My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 171: Chapter 114: Surge

This time, his luck bee-fishing was much better than the last.

Two Giant Bees charged out and latched onto the bait.

After the last two times, Qin Fang was now quite skilled. He immediately hoisted the bait, and just as he expected, no more Giant Bees flew out of the cave...

Still, he couldn’t get careless, even with just two. To be safe, he returned to the platform where he had shot the Giant Bee before. He killed both bees, jumped down to tie them up, and then hauled them back up.

...Although it was one less than last time, Qin Fang had made other significant gains today and didn’t plan to continue. He packed up and left.

The Bee Meat had a shelf life, after all. The last time he’d gotten three bees, the meat from the last one had been a bit off by the final two days.

After all, it was now June, and the weather was growing hotter. It was no longer as cold as when he’d caught the first bee, so the meat couldn’t be preserved for long.

Two bees at a time would last him about two or three days.

...Now that his Qi Blood Pills were completely gone, the Bee Meat had become his only resource.

Of course, it wasn’t that he couldn’t buy more.

It was just that the more clues Qin Fang uncovered, the stranger the situation became, making it difficult for him to see things clearly. Before, he could use Qi Blood Pills from Huichun Hall without worry.

But now, he had to wonder... ’What if Huichun Hall, or other pharmacies, have also been taken over by that mysterious organization? What if they start selling the same tainted products as Ganlu Hall?’

...Qin Fang had no desire for his body to suddenly explode one day, birthing some freakish, disgusting monster!

So, for his own safety.

He decided not to take any more Qi Blood Pills.

At least...

...not until this whole mess was completely resolved.

It wasn’t just Qi Blood Pills... He wouldn’t take Five Qi Pills anymore either.

He was about to run out of Five Qi Pills, but he had no intention of contacting his Master for more.

...However, the heat should have died down by now. ’Those people probably haven’t found me,’ he thought. ’Maybe it’s time I made a trip back to True Martial to check in with Senior Brother.’

He hadn’t contacted his Senior Brother or gone to True Martial County all this time because he’d been trying to confirm whether he had truly escaped the mysterious organization’s watch.

It seemed things were all right for now; the mysterious organization hadn’t come after him.

...The only thing was the bounty from Ganlu Hall.

However, only members of the Fish Dragon Gang had seen him. As for his and Zhou Xing’s true identities, only Xu Meng and Monkey knew.

Xu Meng was already dead, and Monkey was in True Martial County Town... The mysterious organization probably wouldn’t focus its attention on a mere underling.

Here in Wanshui, he was living incognito... Jiang Xin’s arrangements had allowed him to blend into Wanshui City seamlessly, without attracting any attention.

It would indeed be very difficult to find him.

’Since that’s the case, it’s probably safe to get back in touch...’

’There’s a lot I need to tell Senior Brother.’

With these thoughts in mind, he headed for Wanshui. Along the way, he stopped to process the bees...

He hadn’t processed them at Old Ox Back for fear of attracting the attention of other Giant Bees... After all, he was about to butcher their kin. Who knew if that would trigger some kind of chain reaction?

And the reason he wasn’t doing it in Wanshui was because the Giant Bees were too unique; he didn’t want anyone to know they existed.

That made processing them out here in the desolate wilderness the most convenient option.

This was his third time, so he was already quite practiced... Soon, Qin Fang had another two or three catties of Bee Meat, two Poisonous Thorns, and two pieces of bee hide.

He buried the Giant Bee carcasses as usual and then returned to Wanshui.

The moment he returned, he saw Xile let out a bark and start circling him excitedly, its eyes gleaming.

Seeing its gleaming eyes and the drool practically pouring from its mouth, Qin Fang chuckled softly. ’He must have smelled it, huh?’

Wanting to see the effect the Bee Meat had on Xile, Qin Fang had been feeding him quite a bit of it lately.

The changes in Xile were significant.

He had originally been just an ordinary yellow mutt from a farm.

Now, while he was still yellow, his body was nimble—not too thin, not too fat. His eyes were bright and full of spirit, and he was utterly adorable when he tried to act cute...

You could even describe him as ’a very handsome dog.’

It was no wonder Xiao Jiu couldn’t take her eyes off him and always wanted to play with him.

More importantly, he had grown another size, going from just over twenty centimeters long to fifty centimeters now, which was about the size of a full-grown dog.

He was also very heavy... which suggested his bones and overall structure were likely much stronger than an ordinary dog’s.

He was also becoming more and more perceptive, able to understand most of what Qin Fang said.

Sometimes, when Qin Fang felt too lazy to get up, he would even have Xile do small chores... For instance, if he ran out of firewood while cooking, he’d just call out, ”Xile, bring me a piece of wood,” and the dog would immediately scamper over and fetch one for him...

The changes were truly immense.

His fur was still yellow, but now it never shed. His entire coat was glossy and smooth, with each hair distinct. It felt like stroking high-grade silk...

And come to think of it, Qin Fang had never once given him a bath, yet he always seemed to be perfectly clean.

Even after being drenched in the rain with Qin Fang all night, he had been spotless the very next day.

...It was simply miraculous!

Seeing him run over, Qin Fang wasn’t stingy. After putting his things away, he took out a porcelain jar, picked out a piece of fresh Bee Meat, and tossed it to him.

Xile leaped and caught it mid-air, then flopped onto the ground to chew. He swallowed it in two quick bites and looked back at Qin Fang, his eyes shining brightly.

”Alright, how much more do you want? I don’t have any more for you. Go on, go on, go play by yourself.”

Qin Fang said with a smile, waving his hand.
