei’s fair, rosy cheeks happened to catch his eye, beckoning him just like that...

Kei turned around and walked toward Kai.

”Let’s go home.”

Kai’s eyes lit up immediately, and he quickly followed behind Kei.

He stepped forward, bending down for Kei to take his hand. But before leaving, Kai secretly turned his head back to look at Kang Ian.

Kang Ian was still standing there, his expression cold as if he were contemplating what method to use to smash the black dragon’s entire body to pieces.

Kai curled the corner of his mouth into a smile.

That smile was full of smugness, like a child who had just snatched the most precious toy in front of his rival.
