Alchemy Master

Chapter 241, One Statement Determines Fate

At this moment, even Zuo Xuezhen and Zhao Ritian, as slow as they were, noticed something was amiss.

However, what surprised Qin Yichen was that Wang Daoyun had returned, and he acted as if nothing had happened.

“After returning from the last summit, I kept pondering why Martial Artists’ injuries could be treated with Pills, while we Alchemy Masters had nothing…” Lin Yi spoke passionately, stirring everyone’s emotions. “Finally, after three years of work, I developed… the Spirit Healing Pill!”

“Screw you Mother! Your Spirit Healing Pill!? That’s our Northern Region’s Clear Mind Pill!” Zhao Ritian could not hold back anymore and cursed loudly. If Qin Yichen had not held him back, he probably would have rushed up with his fists flying. Even so, his expression still showed he wanted to bite Lin Yi to pieces.

“What Clear Mind Pill? I’ve never heard of it.” Lin Yi merely gave him a cold glance, then mockingly said, “How could your Northern Region possibly develop a Pill that treats Spiritual Energy? That’s absolutely ridiculous!”

What he said was indeed true. The Northern Region had always been weak in Pill development, and had never made any achievements over the years. Otherwise, they would not have been so thoroughly humiliated at the last summit.

The Alchemy Peak Master only glanced at the Northern Tower Master and Western Tower Master without expressing his opinion, choosing instead to observe how things would develop.

While Zhao Ritian persisted, Lin Yi remained confident. He added, “Since you claim this belongs to your Northern Region, let me ask your Northern Region Alchemy Tower’s top expert, Wang Daoyun – has your Northern Region ever developed any Pills for treating Spiritual Energy?”

With these words, all eyes in the venue fell on Wang Daoyun.

“Wang Daoyun, speak up quickly, that bastard…” Zhao Ritian anxiously shook Wang Daoyun, but was stopped by Qin Yichen.

[Haa… Zhao Ritian, you have lived a privileged life and never been deceived. You can’t even tell that at this point, the Pill Formula in Lin Yi’s hands had come from Wang Daoyun.]

“Our Northern Region… has never developed such a thing.” Wang Daoyun calmly finished speaking these words, then quietly stood aside. Looking at the seemingly deranged Zhao Ritian, his pupils held a strange, frenzied satisfaction.

Although Wang Daoyun’s talent surpassed Zhao Ritian in many other aspects, he was still inferior to Zhao Ritian in all other matters. After all, everyone in the Northern Region knew of Zhao Ritian, but how many knew of Wang Daoyun?

“You bastard! You bribed Wang Daoyun and stole our Northern Region’s achievement! Now, you dare to act all righteous!?” Zhao Ritian was so angry smoke seemed to pour from his seven orifices. He was jumping up and down in fury, but was helplessly restrained by Qin Yichen.

*Omitted explicit cursing that could even shake Heaven.*

Zhao Ritian was absolutely exceptional at cursing, continuing for several minutes without repeating a single phrase, coming up with all sorts of fresh expressions.

However, his attitude made people gradually begin to doubt Lin Yi.

After all, if there was no truth to what Zhao Ritian had said, who would argue so vehemently?

Yet, no one could judge such matters. Even the Alchemy Peak Master, Qu Huazheng, frowned, appearing to be deep in thought. Though, his heart still favoured the Western Region in regards to this matter. After all, Lin Yi’s talent was evident, and he had shown brilliant performance before. It was plausible that he could develop such a Pill.

“Peak Master, I now suspect the Northern Region of stealing my Western Region’s achievement!” While Zhao Ritian argued endlessly, Lin Yi bowed toward Qu Huazheng above, his face full of grievance, as if he was truly the victim.

“Huh!?…” The whole venue erupted in an uproar, all criticism pointing toward the Northern Region.

The possibility of his suggestion seemed even more likely!

However, Zhao Ritian nearly exploded with anger, smoke billowing from his nostrils, unable to speak a word as he glared at Lin Yi, his whole body trembling.

*Heh!* Yet on Qin Yichen’s face, there was not a trace of anger. Instead, he looked as if he were watching a clown jumping around.

The Clear Mind Pill was merely the most basic Pill for treating injuries to one’s Soul. In his era, the Clear Mind Pill had long been obsolete and unused.

It was just in this era, it was like opening the door to a new age.

The Clear Mind Pill was the key to this door.

“Zhao Ritian, do you have evidence that this Pill was developed by your Northern Region?” Alchemy Peak Master Qu Huazheng spoke up.

He asked this after considering Qin Yichen’s brilliant performance in the previous two segments, giving the Northern Region a chance to explain.

“I…” Zhao Ritian was stunned.

Evidence?

How could he produce evidence?

After the Clear Mind Pill was developed, it had never been made public. Even if they wanted to prove it, all witnesses were from the Northern Region Alchemy Tower. They were all Elders, Deacons, and the Tower Master. Even if they spoke up, no one would believe them.

Seeing Zhao Ritian speechless, the Western Region Alchemy Tower Master smiled, Lin Yi smiled, and Wang Daoyun’s lips also carried a faint cold smile.

“So, you cannot prove this belongs to your Northern Region?” Qu Huazheng’s expression immediately became serious, about to speak words of rebuke.

In his view, Zhao Ritian was already causing trouble.

As for the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master, Zuo Xuezhen, he stood there without saying a word. Although he was livid, at this moment, he could only place his hopes on Qin Yichen.

After all, Qin Yichen had not spoken yet. Zuo Xuezhen believed that Qin Yichen would certainly be able to prove that this Pill had been developed by him.

“Peak Master, I have a question I’d like to ask Senior Lin Yi.” Just as Qu Huazheng was about to make his final judgment, Qin Yichen finally stepped forward.

Seeing it was him, Qu Huazheng’s expression softened slightly. “Ask away.”

“Very well.” After receiving his permission, Qin Yichen turned to Lin Yi and spoke, “Senior Lin Yi, there’s something I don’t understand – how exactly does your Spirit Healing Pill manage to treat injuries to the Soul?”

Very few people had encountered Compound Pills. Those who knew the Clear Mind Pill was a Compound Pill were probably only Elder Xiao Lin, Deacon Min, and the Northern Region Tower Master.

Upon hearing him ask such a seemingly simple question, the people around shook their heads. Because in their view, Qin Yichen was not trying to cause trouble for Lin Yi, but rather seemed to be asking for guidance.

Yet, what they had not expected was that Lin Yi remained silent for a long time.

How did this Pill treat injuries to one’s Soul? This was actually the key point that he did not understand.

To be fair, once everyone understood the answer to this question, developing another Pill to treat Soul injuries would be as easy as turning one’s palm.

Qu Huazheng quickly realized the crucial point as well.

Of course, the various Tower Masters had also thought of this.

Looking at the silently contemplating Lin Yi, Zuo Xuezhen’s face finally showed a small smile. [As expected, Qin Yichen is truly reliable.]

Zhao Ritian had cursed for so long without any use, and had instead caused misunderstandings. Yet, with just one small comment from Qin Yichen, the situation had immediately begun to reverse.

Unfortunately, Wang Daoyun actually did not know about this either. So, he naturally had no way to tell Lin Yi these things.
