What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

I followed the guy to a three story building located near the castle, the entrance guarded by several mean looking people that were a mix of Mahuns and Wrunchs, all of them armed to the teeth.

One of them turned to eye us before stepping forward to block the way.

“New merch?” He asked our guide.

“Seems like it. Can’t believe how many he goes through each week. This one’s apparently a new trader too, gonna need to give her an orientation of the place.”

“Must be planning something big I guess,” The other guy mused before his gaze shifted to my group behind the guide. “What’s with the maids?”

The guide shrugged, “Who cares? Probably the leader’s fetish.”

Hey! I’ll have you know that maid uniforms are cool!

The other guy raised an eyebrow but did not comment on it before turning back to the guide, “How many people are there?”

Our guide turned around to look at me, hinting that I should be the one who should answer that question.

“Around thirty,” I answered.

The person who asked whistled, “Damn… That many? What is he even doing with all these slaves?”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of the bandits raise his head and open his mouth, presumably to protest that he wasn’t a slave when the Shadow Guard standing beside him grabbed him by the back of his neck.

He immediately shut his mouth and lowered his head to hide his face.

Seems like my Shadow Guards have a good handle of things here, no wonder they didn’t say anything when the guards at the gate were questioning us earlier.

The person standing at the door then gestured at his comrades, prompting one of them to walk towards the door and unlock it with a set of keys they fished out from a pouch on their waist.

“Go right on in then.”

Our guide nodded at him before stepping through the door, prompting the rest of us to follow after him.

The door was quite small so I was afraid that it might be hard for over fifty people to fit through the doorway but surprisingly, the area behind the door was a large hall.

It was almost as if they expected something like this to happen and were prepared for it.

Everyone filed into the hall and the guide turned to us, “Alright, have your slaves stand in front, I’ll go get the person in charge.”

He then left us and I turned to the group of bandits that were chained up behind me.

They shuffled around but made no move to do what that guy had requested,

Welp, we can do this the hard way too.

A mental command from me and my Shadow Guards started shoving them to move the prisoners forward, getting them all to line up in front of them.

The bandits did so albeit unwillingly, the look of dissatisfaction clear on their faces.

By the time the guide returned with another male Mahun in tow, all the bandits were properly arranged in a group in front of my Shadow Guards.

The person who came with our guide looked like the typical greedy merchant where he was fat, bald and his entire body was adorned with copious amounts of jewellery.

He was even in the midst of munching on a large piece of meat that he was holding by the bone, grease and bits of meat still surrounding his mouth.

“Om nom nom… What’s this? I thought we were only going to get more slaves tomorrow?” The fat guy asked.

Our guide looked unsure as well, “I… Don’t know… But this group seems to be new here. Maybe they were asked to come here?”

“Hmph… Who’s the leader here?”

I stepped forward, “I am.”

The fat guy looked me up and down while continuing to take another bite out of the meat he was holding.

“Hmm… I don’t know you. Why are you even wearing a mask? Where did these slaves come from?”

Well… I honestly didn’t think I’d get this far so let’s just make up a story on the spot.

“We are a former Mercenary group and we got these slaves from a bandit fort nearby. We were then asked to transport them here.”

I was expecting him to either know what I was talking about or be completely confused and it seems like it was the former.

“That place huh… I guess they must have conducted more raids outside of schedule… Whatever. But thirty in one go? I don’t really have– Hey wait a minute… Where are their slave collars?”

I blinked at him, “Slave collars?”

“Yeah? Aren’t you guys supposed to have collared them first before transferring the ownership to us? Why aren’t they collared?”

“Ah… I’m not sure… We got them like this,” I half lied.

“That’s odd… Don’t tell me they’re trying to scrimp on slave collars now…”

“Ahem… Could I ask something?”

The fat guy turned back to me, “What? Are you gonna ask if you can keep some of them for yourself?”

“No… I was wondering who am I delivering these slaves for? They never actually told me about the client except for the location I was supposed to bring them to.”

The fat guy paused before turning to the guide who was also looking back at him with a weird look on his face.

He then turned back to me, “In that case… Could I ask that you follow me for now? I think it would be best that we start your orientation as soon as possible if we are to continue doing business in the future.”

Err… You can’t tell me that this doesn’t look suspicious at all… Is he planning to do something? Did I say something wrong? I thought what I said was reasonable though?

The fat guy continued, “I’ll have the staff prepare some sweets at the back for you.”

Ohhhh!! Why didn’t you say so! Let’s go, let’s go!!

I followed behind him and he brought us through a side door into what looked like a sitting room.

He gestured to the couch and I took a seat on it, eager for the sweets to be served.

That was when I felt my body freeze up the moment I touched the couch and the fat guy tossed away the meat in his hands to narrow his eyes at me.

“Who are you? How did you know about us?”

I tried to break free but whatever it was negated my strength and stopped me from moving completely. The only exception was my mouth was still free to move so I could talk.

“You don’t need to try. No matter how strong you are, you won’t be able to break free. So for starters, why don’t you answer my questions first? Don’t bother shouting for help either because this room is soundproof.”

Hmm… Hmm… I see~ Looks like he got me~

I cleared my throat, “Ahem. Before that, I just want to make sure of something. You guys are affiliated with the lord of this border fort, yes?”

His brows furrowed slightly, “I don’t think you’re in a position to ask any questions right now.”

“No, no. I just want to make sure that I’m talking to the right people. If I was mistaken then I think there might be a misunderstanding you see. I met with Carlas.”

His face shifted and I guessed that he recognised the name.

“Who is that?” He asked, clearly lying through his teeth.

I feigned surprise, “Oh… So you aren’t the people Carlas told me about. In that case, I think this is a misunderstanding. There were some people who killed the leader and we were brought in to complete the delivery. If you’re not the intended recipient, then we can just forget this ever happened.”

He started to panic slightly, “Wait, wait! The leader was killed?! What happened? What about the bandits at the fort?!”

Welp, that’s all I needed to hear.

I’m still not sure if this was directly related to the lord himself or maybe Carlas was acting independently… But I guess we’ll find out.

“Katsuki,” I called out.

My Inugami maid materialised beside me and her daggers slashed out in an arc, the couch I was sitting on cut into pieces and freeing me from that enchantment.

“Wha… What? But… The room is soundproofed?”

Katsuki gave him a side eye, “A maid will come whenever her Mistress calls for her, no matter if she calls her from a place if she can be heard or not.”

Err… I don’t know how that works, Katsuki… But ok.

The fat guy then turned around and tried to run towards the other door at the other side of the room and I had a moment to wonder just how he was planning to escape when he can’t even run that fast.

All I had to do was point my finger at him and Katsuki disappeared from beside me to reappear above the guy and delivering a kick to the back of his head, knocking him out.

Right…

Guess we’re going to have to raid this place as well.

Am I even getting paid for this?
