Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 1257: Chapter 1257: Leaving

Zhao Qingjie tied all the luggage together. Honestly, even like this, he was still not at ease, so the couple took turns watching the children and the luggage.

Thankfully, it’s just three days. They are worried in their hearts. What to do when they go back for such a long time?

Yanli and her sister borrowed two tricycles to come to pick up their family.

They had discussed it clearly, one person stayed outside to watch the tricycles, and Zhao Yanping went inside to wait.

The train was delayed by more than an hour, which is also a normal thing.

Zhao Yanping knew that they would have a lot of luggage going back, but she didn’t expect so much.

She also went over to help, but even with so many people, they couldn’t move it all at once.

Xuemei watched Father-in-law clinging to the jar. It’s okay not to do anything, but he didn’t watch the kids or the luggage.

”Zhao Qingjie, I’m going back with you! What’s this? So much luggage, not watching the kids or the luggage, what are you trying to do?”

Zhao Yanping really didn’t know what to do.

”Xuemei, you stay here and watch the kids and the luggage.”

This time, only the two siblings moved.

”Qingjie, what are all these things you’re bringing? How come there’s so much?”

”Big Sister, these are things we use regularly. If we don’t bring them back, it’ll be hard to get them in the future.”

”You’re taking so much luggage, what will you do after getting off the train? Even in the county, it’s still far from home, not to mention we have to switch cars once.”

Zhao Qingjie thought about it, but he couldn’t bear to part with anything. He figured he’d deal with it when the time came. If necessary, they’d hire a car. It will definitely save money compared to buying these things back home.

Yanli looked at the situation, her eyelid twitched, but she didn’t say anything. As long as Second Brother was willing.

They moved three times altogether, and finally loaded everything onto the car.

”Second, come to my place,” Zhao Yanping asked.

Zhao Qingjie shook his head, ”No, let’s go straight home.”

The kids are in school at this time. Yanli had the key, and after opening the door, she directly pushed the tricycles inside.

Xuemei let out a sigh of relief upon returning home. It wasn’t easy, thinking about spending nearly a month on the train made her worried.

The two sisters helped tidy up, ”Dad, Second, I’m going back to cook, soon Minghua will come to call you for dinner.”

”Also, I’ll return the tricycles.”

After they left, Xuemei lay down and didn’t move.

Zhiping was also sluggish these days. He used to think how nice it would be to take the train. Now he knows he really doesn’t want to take it.

”Dad, you should put Mom’s ashes in the corner, the house is full of kids, it’s not good for them either.”

Zhao Tian reluctantly put them in the corner as he had to stay here for three more days before going back.

Xuemei lay on the bed feeling very displeased.

Watching Father-in-law’s behavior along the way, she really didn’t want to see him.

But it wasn’t up to her. Looking at how clean it was here, she thought it was still better to have a young woman, Xiao Ling and Xiao Le are so capable.

Zhao Yanping already prepared lunch, and Minghua returned, letting him go call Grandpa to come over for a meal.

Minghua knew Zhixue was leaving, he was also reluctant.

Zhao Tian and the others followed, coming to the eldest daughter’s home. There was stewed tofu, and vermicelli with cabbage and meat stew.

The four of them on the train just made do with food. Now, eating home-cooked food, they ate very contentedly.

”Dad, you all go rest, come back in the evening to eat. Fusheng and the others are also at home.”

”They didn’t go out driving?”

”No, they’re no longer drivers with the transport team, they’re in the police station.”

Zhao Qingjie felt envious upon hearing this, why couldn’t he arrange for a police station job for himself?

In the afternoon, Zhao Yanping still went to work, it’s truly difficult to take time off.

Once the family returned, they lay down to sleep. The three days on the train weren’t easy.

Zhixue knew Mom and Dad would come today. After school, he hurriedly went home.

These days, he couldn’t eat or sleep well, just worried that Mom and Dad would disagree.

Xiao Ling and Xiao Le finished school late, all the primary school kids had returned home. Zhixue got home and found the front door locked from the inside, knowing that Mom and Dad must have come.

He was about to knock on the door but held back, thinking he’d better jump over the wall.

He opened the door latch, as his siblings would be back soon.

He quietly went inside and saw Mom and little brother sleeping in the older sister’s room. Grandpa and Dad were in their room.

Zhao Qingjie heard the noise, got up and saw his son in the room, and sat down, ”Back from school?”

”Yes, Dad, when did you get back?”

”We came back at noon. Where are your older sisters?”

”Older Sister and Second Sister finish school late. I knew you were back, so I ran back first; they’ll be home soon.”

Zhao Qingjie nodded.

Zhixue was very anxious, ”Dad, I don’t want to leave here. I want to study here; we’re all here.”

Zhao Qingjie never thought his son wouldn’t want to leave here.

”How will you live if you stay? There’s food and tuition, all needing money.”

Zhixue lowered his head, ”Dad, I really want to study here.

Dad, I will definitely study hard.”

At this time Zhao Tian got up too. ”You want to stay here, but the family can’t take care of you.” After all, he was his eldest grandson. He really liked him.

”Grandpa, Dad, I don’t want to leave here. I’m already familiar here, and I’m about to enter junior high. I want to go to high school, to university.

After going back, who knows what will happen. Dad, I’m begging you, I want to stay here.”

Zhao Qingjie looked at his son’s pleading expression and finally sighed, ”Alright, if you want to stay, then stay. I’ll call Uncle, and you’ll buy food from their house.”

”Dad, it’s not possible to get food from the farm anymore. My Uncle and aunt no longer drive.”

Zhao Qingjie suddenly remembered, ”Zhixue, then you’ll have to rely on food tickets. But there’s just a little there, will you have enough?”

Zhixue shook his head, he was young, but knew now was not the time to act boastfully.

”Not enough, but I will go out to work for others, they will also give some food and vegetables.”

Zhao Tian sighed, ”Alright, stay then, maybe this house will be yours in the future.”

Xiao Le came back just in time to hear this, and in her heart, she sneered, her mom had indeed guessed correctly.

She lifted the door curtain and entered, ”Grandpa, Mom left this house to us three sisters.”

Zhao Tian hadn’t thought about it just now. His granddaughter saying this made him a bit embarrassed. But soon, he thought that they couldn’t rely on them anymore.

Zhixue felt a bit embarrassed, ”Second Sister, I didn’t mean that.”

”You’d better not think that way.” Xiao Le finished speaking and went out. Today her stomach was upset, she missed the last class, or she wouldn’t have known they had such thoughts.
