Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2535: Chapter 2544: Lawrence Corporation Terminates Cooperation with EZ

Now that she has calmed down, she feels disinterested again.

Why did she bother helping her romantic rival? Is she out of her mind! It seems she was really just restless and did something foolish today.

Emilia Goldsmith gave a final glance at Wendy Hanson standing in place, elegantly walked away...

After she left, Wendy Hanson, feeling extremely embarrassed, stomped her foot and furiously threw her handbag against the wall, ”Emilia Goldsmith!”

The handbag hit the wall, and all its contents scattered across the floor.

After venting her frustration, Wendy felt much better. Her expression eased a bit, but she still remembered that this was the Lawrence Family banquet venue, and though the restroom was empty now, that didn’t mean no one would come in later. After regaining some composure, she quickly squatted down to pick up the lipstick that had fallen to the ground.

Luckily, the handbag wasn’t large, and she hadn’t packed much inside. Only the lipstick and foundation for touch-ups; the foundation had shattered from the impact and was unusable. Without a trace of distress, Wendy tossed the few-thousand-dollar foundation into the trash can, reorganized her handbag, and stood up.

She didn’t hurry to leave but first walked to the washbasin to check herself in the mirror, subconsciously glancing at her own face.

Upon seeing her pale complexion and evasive eyes, her chest felt increasingly tight. Emilia Goldsmith’s words echoed in her ears, each one stabbing at her heart.

Damn it! She couldn’t remember ever offending that woman, but Emilia had come looking for trouble out of the blue.

No matter how Wendy thought about it, she couldn’t figure out why Emilia Goldsmith suddenly came to bother her. She turned on the tap, splashed her cheeks with water, then turned it off and headed back...

She had been in the restroom for a long time, and if she didn’t return soon, others would start to suspect something.

The banquet in the hall had already begun.

Wendy steadied herself, just about to step out when her phone rang.

The drastic ups and downs of her mood tonight had left her on edge, and any slight disturbance now could scare her.

The step she had barely managed to take forward halted again, and she forced herself to suppress the irritation and unease as she took out her phone. She glanced at the Caller ID, her expression changed, and she walked to a quiet corner in the corridor before answering the call, ”Hello, Grandpa~ I’m not done here yet, I might be home late tonight. I’ll have the driver call you before I get back, don’t worry about me~”

Whatever was said on the other end caused her face to suddenly change drastically, ”What? Grandpa, say that again, I didn’t catch it just now.”

The person on the other end seemed to repeat themselves.

Wendy’s expression worsened, turning truly unpleasant. Her eyes filled with panic as she gripped her phone tightly, repeatedly denying, ”I didn’t, no, I haven’t spoken to Brother Baron tonight, how could I have done something to offend him? I also don’t know why Brother Baron would abruptly cancel the previously agreed project, Grandpa, don’t worry, should I ask him?”

That the Lawrence Corporation suddenly terminated their cooperation with EZ was definitely not good news for EZ.

Wendy was well aware of how important that project was to EZ. Her Grandpa attached great importance to that cooperative project, seeking Old Lord several times and utilizing many connections to secure it. But just now, the Lawrence Family public relations department suddenly sent her Grandpa a message saying they were canceling the cooperation, prompting her Grandpa’s call to ask what was going on.

”The banquet has just started now, Grandpa, wait a little while longer. Once the banquet is over, I’ll find out what happened and let you know.”
