My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 155: Chapter 108: Lodging for the Night

But then he grew worried again.

’This Overseas Dragon is a fugitive... I don’t know what his character is like. Will he really keep his promise?’

’What if he kills me right before he leaves... I’d die for nothing!’

Qin Fang saw his worry and said calmly, ”I’m not a bloodthirsty man. As long as Gang Leader Jiang doesn’t cause trouble for me, I won’t go back on my word.”

With things having reached this point, Jiang Xin couldn’t say anything more. He took a deep breath. ”Fine, I believe you, sir... So, now?”

”I’ll have to trouble Gang Leader Jiang to find me a place to sleep first... Thank you.”

Qin Fang was very polite.

Jiang Xin was speechless.

”If you don’t mind, sir, why don’t you stay here at my house?”

Jiang Xin said, resigned.

Qin Fang nodded. ”That would be for the best.”

Jiang Xin thought, ’You son of a bitch, this was your plan all along, wasn’t it?’

His face twitched, but he still said, ”Please, follow me.”

He stood up, a piercing pain still emanating from his stomach, though at least he could breathe properly now. Grimacing, he put on his clothes, then led Qin Fang out of the room and to a side room.

”It’s a bit rustic and the accommodations are simple. I hope you don’t mind, sir,” Jiang Xin said.

Qin Fang glanced around the side room... He’d actually seen it before entering the master bedroom, and it wasn’t bad.

He nodded. ”Thank you, Gang Leader Jiang.”

”It’s no trouble... Are there any other instructions, sir?”

”No, that’s all. Thank you. Gang Leader Jiang, you should get some rest.”

’If you hadn’t shown up, I’d have been resting this whole fucking time!!’

”Well then, I won’t disturb you any longer, sir.”

After speaking, Jiang Xin cupped his fists again, turned, and left the room.

Qin Fang listened to the sounds outside. It seemed Jiang Xin had returned to his own room.

Qin Fang let out a soft breath. He glanced at Xile by his feet, then took off his straw raincoat, revealing the soaked clothes underneath.

He frowned. His clothes were stained with a large amount of blood... He hadn’t had a chance to change today.

Some of it was even the monster’s blood.

He obviously couldn’t rest in these clothes, so he had no choice but to take them all off.

Just as he was about to take off his pants, his gaze swept to the door.

A knock came at the door.

”Sir.”

It was Jiang Xin’s voice.

Qin Fang paused. ”Come in.”

The door opened, and Jiang Xin stood in the doorway, holding a few pieces of clean clothing.

When he saw Qin Fang in the room, clothes off and body stained with a good deal of blood, he was startled.

But he quickly looked away, pretending not to have seen anything. ”It looked like you were caught in the rain, sir, so your clothes must be soaked... I have some clean clothes here, if you don’t mind...”

Qin Fang raised an eyebrow, then said slowly, ”In that case... thank you, Gang Leader Jiang.”

”It’s nothing... I only hope you will keep your promise, sir.” After saying this, he left the clothes and departed.

Only then did Qin Fang finish taking off all his clothes. He saw a clean towel placed on top of the pile of garments, and a flicker of light crossed his eyes.

’...This Jiang Xin seems to be a man who is rough on the outside but thoughtful on the inside.’

’I hope he’s truly smart enough not to make things difficult for me...’

Qin Fang sighed and wiped himself down with the towel.

But when he wiped his waist, he frowned slightly... His ribs were dislocated, and the skin over them was completely red.

He thought for a moment, then sat on the bed.

According to the description in the Inner Cultivation Method, once one reached the level of Anjin, the body could heal some of its own injuries.

Especially fractures.

He closed his eyes and used his Anjin to feel inside his body. Slowly but surely, he located his ribs.

By channeling his Anjin, he immediately sensed that three of the bones were slightly dislocated.

Gritting his teeth, he began to try and use his Anjin to push the bones back into place.

Immediately, waves of stabbing pain shot from his ribs.

But Qin Fang didn’t even frown, forcibly enduring it.

His Anjin surged inward. Slowly, using his own muscles, he actually managed to push the dislocated ribs back into place, one by one.

