Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 1284: Chapter 1284: Starting Over

Only cash, no checks or anything like that.

Suddenly Yuanyuan remembered that her old bag was still in space, there should be money inside, right?

She controlled and rummaged in space, and there really was over four hundred sixty dollars in cash, that was good, she could take a taxi.

The whole family needed two cabs and headed directly to the biggest traditional medicine store.

Yuanyuan was ready with two three-hundred-year-old ginsengs and one hundred-year-old one.

She didn’t know the current ginseng price, but someone knowledgeable should recognize this is wild ginseng.

She felt frustrated, why didn’t she stash more cash in space? She hadn’t paid attention before.

They arrived at the medicine store and were warmly welcomed.

”Miss, I want to sell ginseng here, do you purchase?”

All the female clerks in the store were staring at Tan Shaoting, which made Yuanyuan quite uncomfortable. She thought she should quickly get the money; without it, moving an inch is really hard.

This is a big city, and pharmacies here generally don’t buy herbs of unknown origin.

Yuanyuan sensed their dilemma, ”Could you please ask, this is a hundred-year-old wild ginseng.”

”Miss, please wait a moment, I’ll go and ask.”

In a short while, an elderly man came out, dressed in a Tang suit, looking quite dignified.

”Ma’am, let’s go inside and talk.”

Tan Shaoting and Yuanyuan followed the elderly man away, while Qi Yan, Qi Wen, and the others waited outside with the younger siblings.

Actually, they were simply watching the people coming and going from outside.

The five siblings sitting there drew a lot of attention. Everyone was looking at them.

Yuanyuan and the others entered a lounge.

”Ma’am, I heard from a clerk that you have a hundred-year-old wild ginseng?”

Yuanyuan nodded, ”Yes, we urgently need money. Do you purchase here? And how’s the price?”

”Ma’am, it depends on the appearance.”

Yuanyuan took out the ginseng wrapped in white cloth and handed it over to the elderly man.

The man used a magnifying glass to look at it, ”Not bad, this is wild ginseng. It’s over one hundred thirty years old. Ma’am, do you have a price in mind for it?”

”Sir, you’re not being straightforward, how about this, you name a price, if it’s suitable, I’ll sell it to you, if not, I can take the ginseng elsewhere to sell, there are plenty of buyers who know its value.”

The elderly man smiled and nodded, ”We buy wild ginseng by weight. For this root, I can offer twenty thousand at most.”

Yuanyuan smiled, pulled it back, wrapped it again, put it in her bag, and stood up smiling.

”Sorry to bother you.”

”Ma’am, I just quoted our purchasing price.”

Yuanyuan did not look back, and the couple walked out.

”We’re leaving.”

Qi Yan and the others also stood up.

Just then, the elderly man followed them out, ”Ma’am, please wait a moment.”

Yuanyuan waved it off, and the family left directly.

”Bullied by big stores?” Tan Shaoting asked with a frown.

Yuanyuan nodded, ”Seems like it.”

The family then went to another renowned traditional medicine store.

”Miss, your item is good, but we don’t accept external herbs, however, someone was looking for ginseng over a hundred years old a few days ago, I’ll call them over, you can negotiate on your own.”

Yuanyuan had heard the responsible person’s true intentions here; their pricing seemed reasonable.

Soon, a woman in her fifties came in, looking for it on behalf of the elderly in her family.

”Ms. Xing, this is a one hundred thirty-year-old wild ginseng. The appearance is excellent, this lady is the owner, you both negotiate a price.”

”Miss, could you name a price? I truly need it.” The elderly haven’t been physically well their whole life, and as they age it worsens. As long as it’s good, the price isn’t an issue.

”Ma’am, if I weren’t in trouble, I wouldn’t sell this ginseng; how about you give me one hundred, then it’s yours, any less and I can’t sell it.

These are really rare finds.”

”One hundred? Isn’t the price too high?”

Yuanyuan just smiled. These things are indeed hard to encounter. If they want it, they want it, if not, they’ll think of other options.

This Ms. Xing hesitated for a while but agreed.

”Ma’am, one more request, I only want cash.”

”Cash? Alright, wait a moment.”

The opulently dressed woman made a call, shortly after someone would bring the money.

The group chatted casually, Ms. Xing also noticed the family’s appearance. She smiled and kept looking at the two younger ones, growing increasingly fond of them.

”Miss, what’s your relationship?” They had some guesses, and the more they looked, the more it appeared alike.

”This is my husband, these are my five children.”

”Haha, indeed, I didn’t dare guess earlier, you don’t seem like a woman who could have such grown children.”

Yuanyuan just laughed, not knowing how to explain.

”Miss, if there are more such items, you can come find me. After Mr. Li’s appraisal, if it’s genuine, I’ll surely want it.”

Yuanyuan smiled, this Ms. Xing wasn’t bad, so she took out another cloth package and handed it to Mr. Li.

”Ma’am having more treasures?”

When the old man opened the package, he exclaimed in delight, ”Three hundred years old?”

Yuanyuan nodded with a smile, ”I today find Ms. Xing likable, otherwise I wouldn’t have sold the one hundred thirty-year-old without also selling the three hundred-year-old. Hearing Ms. Xing wanted more, since I have it, I bring it out for you to see.”

Ms. Xing was quite excited, having heard that the medicinal effects of three-hundred-year wild ginseng are more than ten times that of a hundred-year one.

”Mr. Li, how’s the appearance?”

The old man’s hand trembled while holding a magnifying glass, mumbling, ”Such a good thing. Indeed, a good thing.”

Ms. Xing looked at Yuanyuan, ”Sister, I’ll call you that, I want it, name your price?”

Yuanyuan smiled and nodded, ”Sister Xing, I don’t know the price, let’s hear Mr. Li’s opinion.”

They waited by the side as the old man continued to marvel, given such specialists tend to have peculiar habits.

Qi Hao and Qi Xuan couldn’t stay inside any longer, Qi Wen and the other three siblings took the two little ones outside.

Five minutes later, the old man finally set down the magnifying glass, ”Indeed a good thing, it’s at least three hundred fifty years old.”

”Mr. Li, set a price, my dad could greatly benefit from this. The elderly haven’t been well, yet he kept working for better family life.

Now he’s aged, his health worsens, and the family business thrives, it’s time to improve his health with good things, money is no problem. She now thinks whatever the price is, she’ll get the good thing for the patriarch.”
