[BL] After SSS-rank mage reborn as the Legendary Craftsman

Chapter 38: (Sep01) Naughty little dragon, you must not hit people!

Kei stood outside worriedly, looking into the dust that was billowing thickly in the middle of the street.

The massive blue whirlwind had swallowed Kai and Moon So Yeon whole. Debris from the road surface was swept high into the air, spinning around in the sky. Kei could not see anything inside, could only hear the wind howling and feel the ground beneath their feet constantly shaking.

”Moon So Yeon! Kai! Hey, stop fighting!”

He called out loudly, but his voice was immediately swallowed by the chaotic sound.

Kei clenched his hands. The uneasy feeling in his heart grew stronger and stronger. He did not know how powerful Moon So Yeon’s skill was, nor did he know how Kai would react. All he knew was that both of them were inside that dust cloud, and once they truly used their full strength to fight, this place would no longer be a street.

And Kei now had absolutely no ability to stop these two from continuing.

Boom!

A heavy sound rang out.

The dust suddenly dispersed and revealed exactly what was happening in that area.

Kei stared blankly at the scene before him, different from what Kei had expected...

Moon So Yeon was being tightly gripped by the throat by Kai, lifted high into the air like picking up a doll.

Her legs dangled in midair, constantly trembling and struggling. Her face, which was usually fair, had now turned purple from suffocation, her blue eyes wide open, filled with pain and terror.

As for Kai, only a layer of black dragon scales had appeared on his neck and half of his face, and that alone was enough to capture an SS-rank hunter.

They were placed on the same rank, but the gap between their strengths could not be measured precisely at all.

The blue whirlwind had completely vanished. The last weak gusts of wind brushed through Moon So Yeon’s messy silver hair and then disappeared, leaving the street littered with debris and rocks from being swept up by the tornado just now.

”No!”

Kei shouted in panic.

”Don’t kill her!”

He immediately ran over. Without time to think, Kei grabbed the hand that was squeezing Moon So Yeon’s throat, trying to pull it away.

That hand was so hard that Kei felt like he was touching a block of iron. Even after using all his strength, he still could not make Kai’s fingers budge even a little.

”Kai, let her go!”

Kei looked up at the man in front of him, his voice both urgent and trembling.

”She just misunderstood that you wanted to cause trouble with an ordinary person like me. She didn’t mean to harm you.”

Kai’s cold gaze did not leave Moon So Yeon at all.

His golden slit pupils narrowed, no longer holding their usual innocent look. Only the primal anger of a dragon protecting what it had claimed as its own remained.

”No...”

Kai muttered.

”She wants to take... mine... She is... the enemy...”

The black scales on his neck continued to grow, spreading gradually up to his cheek and jaw. The pressure radiating from Kai’s body made it nearly impossible for Kei to breathe.

”I won’t allow you to do this!”

Kai’s fingers tightened further.

”Hrk... gh...”

Moon So Yeon immediately let out a faint choked sound. Her face, already purple, became even worse, and her body, having lost all strength, began to go limp.

She knew she would die, from the moment Moon So Yeon chose to face off against the only dragon of this era, she had already foreseen her own death.

”No, don’t...”

Kei grabbed Kai’s arm in panic.

He did not want to watch the woman who had just stood up to protect him die right before his eyes. But at the same time, looking at the black scales spreading across Kai’s face, another fear rose in his heart.

He was afraid that the person before him would truly turn into a monster that killed innocent people, that child... should not become like that!

”Naughty little dragon...”

In his panic, Kei unconsciously blurted out a phrase that had existed in a very distant memory.

”You must not hit people!”

Kai’s entire body stiffened.

Naughty little dragon... Has he been hated by Kei?

Kei hates him because he didn’t listen...

The black scales spreading on his neck stopped. His anger-filled gaze suddenly turned dazed too, like someone just pulled out of a daze, with even a trace of sadness and fear?

The hand squeezing Moon So Yeon’s neck was no longer as tight as before.

”Ah...”

Kai slightly opened his mouth.

”K... Kei...”

Don’t hate me.

I’ll be good, I’m not bad...

He looked at the person gripping his hand, his golden eyes wavering violently. It seemed that name had just pierced through a thick layer of fog, awakening something that had been sleeping for a very long time.

But before Kai could finish his sentence, a heavy pressure suddenly appeared.

Boom!

The air around seemed to be pressed down by an invisible hand. The road surface beneath Kai’s feet cracked, and his body instantly sagged. The black scales on his neck made a clicking sound, and the hand squeezing Moon So Yeon’s neck completely relaxed.

Moon So Yeon fell to the ground.

”Cough... cough cough!”

She lay on her side on the road, both hands clutching her neck, coughing hoarsely and violently. Every breath sent a sharp pain through her chest, and her face, pale and bluish, had yet to recover its normal color.

Kei hurriedly crouched down beside her, wanting to help her sit up.

”Are you alright?”

Moon So Yeon couldn’t answer right away. She tried to take a deep breath, then raised her head to look toward the road.

A man was slowly walking over.

His black hair was slightly tousled, his heavy platinum eyes half-closed as if unable to open fully. His face was full of weariness, as if he had just been dragged out of a sleep that wasn’t long enough.

The terrifying pressure pressing down on Kai was coming from that man.

Moon So Yeon saw him, and her face, pale from choking, suddenly broke into a weak smile.

”Guild master...”

She coughed and muttered:

”So slow... are you a turtle...”

The one walking over was Abyss Kang Ian, the guild master of Guild Crying Ghost.
