The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 2032: Finishing Up and Going Back

It had been more and more obvious as he got stronger.

Even when Rex was still in the Mortal Realm, struggling to survive in the Supernatural’s territory and building his new empire, the consequences of making the wrong move were already horrendous. As he grew stronger, the consequences of making a mistake also rose hand in hand.

Now he stood inside the God Realm.

Rex couldn’t even begin to imagine what the consequences of making a mistake here would be.

And from the hard lines on Aylith’s face, it seemed she had already experienced those consequences.

Had known the horror that lurks in the God Realm.

”Go ahead and absorb the divinity,” Rex said as he walked away—gesturing with his hand for Aylith to tend to the blood circle that was still humming with the pure divinity of a God. ”It’s going to break soon enough, so make it quick.”

Aylith nodded and stepped forward.

She pointed her hands at the blood circle, and then felt its obedience shift towards her.

It was a sensation that caught her by surprise.

’Had I really wanted to rescue my children from having him as an enemy, I would’ve died.’ She thought inside, glancing at Rex as if he was an enigma that couldn’t be understood. ’A formation or any magical construct is weakest when it was made. It was the reason why most created it in secrecy. But somehow, he had full control over this formation. If he didn’t allow it, this construct wouldn’t let go of the divinity.

’Like it was tied to him somehow. Nobody simply would become a Scion, and I guess that was true.’

Naturally, the First Blood Claim Ritual was tied to Rex.

He could only evolve to a Greater Lycan through the energy it contained.

More importantly, the blood circle was not a simple formation, as it was directly from the System. And everything from the System is directly under his control. But regardless, Rex was oblivious to what she had in mind.

His focus was fixated on the glinting star hovering above.

Davina was inside this star.

System, how come she evokes such a phenomenon?

Wait a second, it’s not going to take long, is it? We need to leave.

Rex breathed easily as that would still be plenty of time before the Purgation Duel.

He went over to Lilliana—and checked on her while waiting for Davina to finish. Even though he didn’t look like it, he was really guilty inside for forgetting about Lilliana earlier. And as sharp as always, that guilt couldn’t escape Lilliana’s eyes.

Lilliana made use of the moment.

Considering that Davina was also not in the fray, stuck in the cocoon of light, she asked him to hold her tightly. Rex couldn’t complain and did it anyway, placing her on his lap and then embracing her close as if she was a damsel in distress.

For the entire hour, the two stayed like that until the cocoon of light finally cracked.

A crack on the bottom part split the light like a wound opening in the skin of the world.

Rex and Lilliana rose to their feet as their gazes locked on the breaking cocoon of light.

Fragments of pale brilliance flaked away from the fractures, drifting downward like shards of a shattered star, and through the widening gaps, a hint of pale green bled into the air. It was filled with power. One that reeked of Davina’s natural scent.

And then, the newfound energy came.

Splash—!

A violent, expanding pulse erupted from the cocoon—a shockwave that tore across the moon’s surface and sent ripples through the broken realm. Rex reacted instantly. He channelled the primordium energy with a thought, watching it obediently coil around his arm, and then shaped it into a barrier that fully wrapped around himself and Lilliana.

It finished right when the wave struck like a hurricane.

Boom—!

Beyond it, he watched the moon beneath his feet that was already battered and cratered from his display of power earlier, begin to peel away in long, curling stripes. Stone and dust rose into the void. Everything was pulled towards the cocoon of light above.

”Hers is more dangerous than yours,” Lilliana muttered as she observed the surroundings.

A shiver ran down her spine at the sight.

”Dangerous?” Rex raised a brow. ”What do you mean?”

”The phenomenon you created earlier was a crushing weight with occasional powerful blasts,” Lilliana said, turning to face him. ”It’s painful, deadly, but not dangerous. This, on the other hand—would throw me off the moon and possibly into the void.”

Being lifted up and then slammed with a blast would certainly push one away.

As Lilliana said, this was really dangerous since down below, the Realm Degradation was still going.

Even so, guilt twisted in Rex’s chest as he remembered what happened earlier.

Lost in the storm of his own evolution—he had let his power spill outward without thought for those standing too close. Rex had watched Lilliana fall to her knees, bleeding, because he had not considered the cost of his growth.

Now, standing on the other side of that same violence, he understood.

He understood what it meant to be a witness to someone else’s ascension, to feel the world shake beneath the weight of a power that was not your own. He swore then, silently—that he would never again let his own growth consume him.

Pain is necessary, but not all pain is necessary.

Boom—!

Another crack split the air, and a second shockwave followed, stronger than the first.

Then another.

