Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 642 -642: This Man Wants to Drain the Sea

4 hours later, the Presidential Suite at the Hilton hotel was in complete disarray.

Huo Yi rushed over immediately after getting off the airplane and this was the scene that greeted him.

The study was almost impossible to walk through, every breakable item in the room had been smashed to pieces, and in a corner of the room, a man with short, sharp hair was drenched in sweat, one hand covering his eyes, panting heavily as if he had just vented his anger.

With caution, Huo Yi approached him and called out, “Master Jue?”

The man slowly removed his hand from his eyes, and when Huo Yi saw those crimson falcon-like eyes, he was momentarily stunned.

He had seen Beijue angry before, but this was the first time he had seen him like this.

...

It was as if…

As if the world had collapsed, with only the last fragile thread of rationality holding on, and once that thread snapped…

Huo Yi didn’t dare to think further.

Li Beijue was indeed on the verge of insanity, even though he had agreed to the old man’s terms and the old man had assured that not a single hair on Chi Enen would be harmed, the unease in his heart had not diminished one bit.

The unease felt as though it was about to engulf him!

When his eyes narrowed and he recognized the visitor, his throat felt as if it had been slashed by a blade, raspy and hoarse, “Did you get the task I assigned to you taken care of?”

“It’s been arranged,” Huo Yi bowed.

Master Jue had instructed him to use the Military Commander’s authority to request Country Y’s government to control the water level in that section of the sea area, which he had already contacted the authorities of Country Y about; although they didn’t understand the reason, they still agreed to the request.

However, Master Jue had used military power for his own personal reasons, and once that news reached the domestic front, it was bound to cause an uproar in public opinion. When that time came, Master Jue would also have to face a storm.

Normally, he should dissuade such actions, but this time, he had not said anything more and had just gone ahead with it.

Because he understood that when it came to Miss Chi, he couldn’t dissuade her.

It wasn’t just him who couldn’t dissuade her, no one could.

Li Beijue’s tensed jaw finally relaxed a bit, he lifted his head, his black pupils deep and inscrutable, and it was uncertain what he was thinking as his gaze fell upon Huo Yi. Suddenly he said, “Huo Yi, do you think the old man might be deceiving me, that he didn’t actually save Chi Enen? What if the news comes later that they found that woman’s body in the drained sea area?”

Huo Yi’s heart skipped a beat as he met his gaze, placing his hands on his stomach, he seriously said, “Master Jue, the video indeed showed someone saving Miss Chi at the critical moment; I believe that with so many people, they must be able to save her.”

He knew that logically, with so many people, they should be able to save Chi Enen!

But right now, he just couldn’t stay calm and believe in logic! Even if there was a one in ten thousand chance that woman wasn’t saved, he couldn’t put his mind at ease!

In his mind, the last phone call that woman had made to him kept flashing through! He would get enraged, regret, and go insane wondering why did he fall asleep at that time, why didn’t he hear her phone call?

Whenever he thought about Chi Enen calling him in her last moments and he didn’t pick up, her state of mind, his heart felt as if someone was slicing through it with a knife, tormenting it over and over!

Time and again, he didn’t know what kind of willpower he used to keep from going mad and from jumping into the sea to search over the past few hours!

And not going wasn’t because he was particularly calm, it was only because the last bit of rationality told him he couldn’t collapse.
