Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038: Old Master Li also fell ill Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038: Old Master Li also fell ill His demeanor was naturally arrogant, not a hint of reluctance. Lifting his head, he gave Enna Clark a glance, “Not bad, comparable to the Tomato and Egg Noodles. Keep making it for me in the future!”

With that, he continued eating.

His series of actions was smooth to the extreme. Enna Clark had never imagined he would sit down and choose the worst Longevity Noodles on the table to eat.

He was Baron Lawrence! Baron Lawrence!

He was different from her!

From birth, he was born with a golden spoon in his mouth, and the Lawrence Family had always known of his existence. Everything he wore and used was the best from the start, as he was the heir to a super rich family.

His picky nature was a testament to his high standards for life.

Moreover, he suffered from mysophobia.

Enna really couldn’t imagine that one day Baron Lawrence would eat a bowl of clumped noodles.

But now, he was eating them right in front of her, as naturally as ever, without any sign of disdain. It was as if the Longevity Noodles she made were no different from the exquisite meals carefully prepared by a Michelin Chef that he was used to!

Enna stood there, truly at a loss for words.

Baron Lawrence didn’t expect her to say anything. He finished the noodles in no time, glanced at the other dishes and the birthday cake on the table, and said, “I’ll have someone preserve all of this, and I’ll eat it tomorrow.”

He had attended a banquet tonight and had drunk quite a bit of alcohol; his stomach was already full.

Finishing that bowl of noodles was already pushing it.

His obsidian-like eyes shone brighter than anything, focused on her, “Enna Clark, I am really happy tonight. This is the second happiest birthday I’ve ever had!”

The first time was also because of her.

She celebrated with him in Capital City, buying him a diamond tie clip as a gift, and when he returned at midnight, she wished him a happy birthday on time… That was the happiest birthday of his life.

And now, this was the second one.

In the future, he was going to have countless happy birthdays like this because he had her!

Baron Lawrence’s hawk-like eyes were profound, like a whirlpool that could draw people in.

Enna blurted out uncontrollably, “I will also help you celebrate your birthdays in the future.” Next time, she certainly wouldn’t be as unprepared as this time. She would make sure to give him an unforgettable birthday. Just like the ones he used to arrange for her!

…

The doctor arrived soon after.

After changing Baron Lawrence’s wet bandages, he performed an anti-inflammatory treatment on the wound on his back.

But in the middle of the night, Baron Lawrence still developed a mild fever.

After a hectic night, his fever finally came under control, though he still looked pale.

Enna Clark got up early and went to the kitchen, intending to simmer some plain rice porridge for him.

When Bobby had a fever before, she would also make plain rice porridge for Bobby. It’s light and easy to digest, perfect for patients.

She had just gone downstairs when she ran into the Housekeeper.

The Housekeeper looked hurried. Seeing her, he stopped and greeted her with a gentlemanlike manner, “Miss Clark, good morning.”

“Good morning, Housekeeper,” Enna promptly responded, noticing his weary expression, she couldn’t help asking, “Has something happened?”

“Nothing much.” The Housekeeper didn’t hide anything from her, “The Old Lord is ill, I’m going to call the doctor.”

Since the day before yesterday, the Old Master had been unable to sleep at night, often getting up in the middle of the night to stand on the balcony and catch a cold.

For someone in his seventies, even a simple cold shouldn’t be taken lightly. The Old Master had been strong-willed all his life and didn’t take a minor cold seriously. Still, the Housekeeper was truly concerned and decided to call the doctor to have a look…
