Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2017: Chapter 2027: Dog Eat Dog

Buckets of water poured down one after another, continuously.

Lisa and the Director, standing in the center of the scene, were in disarray with nowhere to escape.

The staff on the scene only saw the two people being washed away into a silhouette in the curtain of ice water, a pathetic sight, completely different from their previous arrogant demeanor.

The Director finally couldn’t hold on any longer and admitted his mistake in the ice water, ”Young Master Sinclair, I was wrong, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have treated Ms. Lewis like that just now.”

”Young Master Sinclair, I know I was wrong, I won’t dare anymore, please let me go, I can’t take it.”

He really couldn’t take it anymore, staying under these icy torrents any longer and he feared his muscles would start to die.

”I was wrong, Young Master Sinclair, I didn’t do it on purpose. It was Lisa, she used Mr. Zeal to threaten me, forced me to help her. I was coerced.”

”I was wrong, I won’t dare do it again, never again.”

”Young Master Sinclair, Young Master Sinclair...” With every sentence the Director spoke, ice water entered his mouth; he swallowed it awkwardly, getting bruised by the ice blocks.

Adam Sinclair finally paid attention to him.

He made a pause gesture and the ice water stopped pouring.

The Director’s legs were weak, nearly sitting on the ground, his face pale as he muttered, ”Young Master Sinclair, I was wrong, I was really wrong. Please, let me go this once. I didn’t know, it was this woman; she told me you were already tired of Ms. Lewis. She also used Mr. Zeal to threaten me, saying if I didn’t help, I’d be ousted from the entertainment industry. I had no choice, I’m just an up-and-coming director who finally got this chance to shoot a commercial, I couldn’t afford to offend her. She’s Mr. Zeal’s lover; if she really told Mr. Zeal to replace me, I’d lose this opportunity to shoot the commercial. In order not to lose this chance, I agreed to help her set up Ms. Lewis.”

”At first I didn’t know she would add ice blocks to the buckets, I thought she just wanted to drench Ms. Lewis with cold water. It was only after she called me to add the ice blocks that I did it.”

Now, for self-preservation, the Director pushed everything onto Lisa, racking his brain to think, ”Right. Young Master Sinclair, she even told me in the dressing room earlier that she wanted to blacklist Ms. Lewis.”

”Why don’t you mention you even intended to use the unspoken rules on Olivia Lewis?” Lisa wasn’t one to be silenced, she quickly counterattacked.

As soon as the word ”unspoken rules” came out, the Director immediately felt a chill on his neck.

He quickly lunged towards Lisa, slapped her saying, ”You’re slandering me! I didn’t say that! You did! You wanted to force Ms. Lewis into a corner where she had no choice but to take the unspoken rules path, I said nothing!”

”I have no personal vendetta against Ms. Lewis, unlike you, always thinking the Best Actress award she got was stolen from you. If it weren’t for Ms. Lewis, that Best Actress award would’ve been yours. You tell me, have you said that?”

”I didn’t say that, I merely said I was also nominated for that Best Actress award.”

”You just think Ms. Lewis stole your award, which is why you hold a grudge. You thought after Ms. Lewis and Young Master Sinclair broke up, you’d find a chance to mess with her.”

The Director and Lisa went back and forth, neither willing to let the blame fall on themselves.
