Chapter 94 - 94: Ruiko: My Conscience is Too Thick, I Can’t Feel It

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: It really feels real. You can imagine just how hated Makoto Ito must be. This is probably the real wrath of heaven.

Doujin Artist: Too bad he died so early. Otherwise, I might’ve had the urge to kill him myself!

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Even though he’s dead, his body is still here. This evil spirit is clearly no good. Arisa-chan, you could try fulfilling your wish.

Doujin Artist: Isn’t that a bit much?

Eriri twitched at the corners of her mouth, cold sweat forming on her forehead. She had just been speaking off the cuff; she’d never even killed a chicken in her life. How could she kill someone?!

This is an Actor: What’s wrong with that? It’s about protecting the people.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Yeah. Arisa-chan, are you scared?

Doujin Artist: Cough, I’m just an ordinary high school girl.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: You can jump so high now, you could leap over ten meters. And you’re telling me you’re ordinary? Can you be more ridiculous?

Curly-haired Guy: Even Michael Jackson, the basketball player, would be stunned!

Doujin Artist: Pfft! When did Michael Jackson ever play basketball? You mean Michael Jordan, right? Can you stop embarrassing yourself?

Curly-haired Guy: Shut up, that’s not the point! The point is, you’re definitely not an ordinary high school girl anymore. What are you afraid of?

Doujin Artist: Even if my power is beyond what an ordinary high school girl would have, we live in a law-abiding society! Have you ever seen a law-abiding high school girl running around with a knife, killing people?

This is an Actor: There are plenty of such high school girls across the multiverse.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Right, Miss Kei is a perfect example.

Doujin Artist: Ah, well...

Eriri was instantly unable to argue.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: By the way, where’s Kotonoha?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Oh, she’s probably still thinking about Anzen-san’s true identity. No way, right? The hints have been so obvious already.

Chainsaw Girl: Ah, sorry. I’ve been thinking for a while. Uh, the group leader is Itachi-san, right?

Doujin Artist: ?

Curly-haired Guy: ?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Pfft.

Shark-Faced Guy: Can I ask, how did you come to this conclusion?

Chainsaw Girl: Because I feel like the group leader is as smart as Itachi-san and also very kind. Other people, like Jiraiya-san and Nagato-san, have some flaws in their personalities.

Doujin Artist: Uchiha Itachi being kind? When he killed his entire clan in the original story, there was nothing kind about it!

Chainsaw Girl: Well, didn’t he have his reasons?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: ”Having reasons” isn’t an excuse to whitewash things, Miss Kei. Do you think the souls of the Uchiha clan would forgive Itachi just because there was a reason?

Shark-Faced Guy: The Itachi we know now didn’t take that extreme path because Aizen-san’s appearance shifted the focus of the Konoha conflict.

Curly-haired Guy: So, Aizen really is the gentle one after all.

Chainsaw Girl: Aizen? He almost destroyed the entire Konohagakure village. Can that really be called gentle?

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Of course it can. Even though Konohagakure was almost destroyed, none of the civilians were harmed. That’s the result of Aizen intentionally leaving information for them.

Chainsaw Girl: But he’s still an ambitious person.

Doujin Artist: You’re wrong. For the ninja world to achieve true peace, it needs change. Aizen is just pushing that change forward ahead of everyone else.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Change always comes with bloodshed and sacrifice; that’s unavoidable. But he’s always kept that sacrifice to a minimum. That’s gentleness.

Chainsaw Girl: This... is just your speculation, right?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: No, we have proof.

Chainsaw Girl: ?

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Because Anzen-san is actually Aizen.

Chainsaw Girl: Huh? Huhh?!

Katsura Kotono stared wide-eyed, her face filled with shock. Clearly, this was the answer she never expected. Her instinct told her that someone as big as Aizen could never be on their side.

Doujin Artist: Wow, Kotono-chan is really shocked! Bet you didn’t see that coming, huh? Haha!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: What are you so proud of, Airi-chan? You forgot how you were at first, huh? You’re no different from Miss Katsura!

Doujin Artist: That’s different. Now seeing others shocked makes me really happy. It feels like justice is being served.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: That’s true.

Honestly, Saten Ruiko felt the same way.

Chainsaw Girl: Sorry, group leader. I... said those things earlier...

This is an Actor: It’s okay, Aizen really is an ambitious person who isn’t that gentle. You’re right about that.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: But Anzen-san is not the real Aizen. There’s a fundamental difference between them.

Doujin Artist: Of course, the real Aizen wouldn’t be a stay-at-home husband!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Is this jealousy coming from Airi-chan, the side chick?

Doujin Artist: Shut up, you’re the one with a harem!

Chainsaw Girl: So Anzen isn’t the real Aizen... I understand now!

Now, she really understood. Anzen’s memories from his past life were connected to Aizen from the world of Naruto. They were the same person.

Curly-haired Guy: Now that you understand, when a new person joins... you know what to do, right?

Chainsaw Girl: Just like today?

Doujin Artist: Exactly, you’re quick to catch on.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: You guys are still playing?

Doujin Artist: Of course! Don’t you think it’s fun, Mo Chou-chan? I think this could be a regular show for our group from now on.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: But if the next newcomer is as innocent as Miss Katsura, I might not be able to do it.

Doujin Artist: You wouldn’t feel bad at all. Just check your conscience and see if it hurts.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: It’s too thick, I can’t feel anything.

Doujin Artist: ?

Inori lowered her head, instinctively touching her own conscience. Thump, thump, thump—her heart was beating strongly and clearly.
