Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2521: Chapter 2530: Distracted, Waiting for Someone

The person was just saying it with their mouth, looking at her with eyes full of sympathy.

Men like Young Master Lawrence aren’t that easy to come by. Wendy Hanson was almost within reach of the position of Young Madam of the Lawrence Family, only to be intercepted halfway. That’s even worse than people like us who had no hope from the beginning.

People, sometimes you have to learn to accept fate!

So what if you come from a prominent family and are beautiful, you still lose.

Wendy Hanson could certainly feel the naked sympathy directed at her, and her hands at her sides involuntarily clenched, ”I didn’t think about it, you’re overthinking.”

”Okay, fine, I’m overthinking. By the way, Wendy, are you free next week? My brother wants to invite you to dinner.”

Her brother?

An image of a slick and smooth-talking playboy flashed in Wendy Hanson’s mind, and a hint of annoyance flickered in her eyes, ”Next week? I might not be free next week. You know I just returned to the country, and my family has arranged for me to join the company, so I’m quite busy with work. Maybe another day.”

”Then another day, when you’re free, I’ll arrange it.” The person sweetly smiled and hooked Wendy’s arm, saying in a girlishly coy manner, ”You don’t know how much my brother likes you. He was just telling my mom last night to help set you two up. I also hope you become my sister-in-law. If you become my sister-in-law, I would definitely like you. We could often meet up for shopping and travel overseas together~”

Wendy Hanson didn’t like her talking to her so intimately, but considering they were all in the same social circle, she didn’t want to be too straightforward, as being too blunt could easily offend, ”Well, let’s see if it’s meant to be.”

The girl, who was adorned in sparkling gold, seemed genuinely fond of her. Seeing that Wendy didn’t outright refuse, she immediately beamed and started promoting her brother, ”You two have destiny, if not, my brother wouldn’t have fallen for you at first sight. Don’t listen to those people outside talking nonsense, my brother isn’t as much of a playboy as they say. He was only a playboy because he hadn’t met someone he liked, just playing around outside. Now that he’s met you, he definitely won’t be like before. My mom and I have talked to him, and he has promised to break up with that female star, so you can rest assured and become my sister-in-law...”

Wendy Hanson was almost driven crazy by her. She had other things on her mind and didn’t hear the chattering voice in her ears at all. Her eyes remained fixed on the doorway, as if waiting for someone to arrive.

Dammit, why hasn’t he come yet?

Wendy Hanson’s nervous palms were sweating, and the annoying chatter of the girl beside her was making her feel restless for the first time, so much that she wanted to shout at her to shut up.

”Wendy, what do you think? Wendy...”

”What?”

Wendy Hanson finally got distracted, giving her a sidelong glance with an absent-minded look.

The person didn’t notice her subtle actions and shook her arm, whining sweetly, ”Just be my sister-in-law, okay?”

”Well...”

”Please, agree to be my sister-in-law. Or at least give my brother a chance, okay?”

Wendy Hanson was tired of dealing with her pestering and was just about to firmly refuse her. Just then, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed two figures appearing at the door, and the refusal that was on the tip of her tongue turned into a dismissive, ”Okay.”

The girl didn’t expect that her pestering would really make Wendy relent, and she jumped up in surprise, ”Really? Did you really agree?”

”Mm, we’ll talk about it another day.” As long as she stopped bothering her now, anything would be fine.

The girl was overjoyed and immediately agreed, ”Great, I’ll go home today and tell my mom that you agreed. She’ll arrange for Auntie to set a time another day.”
