Chapter 1054, Seeking Death?

Translator: Silavin

*Swoosh!*

As Qin Yichen confronted the Blood Beastman Captain, from behind him, two Blood Beastmen waved their hands. Two blood swords shot violently towards where Little Ling’er and Avril hid.

However, though these two attacks appeared fierce, they were not executed with full force. Clearly, they merely wished to force out whoever was hiding there, without any intention of delivering a killing blow.

After all, if it truly was Avril inside, they still needed to capture her alive.

*Swish!*

Under the compulsion of these two blood swords, two petite figures flashed out from the undergrowth. They were none other than Little Ling’er and Avril!

“Jasmine!” By now, Avril already understood that hiding was impossible. As she emerged, she glanced apologetically at Qin Yichen, then looked worriedly towards that brown-haired Elf, whose life or death was still not known.

“Ignorant fool! Previously, we spared your worthless life, yet you actually dared to sabotage our Blood Beastmen Race’s plans!”

Upon seeing Avril, the Blood Beastman Captain’s expression turned thoroughly ugly. He stared at Qin Yichen, killing intent surging forth from his eyes without the slightest concealment.

*Swoosh!* Immediately, his foot stomped fiercely in mid-air, his form transforming into a blood-coloured light as he shot violently towards Qin Yichen.

Watching that Late Stage Martial Ancestor suffused with murderous aura hurtling towards him, cold intent could not help but surge within Qin Yichen’s eyes as well.

Originally, he had not wished to provoke trouble because he worried for Little Ling’er’s safety. However, just moments ago, these Blood Beastmen, in order to force Avril out, had attacked without even sparing Little Ling’er.

This made Qin Yichen realise that blindly enduring would only bring him increasingly more trouble, even preventing him from protecting Little Ling’er!

To protect those he cared about, he could only demonstrate strength sufficient to make them wary!

“Demon Execution Palm Technique, Nine stacks!” A low shout rang out. Then, an arm trembled before striking forth. The very air exploded under this single punch.

The next instant, the iron fist, with a Soul crushing might, collided brutally with the violently charging Blood Beastman Captain.

*Bang!* Above the forest, violent winds swept forth. The originally charging Captain suddenly froze solid. Then, with a muffled grunt, under the astonished gazes of numerous Blood Beastmen, he was actually sent shooting backwards, consecutively smashing through several towering trees and raising a sky full of scattered leaves.

*Bang!*

Soon, the sky full of dancing fallen leaves was torn apart as the Blood Beastman Captain’s figure emerged from within in a sorry state.

He still stared fixedly at Qin Yichen, the killing intent in his gaze not diminishing in the slightest. However, beneath that murderous aura, several traces of solemnity and wariness had been added.

Clearly, the might of Qin Yichen’s earlier punch made him understand that the fellow before him was absolutely no ordinary Early Stage Martial Ancestor youth. He seemed to possess the qualification to directly contend with himself!

Around them, those Blood Beastmen also gradually gathered, staring at Qin Yichen with gazes filled with wariness.

Within the Blood Beastmen Race, competition was incomparably brutal. Even amongst the Myriad Races, the brutality within their Race was enough to rank at the forefront.

To become a Captain tasked with special missions, one’s strength was absolutely beyond question!

Without the slightest exaggeration, when facing ordinary Late Stage Martial Ancestors, their Captain could tear his opponents into shreds with overwhelming superiority!

Yet this same Captain, practically invincible amongst peers in their hearts, had actually suffered a setback at the hands of this youth whose cultivation realm was even lower than theirs!

How could they not feel wary and shocked!

“Brat, are you sure you wish to become enemies with our Blood Beastmen Race? Believe me, no Race is willing to do such a thing!” Though the Blood Beastman Captain’s expression remained gloomy, at this moment, he did not rush to attack. Clearly, after the previous exchange, he understood that this youth before him was no simple matter.

“I have no desire to become your enemy. But, I also won’t allow anyone to harm those beside me.” Qin Yichen stared at that Captain, his momentum not falling in the slightest, speaking in clear, light tones.

“How about this, we each take a step back and go our separate ways. What do you say?”

The Captain’s eyes stared fixedly at Qin Yichen. Suddenly, the murderous aura around him dissipated considerably, and upon that face full of fierce features, a strange smile even surfaced. “That Elf is a hot potato that only our Blood Beastmen Race dares to grasp. You take your sunny path, and we won’t interfere with each other!”

“Oh? So you’re saying that as long as I don’t involve myself in her affairs, we can leave?” A slight smile also surfaced on Qin Yichen’s face. However, within his heart, several traces of vigilance arose.

Blood Beastmen were known to be treacherous and cunning. Such a rapid change of pace was truly too strange.

On this continent, insidious and crafty fellows were countless. If one so easily believed others’ words of compromise, even with formidable strength, one would not even know how one died in the end.

“Naturally.” That Captain nodded with a smile, then waved his arm. The surrounding Blood Beastmen, after a moment’s hesitation, restrained the murderous aura throughout their bodies and cleared a path.

“Many thanks, then.” Qin Yichen nodded with a smile. In a flash, he arrived before Little Ling’er.

“Big Brother Qin, don’t leave me behind…” Avril spoke rather timidly in a low voice, wanting to grasp at Qin Yichen’s robes, yet ultimately she did not extend her hand.

She naturally understood their current predicament. If Qin Yichen refused to agree, likely, all three of them would be buried here!

As Qin Yichen took Little Ling’er’s hand with one of his own, in the depths of that Captain’s eyes, bone-chilling cold light flickered. The blood spike behind him faintly shimmered with terrifyingly demonic, vivid lustre.

“Oh, right…” Suddenly, Qin Yichen turned around, causing that Captain’s expression to shift.

“What else do you want?” That Captain furrowed his brows and barked.

“What I said just now, I meant taking both of them with me. I wonder if this Fellow Brother might show some leniency?” Qin Yichen cupped his hands and said with a light smile.

“What!?” Hearing these words, the eyes of the surrounding numerous Blood Beastmen all burst forth with incredulous light.

Their Captain had given him a way out, yet he was actually this tactless? Could it be he truly believed he could contend with their Captain?!

“You’re seeking death!” Hearing this, the Blood Beastman Captain’s expression suddenly darkened. Watching the playful smile at the corner of the latter’s mouth, he understood that he had been toyed with!

“Since you insist on seeking death, then I’ll fulfil your wish!” As his words fell, a dark red blood sword emanating a foul stench emerged from behind him.
