Alchemy Master

Chapter 223, I’ll Help You Show Off and Take You Flying

*Snap!* Finally, after a brutal beating, the wooden staff as thick as an arm finally broke apart before Qin Yichen’s shocked eyes.

The Alchemy Tower Master casually threw the broken staff into the corner of the courtyard. Only then did Qin Yichen understand how that pile of broken staffs in the corner had accumulated…

Zhao Lin got up from the ground and immediately pulled out a small iron box from his chest. When opened, it contained nothing precious – just an ordinary bronze mirror.

After checking and confirming that his handsome face remained unscathed thanks to his arden protection, Zhao Lin slowly put it back in his robes.

“You old dog, seems like you were smart enough not to hit my handsome face!” Zhao Lin cursed under his breath while dusting himself off.

“You old fossil, if my Father sees how you beat his precious Son like this, he’ll definitely demolish your Alchemy Tower!”

“Your Father was the one who told me to discipline you!” The Tower Master’s body trembled, his mouth twitching, until he finally could not help but roar.

This fellow did not even have an ounce of self-awareness!

Finally, the Tower Master stopped paying attention to Zhao Lin. He adjusted his robes and walked straight to the pavilion, looking at Qin Yichen.

“You three will represent our Alchemy Tower at the Alchemy World Summit.”

At this point, Zhao Lin also walked over and impatiently called out. “Old man, get to the point already!”

The Tower Master glared at Zhao Lin, his chest heaving violently. Finally, he let out a long breath, suppressing the urge to beat Zhao Lin again.

“I called you here mainly because there’s something I want to discuss with you.” The Tower Master looked at Qin Yichen, showing a trace of embarrassment on his face.

“This old man wants to ask if you can share the Clear Mind Pill Formula with me and Wang Daoyun, so we can use that formula to participate in the innovation competition at the Alchemy World Summit.”

As if annoyed by the Tower Master’s hesitation, Zhao Lin could not help but speak for him.

“Ahem… since you’re the one who developed this Clear Mind Pill, it can be entered in the competition. Although it’s a Third or Fourth Grade Pill, its value is hard to match even when compared to ordinary Fifth Grade Pills. It is extremely difficult to beat, so I would like you to allow them to use this Pill Formula.”

The Tower Master coughed twice, and finally sighed, nodding in agreement.

“I’ll follow the Tower Master’s wishes.” Hearing this, Qin Yichen smiled bitterly to himself. It was not that the Central Province Alchemy Tower’s proficiency and skill in Alchemy was low, but rather it just did not know how to innovate.

From the Tower Master’s words, it seemed like some participants in this Alchemy Tower Summit must have developed excellent formulas.

“Old man, he had already agreed to it. Quickly let me see the formula!” As soon as Qin Yichen nodded, Zhao Lin called out impatiently. On the side, Wang Daoyun’s eyes flashed with surprise.

He never expected Qin Yichen to be so generous as to share the Clear Mind Pill Formula that even the Tower Master highly praised.

The Tower Master casually tossed a formula to Zhao Lin, and after nodding satisfactorily at Qin Yichen, he smiled and said: “Consider this Clear Mind Pill Formula as your contribution to the Alchemy Tower. The Contribution Points for this formula is enough to promote you to Four Stars.”

“This formula was originally developed by Elder Xiao Lin, I just happened to help a little bit.” Qin Yichen said modestly.

“Alright, let’s not dwell on these things. Well, Zhao Lin, later, you shall be the one to explain the rules of the Alchemy World Summit to Qin Yichen. You’ll set out tomorrow, so don’t be late.”

After the Tower Master finished speaking, he walked into the courtyard, completely unaware that Zhao Lin, holding the formula, had already fallen into a trance.

The next day, by noon, Qin Yichen still had not seen any sign of Zhao Lin.

It was under Wang Daoyun’s lead that the two of them went to Zhao Lin’s residence, only to find him concentrating on refining Pills in front of a Pill Furnace.

Seeing Zhao Lin’s serious demeanour, neither of them wanted to disturb him.

Finally, after more than ten minutes, once Zhao Lin finished his work, a fragrant Pill shot out from the Pill Furnace, which he quickly caught and stored in a jade bottle he had prepared beforehand.

[How has his Alchemy Technique improved so much!?] Seeing Zhao Lin’s fluid movements, Wang Daoyun was shocked, though his face did not show it.

“Oh? You’re here?” True to his nature as an ‘Alchemy fanatic’, Zhao Lin only noticed Qin Yichen and his companion in his room after he finished refining.

“Haha, Qin Yichen, I, Zhao Lin, rarely admire others, but your formula has truly opened my eyes. However, why must Withered Frost Grass, this seemingly useless herb, be added to the medicinal ingredients?”

After understanding the Clear Mind Pill’s effects and having successfully refined it, Zhao Lin became even more aware of its value. He immediately walked to Qin Yichen’s side, unusually speaking a complete sentence without a single curse word.

“This Alchemy fanatic…” Qin Yichen shook his head helplessly, seeing that Zhao Lin had completely forgotten about their departure.

“Oh! Damn! I almost forgot, we’re supposed to set out today, right?” Looking at how the two were staring at him, Zhao Lin suddenly slapped his forehead and jumped up.

Zhao Lin hurriedly started packing his things. However, he kept feeling a resentful gaze fixed on him. Finally, when he turned around and saw Wang Daoyun’s ‘hungry’ expression. He reluctantly pulled out the Clear Mind Pill Formula and handed it over.

“Well, take a look at this formula, but don’t dirty it! I want to keep it as a memento!” Although it was just a handwritten copy, Zhao Lin was still extremely reluctant to part with it.

Wang Daoyun accepted the formula with a helpless expression. After scanning it once, his gaze became fixated on it.

“Nourishes and stabilises the Soul to achieve the effect of healing injuries related to it!?” After seeing the first line in the introduction, his heart trembled violently. This… completely overturns his conception of treating injuries to one’s Soul.

“If this Clear Mind Pill really has such effects, then with this formula, wouldn’t it be simple to get top ranking at the Alchemy World Summit?”

At this moment, Wang Daoyun finally understood why the Tower Master personally allowed Qin Yichen to participate in this summit.

With this formula, even if Qin Yichen was just an average Apprentice, their journey would definitely not be in vain.

The summit had three competitions, and one of them was for innovation and improvement.

Given the Clear Mind Pill’s effects, it would definitely rank in the top three throughout all of history.

“Good, let’s go! Let Lord Zhao help you show off and take you flying!” While Wang Daoyun was still deeply shocked, Zhao Lin grandly waved his hand and declared.
