Alchemy Master

Chapter 246, The Gifts are Too Little

Translator: Silavin

At the entrance of the Royal Palace of the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, having waited for some time already, Huyuan Liquan’s face showed no signs of impatience.

This was actually quite normal – to build relationships, the Huyuan Family could not possibly send someone with a bad temper. If they sent someone hot-tempered who caused trouble, would that not just make the conflict worse?

That would be counterproductive and not what the Huyuan Family wanted.

Seeing Lu Heze come out personally, Huyuan Liquan’s smile grew even warmer. This proved that Lu Heze and his people valued him highly.

He thus knew his purpose in coming here would be much easier to achieve.

“Not knowing of your esteemed arrival, I have failed to welcome you from afar. Please forgive me.” Lu Heze approached him with trepidation, speaking very carefully.

“Your Majesty is too kind. It is I who came unannounced, and I hope you do not mind my sudden appearance.” Huyuan Liquan also greeted him with a warm smile.

The atmosphere was harmonious.

Huyuan Liquan was very satisfied with his attitude. Likewise, Lu Heze felt relieved. After all, at least the Huyuan Family did not come here to cause trouble.

However, what Lu Heze did not understand was why the Huyuan Family would come to the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, and with such a polite attitude?

“Please, come inside!” Lu Heze stepped aside and politely welcomed.

“Certainly. Let’s walk together.” Huyuan Liquan invited him to walk side by side.

Walking one in front of the other represented a difference in status, while walking side by side meant friendship. Lu Heze naturally knew of these things.

Now, he was even more unsure what plans this visitor had.

Arriving at the main hall, everyone rose to welcome them.

Those present in the hall included Lu Heshang, Qin Yichen’s Father Qin Haoran, and his Grandfather, Qin Baihe. They were all of Qin Yichen’s closest relatives.

As for Du Binglan, she was with Lu Linghan and the others.

“You… aren’t you Lord Huyuan?” Upon seeing Huyuan Liquan in person, Lu Heshang finally recognized him and his eyes widened in shock.

He had once wanted to discuss business with the Huyuan Family, and had caught a glimpse of Huyuan Liquan from afar in the Huyuan Family’s store. At that time, he was not even qualify to go and greet Huyuan Liquan. Yet now, Huyuan Liquan was greeting him with a warm smile, making it feel that reality must be fiction.

He had heard that this important figure was actually the Younger Brother of the Huyuan Family Patriarch!

“Your Majesty, you may not know Lord Huyuan’s identity – he is the current Huyuan Family Patriarch’s own Brother!” Lu Heshang immediately reminded Lu Heze, fearing he might offend this important person.

“What!?” Lu Heze drew in a sharp breath, and his expression when looking at Huyuan Liquan clearly changed. He had thought that the visitor was just some servant or steward of the Huyuan Family. Who knew he was actually the Huyuan Family Patriarch’s own Brother.

This was someone who could make all of Central Province City tremble with just a stomp of his foot!

“How amusing.” Huyuan Liquan did not mind their lack of proper etiquette, his tone remaining just as polite. He scanned the great hall, his gaze finally landing on Qin Haoran and Qin Baihe, “May I ask who these two gentlemen are?”

“These are my in-law… Qin Haoran, and this is his elderly Father.” Lu Heze introduced them.

“Oh?” At once, a gleam appeared in Huyuan Liquan’s eyes. He had found his main targets.

“I, Huyuan Liquan, pay my respects to both of you.” He cupped his hands toward Qin Haoran and Qin Baihe, his tone becoming even more courteous.

“Greetings, Lord Huyuan.” Qin Haoran and Qin Baihe both appeared somewhat flustered, especially the Old Patriarch Qin, who did not even know where to put his hands.

“You’re too formal. If you don’t mind, just call me Liquan.” However, Huyuan Liquan’s next words left Lu Heze and Lu Heshang dumbfounded.

What was going on? Had this Lord Huyuan taken the wrong medicine?

“Bring in the gifts.” Before the four of them could react, Huyuan Liquan called out to those outside, and the guards who had come with the caravan began bringing in items from the carriages one by one, arranging them in the great hall.

“That’s a Heavenly Secret Root.”

“Heavens, isn’t that the Water Cloud Pearl? That’s worth seventy or eighty thousand silver coins!”

“That’s a Black Fantasy Bamboo…”

As he called them out, Lu Heshang became almost numb. He realized that the least valuable items were worth tens of thousands of silver coins, with the most valuable approaching a hundred thousand silver coins!

All items together were worth several hundred thousand.

This was an enormous sum. It had almost exceeded the total worth of the Heavenly Unicorn Business Alliance.

“This is just a small friendly token for our first meeting. I hope you won’t find the gifts too little – consider it a gesture of friendship.” Huyuan Liquan was very satisfied with their reactions, and he directed his words toward Qin Haoran.

Perhaps many people did not know, but he had learned through certain channels that Qin Yichen’s achievements were not limited to winning three individual segments at the Alchemy World Summit. In fact, Qin Yichen’s current status was already beyond what he could compare to.

He was now the Guest Officer of Alchemy Peak!

A teenager under twenty years old had actually become a Guest Officer of Alchemy Peak!

This might just be a nominal position. But did not this still demonstrate this youth’s ability?

At such a young age, he already possessed such ability and achievements – what about in ten years, or twenty years time!? His potential was limitless!

In short, he would definitely become someone beyond Huyuan Liquan’s reach. This was why Huyuan Liquan’s attitude toward Qin Haoran and Qin Baihe was so polite, flattering even!

“These gifts… too little…” Even though Qin Haoran did not understand much, hearing Lu Heshang’s mumblings, he knew these items were extremely valuable.

It was equivalent to being given an entire Business Alliance, yet Huyuan Liquan was still saying the gifts were too little.

Lu Heze was speechless.

However, Huyuan Liquan’s words were very artful, leaving them with no chance to refuse.

Because of Huyuan Liquan’s words, if they were to refuse now, would that not be the same as saying that the gifts were indeed too little?

None of them knew how to respond. Even so, such valuable items were absolutely something they dare not accept. Who knew if it would bring fortune or disaster?

What they did not know was that Huyuan Liquan had already made his intentions clear… to make friends. Nothing more.

“Actually, I have come here unannounced with a humble request…” Huyuan Liquan knew they were afraid to accept, fearing trouble. So, he got straight to the point and explained the situation, “A Junior of my Huyuan Family has offended Grandmaster Qin, so I am here hoping that you all could put in a good word with Grandmaster Qin to resolve this small conflict…”