By the time he was done, Qin Fang’s forehead was beaded with sweat.

But at least he had succeeded.

He let out a long breath.

But then he frowned again...

’With an injury like this, I’m afraid I won’t be able to fight at full strength for a while.’

’...Good thing I didn’t rashly go to Old Ox Back.’

’In my current condition, even climbing the mountain would be a problem.’

’Let alone fighting the Giant Bee...’

’It would have been a wasted trip.’

He heaved a long sigh and finally put on the clean clothes.

A sharp pain shot through his ear again...

This made his brow furrow tightly.

’The injury to my eardrum...’

’I wonder if the ointment Master gave me will work for this?’

’But it probably will.’

’After all... it can heal skin injuries. Isn’t an eardrum also body tissue?’

He simply took the ointment out of his bundle, found a thin stick, dipped some on it, and placed it in his ear canal.

He carefully applied some, then took the stick out.

He waited to feel the effect...

A cooling sensation immediately covered up the pain.

’It should be working...’

Qin Fang thought, and then decided not to worry about it anymore.

He had fought a huge battle all day, and he was tired.

He listened to the outside with his right ear for a moment. It seemed Jiang Xin had also gone back to his room. He didn’t think about it anymore...

Xile was right by his bed. He’d only just discovered today that Xile seemed to have a naturally strong ability to sense danger. If something really happened, Xile would give him an early warning.

He petted Xile’s head and finally lay down on the bed.

’...By now, Senior Brother should have gotten the news, right?’

...

His Senior Brother had, of course, received the news. After reading Qin Fang’s letter, his expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly questioned Monkey about the specific details.

When he learned that Qin Fang was seriously injured, he became even more frantic.

He could barely resist setting off for Fishermen’s immediately.

But Qin Fang had repeatedly reminded him in the letter not to act rashly and especially not to go to Fishermen’s to find him... because he would also be leaving soon.

Monkey was also at his side, trying to dissuade him. ”Master Zhou, you just have to trust Master Qin. Master Qin would never do something recklessly if he wasn’t sure about it. He said he has some business in Fishermen’s, but he’ll be leaving right away. If you go now, you won’t find him... Once he’s settled, he’ll definitely find a way to contact you.”

Hearing Monkey’s words, Zhou Xing’s face was a mask of conflict. In the end, he could only grit his teeth and glare in a certain direction...

His mind was filled with the news Qin Fang had mentioned in his letter.

’The monster inside Wang Hu was related to people?’

’And... related to Ganlu Hall!’

’And then there was Yan Jun this time...’

’Those were all Dark Force Powerhouses from the gangs!’

’...Could it be that all those Dark Force Powerhouses... they all...?’

When he considered this possibility, even a man like Zhou Xing felt a chill run down his spine...

He too could feel the massive conspiracy Qin Fang had mentioned in his letter looming over them...

...

「Meanwhile」 At the Fisherman’s Outer Mountain Path, by the thatched cottage, some mysterious figures had arrived.

They wore black cloaks and stood in the rain.

Looking at the gruesome scene, they were all silent.

”What about the people from Ganlu Hall?”

After a long time, someone asked.

”I just went over to look. They’re all dead.”

”Did this person do it too?”

”Yes, all killed by Iron Nails... It should be the same person.”

The scene fell silent for a moment, then that person asked, ”Did you find out any useful intelligence?”

”Lin Yang died before he could report.”

”What about the Fish Dragon Gang?”

”The Gang Leader is already dead, killed by that person. The other small fry... almost all of them ran off. They must have gotten wind of it ahead of time.”

”Which means... that person has traced it back to Ganlu Hall?”

”...Probably.”

Another bout of silence.

”What do we do now?” someone asked.

”We speed things up,” someone answered.

...

「The next day.」

Qin Fang woke up and looked at the sky.

Today, a fine, continuous rain was still falling.

As he was staring blankly at the sky, a knock came from the door.

”Sir, are you awake?”

It was Jiang Xin’s voice.

Qin Fang looked toward the door.

”Come in,” he said.
