Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 982: Chapter 982: Double Duty

All three of them looked at Su Yuanyuan; in fact, they all knew in their hearts that she was a plain person who truly didn’t care about fame and fortune.

If it had been someone else, they would have jumped at the chance. But as for her, she had to be persuaded to take it.

”Since it’s come to this, I’ll wait. However, if it really gets approved, I need to choose my own secretary.”

”Alright, alright, not a problem at all.”

Xu Guozhi and Lu Chengmin were pleased with this.

Chengzi heard the whole thing. Watching his sister-in-law walk ahead, he truly admired her. Back then, the boss said he wasn’t as good as her, and they didn’t believe it.

After more interaction, they realized the boss was truly right.

Su Yuanyuan didn’t have much resistance in her heart, mainly because the reason she was restricted everywhere was due to poverty.

If she could rise in her past life, then especially now, having money in her pocket would allow her to speak and act with confidence.

Now, there are already many wealthy representatives, which is good. To rise up, it still requires the combined efforts of these people.

At the mid-April representative assembly, she was unanimously approved, not because Su Yuanyuan was popular but because it was proposed by Xu Guozhi.

Su Yuanyuan understood this, so now she held two positions.

Qin Zhiyuan brought over twenty people to provide Su Yuanyuan with a financial secretary.

He sighed inwardly, it was so fast and she was so capable. He somewhat guessed the intentions of these big figures, knowing Su Yuanyuan had no ambitions, so she was easy to handle.

Now, Qian Zhifeng is the chief secretary. Su Yuanyuan had already decided that besides Qian Zhifeng as the chief, two more chief secretaries would be selected, and Ning Huaiyuan would be in charge of external relations.

Looking at these twenty people, Su Yuanyuan glanced at Qin Zhiyuan.

”Minister Su, I’ve brought the people.”

Su Yuanyuan found it amusing; Secretary Qin truly understood. Ten female secretaries, ten male secretaries, all expressing their aspirations, all trained by finance, and even a few university graduates. Quite remarkable.

She took the twenty resumes, quickly skimmed through them, and selected ten.

Then she read out these ten names, two of them felt very aggrieved, thinking they were eliminated, which wasn’t the case. Two others were too arrogant, certain they would be chosen, and the remaining six had better mindsets.

”The ten people I mentioned stay, the rest keep working hard.”

Su Yuanyuan observed this group of people. Some had truly excellent mindsets; she’d observe them more in the future.

Now four were left, and Su Yuanyuan called their names.

Their mindsets were still lacking, so these four were also eliminated.

The two very confident people looked at Su Yuanyuan in shock; how could they be eliminated? In every aspect, they were excellent, and their families had already contacted top leaders, thinking it was a sure thing.

Though they were arrogant, they weren’t fools. In this situation, there was nothing they could say.

With six remaining, Su Yuanyuan looked intently at them. ”I only need four secretaries, one chief, one deputy chief, and two assistant secretaries. So two of you will still be eliminated.”

After confirming once more, she left four young people. Saying they were young was misleading; the youngest was already twenty-eight.

”Alright, I’ll start the roll call. Chief Secretary is Yao Wenbin.

Deputy Chief is Li Yingkai, Assistant Secretaries are Zhu Aiyin and Lin Hanqing.”

The two remaining politely bowed and left.

”Now only the four of you remain; you have a three-month probation period. I want to see your capabilities. Here with me, there are no connections; I only value competence. All secretarial duties fall under Qian Zhifeng, Secretary Qian’s responsibility.

Even as Chief, you have to follow Secretary Qian’s arrangements.

Alright, for any uncertainties, consult Secretary Qian directly, and also approach him for work arrangements.”

The four respectfully left. The office was now only Chengzi, Qin Zhiyuan, and the others.

”Curious about those two connections, aren’t you?”

”Yes?” Qin Zhiyuan smiled and said.

”I don’t like people who think they know everything; I only want those who are obedient by my side. I don’t need anyone to tell me what to do.”

”Haha, that’s truly Minister Su. I understand now; rest assured, Leader Zeng didn’t say anything and left everything to your discretion.”

”Secretary Qin, thank you.”

”Minister Su, you’re too kind; it’s my job.”

The next day, Su Yuanyuan’s office changed; one side for the outreach bookshelf and desk, the other for finance.

Chengzi entered and laughed, ”Sister-in-law, is your office the only one like this?”

”What can I do? How is your study going?”

”Me? I’m not good. I’ll just handle your security.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, Chengzi had his choices. In the future, she’d think of plans for him.

Every meeting was led by Su Yuanyuan; the timing depended on Minister Su’s availability.

Qian Zhifeng was extremely busy, perhaps too busy, but he was delighted, thinking this was how he could demonstrate his worth.

When Su Yuanyuan reached finance, she directly let Lin Hanqing be responsible for contacting wealthy individuals from various regions, starting true collaborations now. Su Yuanyuan made it very clear; in the end, they wouldn’t end up with nothing.

With such assurances from leadership, they felt free to proceed. However, this left opposing factions very dissatisfied.

They filed complaints and opposed in meetings. Yet, regardless, Su Yuanyuan simply ignored them; now nothing would deter her, since before taking office she had made it clear if she were to be in charge, it would be on her terms.

It was already May. The weather was now very pleasant. Five people had lunch at noon, with Zheng Wenqiang from finance joining; previously, it was Su Yuanyuan who wasn’t willing, but now he was also a direct superior.

”Xiao Su, do you see how many complaints about you I have here?”

”Let them be, they’re just idle. I’ve made myself very clear, the nature of things won’t change; if they don’t understand, let them create chaos.

This is public; if anyone dares to act privately, I’ll ensure they can’t rise again.”

Despite the soft-spoken words, the four understood she was utterly serious.

”Alright, I’ll also keep them in check.” Zheng Wenqiang was rather helpless; this young female colleague was truly not part of the crowd, but her competencies were evident, and she explained every project approved to him. However, when others asked, bluntly put, she treated it like nonsense.

”Everyone, I wish to take leave in August; the duration is indefinite, but it won’t exceed a month.”

Zeng Zhenqing nodded, ”Going again?”

”Yes, definitely going. This is my last stubbornness.”
