“Uuuuuu… Must you all go today? Why not stay for another week? Or maybe a few more weeks? No, no! Just a month! A month will do!”

I looked down at the Marchioness that was currently grabbing on to my foot while crying rather pathetically.

Right now, we were preparing to leave Unerolia’s manor house and everything was ready to go so we just needed to load ourselves up to the carriage and we would be setting off.

But then the Marchioness came along and started crying while asking us to stay for a few days longer which is what led to our current situation.

“Umm… Didn’t we already agree to meet again when you go to the capital, Sister Rolia?” I pointed out.

“I’ll need to wait so long for that… I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna, I don’t wannaaaaa…” She whined, kicking her legs around like a child throwing a tantrum.

What am I supposed to do with this woman…

She suddenly stopped crying and sat up, “Oh! I know! I can just follow you guys on your inspection!”

Esmeral sighed behind her, “Mistress… You still have duties here. You cannot just leave them undone.”

“Arrgghh! Can’t I just hand over the responsibilities to you? You already know what to do for most of it anyway!”

“In that case, does that mean Mistress is going to leave me behind?”

“Ah… Ok, that’s bad… I don’t want that… Uggghh… What should I do?”

She’s still grabbing onto my ankles despite her crying by the way…

Mother leaned towards her and chuckled, “Ara, ara~ Is little Une that attached to my little one now? Ufufufu~”

The Marchioness scowled at Mother, “Come on, Madam Nilm… Like as if you can stand to be away from Aster as well.”

“Ufufufu~ Of course not~ But that is because she is my cutest little one~ That’s why we must go now and you have to stay~ Come visit us when you are free, hmm? Now Mary, if you would remove her from my little one~”

Oh wow, and here I thought Mother was going to say something like she could come with us or something.

Unerolia made a distressed sound as the Trasif went ahead to pry her off my foot and pulled her away from me, not even caring that the Marchioness was practically begging the maid to let her stay.

Heck, even Esmeral was helping her pull the crying woman away.

I felt a little sorry for her but I decided not to dwell on it and turned to Mother, “Where will we be headed to next, Mommy?”

“Ufufufu~ We’ll just be going to Sandsedge Fort to take a look at the border, my little one.”

Upon hearing that, Unerolia suddenly let out a shout, “That’s it! I’m going to go inspect the border! Esmeral! Arrange a carriage! Oh, what’s this?! You girls are also going there? What a coincidence!”

Esmeral let out another sigh, “Mistress… Your work–“

“Pack them up and I’ll do them in the carriage! Get a courier to accompany us so they can deliver them back to the city if need be! Come on! That fort is also part of my domain so I have every right to inspect it, right?! Besides… There was that issue with the Creas not matching up with the records for that fort right? This is the best time to go and inspect them right now!”

Esmeral sighed again and I was now a little worried about her since she has been sighing so much.

“Mistress… What about the Off-Worlder in the dungeons?”

“Huh? What about him? Just seal him up and put him to work. Wasn’t that what we planned?”

“What about the interrogation and the assimilation for him?”

“Bahhh! Just get one of the girls to get started on him first! I’ll finish with him when I come back! It’s not like we put him on a time limit right?”

“… Understood Mistress…”

“Alright! Then let’s go– Gack!!”

The Marchioness was just about to march back to us when Esmeral grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back, “Not so fast, Mistress.”

She turned around to scowl at her maid, “What now? You’re not gonna stop me for some other reason now, are you?”

Esmeral looked pointedly at Unerolia’s nightgown that she was still wearing, which consisted of a red diaphanous negligee that showed off the black panties she was wearing and the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra.

In case you were wondering, I slept in between Mother and Unerolia last night. And no, nothing happened, we only just slept which I found kind of ironic to be honest.

Still, I did wake up to having my face squished in between both of their chest…

Unerolia blinked and gasped, as though she only just realised that she was still dressed in her nightgown.

“I’ll go get changed right now! Wait for me!”

Mother giggled, “Ara, ara? Is little Une really asking for us to wait for you when we are already prepared to leave? Ufufufu~”

Esmeral bowed to Mother, “We shall set off after we have made the necessary preparations, Madam Nilm. Please take care on your journey.”

“Ufufufu~ And thank you for hosting us, my dear~” Mother nodded at her before placing her hand on my shoulder. “Come now, my little one~”

I was ushered out through the door where the last thing I saw was Unerolia rushing up the stairs presumably to get changed.

Outside, Katsuki was waiting in front of the carriage and bowed upon seeing me.

“Good morning, Mistress. The carriage is already prepared for you.”

“Good morning, Katsuki~ You look lovely today~” I greeted her.

“Thank you Mistress. You are looking more divine everyday, Mistress.”

Oh you sweet talker, you~ I’m gonna fluff you more later~

Both Mother and I climbed into the carriage before the door shut behind us, prompting the rest of our entourage to prepare to set off as well.

Katsuki and Mary will be riding on top of our carriage as our guards alongside the rest of the Royal Guards.

The carriage started to move and Mother pulled me to sit on her lap as usual, humming a tune as she started to pat my head while cuddling me.

While I was enjoying the sensation of being cuddled, I thought to ask about our next destination.

“Mommy? How long will it take for us to get there?”

“Ara? Is my little one already anxious to reach there? Ufufufu~ It will take at least two to three days which I suspect little Une will catch up when we make camp for the first night~~”

“So what’s that place like?”

“Ufufufu~ Do you mean the fort that we are going to?”

I nodded, which was an action that I felt was rather silly since my head was currently squished in between Mother’s bosoms and she couldn’t really see my head from where she was.

But I guess she felt her boobs bounce from my head bobbing and understood I was nodding my head.

“Fufufu~ Let’s see~ It would be better for little Une to tell you more about it since it’s her territory but I suppose I can share some things about it~ First of all, it’s a fort town just like East Border Fort that we have been to before. Probably with a little bit of difference in design since that place was built back when there were desert raiders raiding the kingdom~ Ara? Now that Mama thinks about it… They are still around but just less in number~”

“Eh? There are desert raiders?”

“Ufufufu~ That’s right~ Though they are now more commonly known by another name. Does my little one want to guess?”

“Err… I don’t know? Slavers?”

“Ara, ara~ My little one is so smart! That’s right~ Though they all used to be the same, now there are two different groups where one are the legal slavers and the other are illegal slavers~”

I tilted my head up to look at Mother, “Umm… What’s the difference?”

“My little one remembers that there are voluntary slaves, yes? The legal slavers will go around to villages and towns where people are able to sell themselves to them to become slaves. They do not take anyone by force, though there are some who aren’t above scamming their clients with one sided contracts like buying them for less than market price~”

“And the illegal slavers?”

“Fufufuu~ It is as my little one might imagine, they are the complete opposite. They will take people by force and sell them into slavery~”

I frowned at that, “But who buys them?”

“There is a market for them, my little one~ Bandits, corrupt nobles, occult mages and others who require their slaves to have no freedom of will~”

“Doesn’t anyone do anything about it?”

“Ufufufu~ Of course there are, my little one~ Illegal slavers are granted the kill on sight designations in all countries~ If you turn them in, you get a reward for their heads~”

That’s nice.

Well, I guess we learn something new everyday. But since we’re not going across the borders, we shouldn’t meet any illegal slavers anyway~
