Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2367: Chapter 2376: Enna Clark Hasn’t Slept at All

”Lord has something to say to the Young Madam in person, the Young Madam will surely believe him.”

The handsome man’s eyes were bloodshot. He placed one hand on the bottle of liquor and lifted his head, casting a glance at him, ”Didn’t you just say that Enna Clark is very disappointed in me?”

Scott Harris finally understood what it meant to shoot oneself in the foot.

”I... didn’t mean it like that. I meant that the Young Madam was a bit upset after seeing those photos.”

In his dictionary, ’upset’ was equivalent to ’disappointed.’

Baron Lawrence’s heart ached for a moment, and he looked away, telling him, ”Don’t bother me, I want some peace and quiet.”

”But, Lord...”

Baron Lawrence’s mood was at its worst, and he interrupted him, frowning, ”Don’t bother me!”

Scott Harris really regretted telling him about the Young Madam having coffee with Young Master Lyle in the afternoon.

If he’d known earlier, he wouldn’t have been so talkative, and Lord’s mood wouldn’t be this bad.

Scott Harris let go of his hand and had no choice but to temporarily leave the living room.

Baron Lawrence drank an entire bottle of whiskey in one go. His stomach, throat, all felt like they were on fire, unbearably suffocating.

But none of that discomfort compared to the pain in his heart.

The dull heartache was intense, as if someone was gently grinding his heart with sandpaper. That faint, dull pain pulled at his nerves, making the nerves in his head ache.

”Ugh.”

Suddenly, Baron Lawrence’s stomach was hit with a sharp cramp, and he curled up.

The pain came swiftly and fiercely, and his entire stomach protested. Under the sharp stabbing pain, a cold sweat quickly broke out on his forehead, and his fair face turned ashen from the agony.

...

In the bedroom, Enna Clark hadn’t actually fallen asleep.

She heard Baron Lawrence’s return and the sound of him trying to unlock the door, but she pretended to be asleep, not wanting to open the door.

She lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

After flipping over twice, feeling a little hot, she threw off the covers, turned on the bedside lamp, and sat up.

The large bedroom was empty. Enna Clark sat for a few minutes, then forced herself to lie back down, covered up, and closed her eyes...

The quartz clock in the room ticked away, and the sky gradually turned fully dark.

The more she tried to sleep, the clearer her mind became, and time passed so slowly that each second felt split in two.

No matter how hard Enna Clark tried, she couldn’t sleep. She opened her eyes again, turned over irritably. Propping her left hand under her head, she completely changed positions to sleep on her side.

She originally thought this might help her sleep, but it felt like there was something unfinished weighing on her mind. No matter how she told herself to let it go and sleep first, her mind stayed alert, running wild, unable to catch any sleep!

To make matters worse, she not only couldn’t sleep, but her throat was also particularly dry, desperately craving water.

At first, Enna Clark wanted to endure it.

But after failing to sleep, her senses were heightened, and the more she tried to ignore the dryness in her throat, the more parched and thirsty she became...

After battling with herself for a long time, she couldn’t take it anymore, threw off the covers, picked up her robe, and got up...

Enna Clark opened the door.

She walked straight towards the refrigerator without looking around.

She went into the kitchen, boiled some water for herself, made a cup of honey water, and carried it back to her room.

But as she reached the living room, she sensed something off, a strong smell of alcohol filled the room.
