Chapter 476: Chapter 476: Human Nature

Curly-haired Guy: Damn it, are these so-called pure-blood families really that messed up?

Doujin Artist: They’re really messed up, they don’t have any moral bottom line that humans should have.

After Jellall sent snippets of the Pollard-Jera family abusing house-elves into the group, all the members became indignant.

Machete Girl: Slaves in slave societies probably went through the same thing. Slave owners could hit or kill them as they pleased.

Doujin Artist: Yeah, human cruelty and selfishness are passed down through generations.

This is an Actor: You can’t say that. Nature has two sides. Cruelty, greed, and selfishness are part of human nature, but sacrifice, dedication, and kindness are also part of it. You have to look at things completely, not just focus on one aspect.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: In the end, it’s just that this Manila didn’t choose the good side.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: I think most of these people who call themselves pure-bloods have abandoned their good side. If they were kind, why would they go around saying they’re superior to others?

Pretty Boy from Skull Island: For them, the theory of bloodline is probably a flag. They raise this flag high to gain control of the conversation in the magic world.

Lazy Kitten: Exactly! Similarly, there are other arguments like theories of population and region. They think living in a prosperous area makes them superior to others, they’re sophisticated and well-off. While those living in poorer areas are just peasants!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: There are so many people like that, it seems like they’re everywhere. Even among students in the Academy City, most of them look down on regular students from outside. They think that because they are ability users, they should be above everyone else.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: It’s not just that, there’s also the theory of profession. They think that having studied for a few years makes them noble and they look down on merchants and hawkers.

Shaking her head, Li Mochou let out a sigh. Even in the Southern Song Dynasty, people who had undergone ideological reform couldn’t completely get rid of this phenomenon.

It’s just that they’ve changed their methods compared to the past.

In the past, those who didn’t have education were considered lower class; now, those who haven’t learned these ideas are considered lower class. These two are essentially the same, just a change of flavor. It’s the mindset of feeling superior.

It’s hard, very hard, to completely change this way of thinking. At least Li Mochou hasn’t figured out a feasible method yet.

Thinking this, she walked into an alleyway, making several turns. Her gaze unconsciously glanced behind her, and a playful smile appeared on her lips. Her body flashed, disappearing from her spot as if she had teleported.

”Huh?” The little girl in the green robe, who had been quietly following her, was suddenly stunned, her face full of confusion. ”Where did she go? Where did she go?”

She ran quickly to the middle of the alley, looking around. But there wasn’t a single person, not even a mouse to be seen. ”How could... she just disappear like that?”

Could it be, could it be that she saw a ghost?

The more Qu Feiyan thought about it, the more scared she became. She even felt a chilling wind blowing from behind her. But when she turned around, she saw nothing.

Gulp.

Swallowing, Qu Feiyan had no choice but to brace herself and continue forward.

At this moment, she didn’t realize that a figure had quietly floated behind her. A pale hand silently reached out and touched her arm from behind. ”Who are you looking for?”

Crack.

Qu Feiyan froze as if petrified, her entire body stiffening. Mechanically, she turned her head, and what met her eyes was a terrifying ghost face with a green face and fangs.

”Ahhhhhhhh!” A high-pitched scream echoed through the entire alley.

Thump.

Looking at the little girl with her eyes rolled back and lying on her back, Li Mochou, who had taken off her mask, fell into deep thought.

Doujin Artist: By the way, how does Mr. Anzen plan to punish this Manila? Just get rid of her?

This is an Actor: That would be too boring.

Curly-haired Guy: Indeed, just killing her like that is not only uninteresting but also very boring. Since she did something so messed up, we should treat her in the same way!

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: I agree with this proposal, wholeheartedly! We should deal with this trash of a woman using her own methods. Let’s hang her up first and leave her a pair of stockings.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: As expected, Mr. Deadpool, you would say something like that. Should I say it’s not surprising?

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: What’s wrong, am I wrong, Uncle?

Soul Society’s Villain: What she did, she’s a beast, right? You agree with that, don’t you? If you do it her way, won’t you become a beast too?

Curly-haired Guy: No, no, no, this guy is a step above a beast. She also wants people naked, that’s worse than a beast!

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Bullshit, didn’t I say I’d leave her a pair of stockings?

Shark-Faced Guy: Then you’re truly merciful.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Mr. Anzen probably already has a plan, right?

This is an Actor: There’s nothing new, it’s the same old thing. A public trial, letting the victims decide the other party’s fate.

The screen in front of Jellall’s eyes changed again. The originally luxurious banquet hall had become dilapidated. Most of the so-called upper-class people in the magic world had fled far away, and the remaining ones were lying on the ground, unconscious.

Obviously, they had been attacked. And the attacker was a house-elf, whom they had treated as disposable. The Pollard-Jera couple, as the masters of the house, were now huddled in a corner, trembling as they watched the approaching culprits.

”How does revenge feel?” asked Ola, dressed in a suit and not looking like a house-elf at all.

”It’s not as exhilarating as I expected, sir.”

Lola also woke up from the manipulation, but it still retained its memories and experiences with its master. It didn’t feel flustered or scared, but instead, its eyes showed calmness and composure.

”It’s okay, this is just the beginning,” Ola said with a light laugh and snapped his fingers.

Visibly, a golden chain suddenly appeared, binding the Pollard-Jera couple tightly. At the same time, a black void suddenly swallowed the couple whole.

”We should go too, my fellow countrymen,” Ola said softly, holding Lola’s wrist.

”Go where?”

”Of course, to see our other compatriots. We are not alone.”
