Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 1186: Chapter 1186: Home

Feng Shanshan took out a pen and paper and started writing down the things she needed. As she wrote, she realized just how many things were missing.

Hu Zi looked at her embarrassed expression, ”It’s okay, you don’t need to worry about money and tickets.”

They actually had quite a bit of money on hand. Back then, the eldest always shared with them, and they hadn’t spent their salaries for many years. Plus, there were these rewards and subsidies, so each of them had quite a bit of money.

”Okay then, I won’t be polite. We are actually missing quite a few things.”

”You don’t need to be polite with me.”

After Feng Shanshan finished writing, she read it to Hu Zi again, ”Take a look and see what else is missing?”

Hu Zi shook his head, ”I’m not as meticulous as you, you just decide. If something is missing in the future, we can buy it then.”

The tailor arrived, a middle-aged man, and he came directly with a measuring tape.

While measuring the size for the curtains, Feng Shanshan told the tailor that she wanted split curtains.

”Split curtains use more fabric.”

”How much more could they use? If you like them, let’s get them made.”

With Hu Zi’s words, of course, the tailor had no objections.

In the end, they ordered curtains for three rooms and door curtains, and they wanted valances for two rooms, six sets of bedding, and two quilts.

”If the bed is too hard, you can buy a coir mattress, those are quite practical.”

Feng Shanshan was, of course, delighted. In her past life, she liked soft beds. Here, there was really no choice but to go with it.

They also had the tailor prepare bed sheets, duvet covers, and pillows, which was quite a big job.

Hu Zi did not hesitate. He directly gave all the cotton tickets and fabric tickets he had, and after calculating, he still paid 210 yuan.

It was already late, and the two left with smiles on their faces.

Hu Zi drove Feng Shanshan back, and she needed to wash up and change clothes, while he went to find the elder brother and sister-in-law.

Tan Shaoting looked at the silly grin on Hu Zi’s face, feeling it was too much to look at.

Hu Zi felt very proud, thinking that he was more capable than them. At least he found a wife by himself, without the eldest brother and sister-in-law worrying.

”Alright, where should we go for dinner tonight?”

”Let’s have roast duck, elder brother.” Yesterday, he took his wife to eat hotpot, so today it’s roast duck.

”Alright, go ahead and reserve a room.”

”Okay, I won’t wait for my sister-in-law then.”

Su Yuanyuan was having a meeting, which wouldn’t end for another hour.

Tan Shaoting waved his hand, meaning for him to leave quickly, not wanting to see that expression anymore.

Hu Zi went straight to reserve a private room, then returned to the dormitory to change clothes and wash up.

Zhang Chunsheng found his expression to be too much as well.

Once he was all set, he went to the hotel to find Feng Shanshan.

Sitting on a chair at the hotel, ”Why don’t you move in today? You have your own luggage, and I can bring you a set of bedding.”

Feng Shanshan checked the time, ”Let’s not. I’ll just stay here today and move tomorrow. I want to buy a coir mattress tomorrow first.”

Hu Zi didn’t insist, as they were not officially engaged yet, and it would be fine to move in after getting their marriage certificate tomorrow.

”Have you packed your things?”

”Yes, I haven’t touched my stuff yet.”

Seeing they still had time, Hu Zi said, ”It’s boring to just sit here. Why don’t we go to the department store and buy a bicycle and sewing machine, and a radio.

Oh, and I’ll get you a watch too; without one, it’s really inconvenient.”

Feng Shanshan had gotten used to not having a watch. Initially, it was really inconvenient, but a few years in, what was truly inconvenient anymore?

”Alright, I’ll buy the watch myself.”

”Why keep everything so separate? Come on, everything that’s mine is yours now.”

Feng Shanshan looked at Hu Zi, ”You won’t mind me spending money, will you?” After all, she still had to study, and that wouldn’t earn money.

”How could I! You’re my wife, spending the money I earn for you is normal, isn’t it?”

”Alright, I won’t spend it recklessly.”

”My sister-in-law said that only by spending money can one make money.”

The two went to the department store, where Hu Zi found Liu Changlin.

Everything they needed was there, but time was short, so they decided to buy the watch and radio first.

Liu Changlin introduced an imported watch.

Feng Shanshan really liked it. But the price was high. This watch actually cost 580 yuan, but Hu Zi bought it anyway.

Liu Changlin also introduced them to a radio, and although the two of them didn’t understand it, the fact that it was introduced by the department store’s manager indicated it was a good choice.

”Director Liu, we’ll come by tomorrow to pick up the sewing machine and bicycle.”

”I’ll set them aside for you, if you choose them now, you can just have them delivered tomorrow when you come by.”

Hu Zi checked the time, ”Okay.” There were more meetings for his sister-in-law today, so she would probably be late.

So they just listened to the introductions and made their decisions. They bought two bicycles, one of each style for men and women.

The rest of the items would be bought tomorrow.

The two drove directly to the roast duck restaurant. Hu Zi knew they’d arrive early, so he asked for some peanuts and sunflower seeds for Feng Shanshan to eat.

After Su Yuanyuan’s meeting was over, Tan Shaoting helped out.

”Hu Zi and Feng Shanshan are having dinner together tonight, at the roast duck restaurant.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded with a smile and drank the Spiritual Spring Water handed by Tan Shaoting.

”Alright, I won’t attend the last meeting; He Yuanhao will be there.”

He was now the main force here.

”Then go and lie down for a while to ease your back pain.”

Although Su Yuanyuan wasn’t attending, Qian Zhifeng had to, so Ning Huaiyuan went to notify He Yuanhao.

The two left work on time. Chengzi drove, as he was quite curious about Hu Zi’s wife.

Knowing that the big leader was coming, the local manager waited outside the whole time.

The couple was still in coats and hats, and although they weren’t celebrities, their looks certainly attracted attention.

Upon entering the private room, Chengzi saw Hu Zi peeling peanuts for the woman.

Chengzi felt he couldn’t bear to watch. He hadn’t expected that besides the elder brother, Hu Zi would also be so attentive to his wife. He didn’t expect it to be this woman.

Feng Shanshan knew the three of them, and she stood up with a smile to greet Su Yuanyuan.

Su Yuanyuan also smiled warmly, ”Very nice, the two of you being together is serendipity.”

”Yes, I hadn’t expected us to end up together either.”

Tan Shaoting helped his wife sit down. At this point, the manager came in, and after clarifying with them, the dishes started being served.

The two women sat together, ”Su Yuanyuan, I consider you a friend, so I thought I’d let you know that I’m getting the marriage certificate tomorrow.”

”Congratulations, Feng Shanshan. I assure you, you won’t regret marrying Hu Zi. You two will definitely have a wonderful life together.”

Feng Shanshan nodded with a smile, ”I know.” You could see what kind of person Hu Zi was just from today.