Each fissure released a storm of energy, each pulse more violent than the last; the cocoon groaned as if it could no longer contain what was being born inside it. The cracks spread—like lightning across its surface, bright and terrible.

And the energy within began to slither through the gaps.

Pale green tendrils coiled and curled around the cocoon, forming a ring.

Rex’s breath caught. The ring began to glint. Stars appeared inside it, tiny points of light that sparkled like captured constellations, and the shattered cocoon at its center ignited, turning into a blinding sphere of pure radiance.

It was beautiful—so beautiful it hurt to look at.

A planet of light, surrounded by a ring of stars, hanging in the void like something out of a dream.

For a moment, even the violence paused, and the world held its breath.

And then the cocoon detonated.

Kaboom—!

An explosion happened with the force of something equivalent to the Royal Black Prince bloodline. It was pure, silent force. A wave of annihilation that flattened everything in its path. Even Aylith, who was busy absorbing the divinity, needed to pay attention.

She also created a shield to protect herself from the blast.

Rex’s barrier flared; the primordium energy screamed as it absorbed the brunt of the blast.

His power was far beyond now, but even he needed to put a bit more effort into blocking the detonation.

Beside him, Lilliana pressed closer, her own energy rising to reinforce his.

And the moon beneath them cracked, crumbled, and began to collapse inward, but still, they stood.

Once the light finally receded, a figure hovered above the ruins—Davina.

She was wreathed in pure pale-green light. Her body a silhouette of living radiance. Slowly—the light began to peel away, layer by layer, revealing her form as she descended. But seeing her appearance plastered a frown on Rex’s face.

For some reason, she looked the same—that was the first thing Rex noticed.

No new marks. No monstrosity. No changed features.

Davina bore the same face, the same hair—and the same steady presence. Even though her aura was on an entirely different level, the air around her hummed with a quiet power that hadn’t been there before, which made it clear that the transformation was a success.

Her werewolf form should now be complete.

But she didn’t change.

Davina touched down softly as the last of the light faded from her skin.

And for a long moment, none of them spoke.

It was Rex who snapped out of his stupor first and broke the silence.

”Did you really succeed?” He asked, tilting his head in confusion. ”You looked the same.”

”Am I...?” Davina asked back with a teasing smile.

Rex’s eyes narrowed as he sensed that she had something to do with this unchanging appearance.

But he didn’t quite know what she did.

”I do have my other form now—yes.” Davina shrugged, as if it were a small thing. ”But I think I’ll keep it hidden for now. There’s no need to transform yet, and with the Purgation Duel approaching, I’d rather save my energy.”

”Why are you so stingy?” Lilliana threw up her arms. ”Let us see it once!”

Instead of answering, Davina turned away and crossed her arms, determined to keep her form a secret.

Rex rubbed his face—as he was also anticipating seeing how she looked, but then again, it’s not like he needed to see it. Besides, the Purgation Duel was less than a day. Soon enough—she would have no other choice but to transform.

It’s not that long of a wait.

Davina then stole a glance at Rex, only now realizing that his form had changed.

Frankly, she was marvelling at how he looked right now.

Even though he wasn’t particularly charging his energy—she could feel the power rippling underneath his skin, and it was impressive. Despite her high standards and knowing that Rex was the only one who could match them, this growth still caught her off guard.

She fell for him harder, though she didn’t show it to him.

”A-Are you—” Davina cleared her throat. ”Are you okay being like that right now?”

”Hm?” Rex paused for a second, and then realized that he was still in his Lycan form.

He didn’t feel like the form was going to run out of stamina soon—but he needed to conserve his energy, as the battle ahead wouldn’t be easy. It would probably cost him a limb and more, so wasting even a flicker of energy would be detrimental.

System, how long can I retain this form?

Should I revert back and then transform later?

Since I’m already in it, might as well go all the way, huh? Alright then.

Rex blinked and turned to Davina. ”I’m going to be fine. Seems like we’re done here. Let’s return.”

It was time to leave.

Rex turned to Aylith, her form still bathed in the faint glow of absorbed divinity. ”I’ll contact you through the connection,” he said. ”Pay attention when I do.” She nodded once—and Rex didn’t linger. She had her own recovery to tend to.

He raised the Primordial Permit, and the air before him split open.

A swirling tunnel of energy cracked into existence. The portal hummed with a low, resonant thrum, its edges shimmering like liquid starlight. On the other end of the tunnel was Layra City. Rex exchanged a nod with Davina and Lilliana, and then looked straight ahead again.

The three of them stepped into the tunnel together—their forms swallowed by the light as the portal sealed behind them. The Great Pale Court fell silent once more, left to its ruins and its goddess. It was now hours away from the Purgation Duel.

Even then, the tension already crept into their necks.
