My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 293: Chapter 153: Third Realm

’If it weren’t for the series of epiphanies that followed, allowing me to comprehend the Mortal Martial Canon... Chen Shanhe would have been a mountain so high that just looking at him would have made me despair!’

’This...’

Qin Fang finally realized something.

’Maybe I’m... not as weak as I thought.’

’And these young prodigies from other commanderies, or even the Prefecture City... they aren’t as strong as I imagined, either?’

’...At least, not within the limited scope of the Martial Arts Examination?’

Qin Fang realized that he might have... underestimated his epiphanies.

As he was spacing out a little, he suddenly noticed that even without paying special attention, Geng Ye’s attacks held no secrets from him.

’I’m not even deliberately trying to ’read’ his techniques.’

’But it’s as if I just know what he’s going to do next.’

’...It seems I’ve gotten even stronger than when I fought Chen Shanhe?’

’...When did that happen?’

While Qin Fang was lost in thought, Geng Ye’s face was growing paler and paler.

’I can’t hit him, I can’t hit him!’

’I can’t hit him at all!’

Even with his Huajin Physique, he was already starting to pant. He attacked relentlessly, a veritable storm of blows, but his opponent was like untouchable air. Despite his terrifying offense, he hadn’t even managed to touch the corner of Qin Fang’s clothes!

’Even when I’m sparring with the Young Master, I’ve never felt this suffocated!’

’Yes!’

’Frustration!’

’Unbearable frustration!!!’

”Do you even dare to take one of my attacks head-on?!”

Having spent ages punching nothing but air, Geng Ye couldn’t take it anymore and roared through clenched teeth.

Snapping out of his contemplation, Qin Fang raised an eyebrow and then smiled. ”Alright.”

The next moment, a palm strike flew toward him. Qin Fang sidestepped and once again dodged with ease.

Geng Ye was furious, but in the next instant, a slap appeared out of nowhere and landed on his chest.

BAM!

A huge force surged through him, and Geng Ye was sent flying!

THUD!!

He landed hard.

He tried to speak, but a piercing pain shot through his chest. His face went ghastly pale as he clutched his chest, unable to get up for a moment.

Looking up, he saw Qin Fang slowly retracting his hand.

”I thought you wanted to exchange palm strikes... I didn’t think you’d be too slow to react.”

Qin Fang’s voice sounded almost helpless.

The words stung Geng Ye so much he nearly coughed up blood.

’This is just bullying!’

But after his pale face shifted through several expressions, he subconsciously turned to look at the edge of the arena.

The youth at the edge of the arena was already looking gloomy, staring intently at the stage.

Geng Ye pursed his lips, about to stand up again.

”Is that the one who sent you?”

A voice suddenly sounded in his ear. He flinched and quickly turned his head, only to find that Qin Fang had appeared behind him at some point. He was following Geng Ye’s gaze to the Young Master.

Geng Ye’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly said in a low voice, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about...”

”It’s no use. When you looked at him, your panicked heartbeat sped up just a bit... Don’t you know a liar’s racing heart can’t be hidden from a Huajin Martial Artist?”

Qin Fang asked with a smile.

Geng Ye’s heart pounded even harder. His face twitched, but he was speechless.

”Alright, I’ve already held back. You should know you’re no match for me. If we keep going, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to pull my punches.”

Qin Fang patted the shoulder of Geng Ye, who was still trying to get up. His words made Geng Ye’s entire body freeze.

Qin Fang looked at the Soldiers on the high platform. ”Does this count as my win?”

The Soldiers looked at each other. According to the rules, a victory was only declared when an opponent was knocked off the stage or surrendered.

Right now, his opponent was still on the stage and hadn’t surrendered. This...

They subconsciously looked toward Geng Ye.

Geng Ye gritted his teeth. ”I haven’t...”

Before he could finish, the world spun around him, and with a THUMP...

Putting the physical pain aside for a moment, Geng Ye was a little dazed.

He looked around... and found himself outside the ropes!

”You!”

He glared at Qin Fang angrily.

But Qin Fang didn’t even spare him a glance. ”How about now?”

The Soldiers exchanged glances again, and one of them loudly announced, ”Contestant C-27, Geng Ye, is defeated! The winner is Contestant C-3, Qin Fang!”

As soon as the announcement was made, the crowd erupted...

”Holy crap, it’s over already?”

”...I thought that Geng Ye guy was stronger, he was pressing the attack on Qin Fang the whole time... I can’t believe it only took a single move from Qin Fang to defeat him in an instant.”

”Just how strong is this Qin Fang?”

Everyone started buzzing with discussion.

Although they were all Anjin Martial Artists, they were clearly amateurs when it came to a Huajin Level fight. They could only watch the spectacle...

...and in the fight just now, Geng Ye had undoubtedly been the more ’spectacular’ one.

But in the end, Qin Fang was the one who won, which naturally sent them all abuzz.

Only a few who had reached the Peak of Anjin had extremely solemn expressions...

”This Qin Fang... is even stronger than we imagined! I don’t fully understand it, but I can still see... Geng Ye’s attacks didn’t bother him at all.”

Brother Shen said in a low voice.

”Yeah, how can anyone dodge an attack like that?”

Wang Qi and the others were shocked.

Huang Shun’s face showed his shock even more clearly. He then let out a long breath...

’Ever since I surrendered to Qin Fang, I’ve been ridiculed quite a bit.’

’Now that even a Huajin Martial Artist has been defeated by Qin Fang, let’s see who dares to taunt me now!’

’...He really is incredible.’

He was thankful he had surrendered so quickly last time.

”Qin Fang, this is your compensation silver, one thousand taels. Here...”

Geng Ye’s compensation silver was placed in Qin Fang’s hands. Qin Fang opened it and took a look—it was a single Silver Note with a denomination of one thousand!

’This is the first time I’ve ever seen so much money...’

”Thanks,” Qin Fang said to Geng Ye with a smile.

Geng Ye’s face was dark. He said nothing, stepped off the stage, and left.

Qin Fang turned his head and looked into the distance where Geng Ye had been staring. The youth had already turned and walked away.

”Brother Qin, that was amazing!”

Qian Ruhai’s amazed voice rang out.

Qin Fang turned to see him and Lin Chen walking over.

And Lin Chen, who had previously been cold and indifferent toward him, was now looking at him with obvious apprehension and shock.

”Just luck.”

Qin Fang said with a smile, then suddenly asked Qian Ruhai, ”Brother Qian, you’re well-informed... Do you know who that person standing over there earlier was?”

He pointed in the general direction.

Even though the person had already left.

He believed that Qian Ruhai must have seen him earlier.

And just as expected, Qian Ruhai laughed. ”It seems Brother Qin has already figured it out? It’s a long story. Why don’t we go to the Tingyu Pavilion for a chat?”

Qin Fang raised an eyebrow, then broke into a smile. ”Alright.”

The three of them decided to head to the Tingyu Pavilion together.

(Yesterday’s update was a bit of a filler, my apologies. I’ll pay more attention to that going forward. Time to get back into the rhythm!~ Today’s update is done. It wasn’t too much filler, was it? Hmm, I’ll continue tomorrow!~)
