The Genius Evolution Store

”Wow? How many minutes has it been already?” The students were impressed by what they witnessed.

Auric had been dodging the balls for five minutes. The most important thing was that he moved before the balls were fired. His actions made it seem like he could predict the future.

”How is it going?” Principal Fernandes asked, taking a look at their progress.

The teacher reported, ”It’s going very well. I’ve been informed by the teachers in the arena that there are at least two students who have a very high chance of being selected.”

”Oh, really?” Principal Fernandes sounded amused. ”I guess Auric will be one of those two. Even if he fails all the other tests, I’m still going to recommend him because of his special identity. That guy is a silver-grade evolution master at that age... I’m sure the country will accept him as an evolution master. I just let him take the test because I want to see his other abilities.”

”That’s true, but Auric’s abilities are extraordinary. Please take a look at this number.”

”It has surpassed even the requirement for the next rank?” Principal Fernandes looked amused.

”Yes. And there is another student who manages to achieve the same thing.”

”Who?”

”Ellia Stroph Astler!”

”Ah, that child!” Principal Fernandes almost forgot about her. He had been so blinded by Auric’s brilliance that he forgot that before Auric came to this college, Ellia was their genius. ”What about other students?”

”There are a few students who manage to achieve 50% more than the requirement, but it’s nothing outstanding.”

”It’s already outstanding. The number has been bumped up quite high because the central committee wants to focus on the geniuses. In other words, they’re already above average even among geniuses.” Principal Fernandes smiled. ”For now, keep track of them.”

”Understood.” The teacher fell silent for a moment, but his curiosity got the better of him. ”By the way, Principal. I hope that you don’t take any offense at my question, but are you going to do anything to the dean of the Evolution Department?”

”Hmm? What’s going on?” Principal Fernandes tilted his head in confusion.

”Well, it might be because you were handling matters outside back then and Auric rarely came here, but do you remember the Phoenix and Dragon Society incident that involved Simon Kestus?”

”I know that.”

”The problem is... there was a matter in which the dean of the Evolution Department was pulling their support from Auric. After some investigation, it looked like he discussed it because of pressure from the outside, specifically the Phoenix and Dragon Society’s former president, Abel.”

”I... haven’t heard anything about that.” Principal Fernandes had only thought it involved Simon and the Lightning Emperor. He thought it was nothing more than that. As the teacher said, Principal Fernandes had a good relationship with Auric, and he hadn’t heard of any complaint from him.

Besides, Auric was brilliant outside the school, so there was nothing to look into. In addition, Maya, who normally made a fuss, didn’t say anything.

So, he thought nothing had gone wrong.

Principal Fernandes facepalmed. ”No one had reported this to me. And why the hell did he withdraw his support for Auric?”

Principal Fernandes had already heard about the incidents involving Auric. Even Kallarnos University had been brought to its knees.

If Auric made a fuss about it, their Grand Magica College would definitely take a big hit.

Maya loved to cause trouble, so her student was the same. If they decided to make trouble about this, he couldn’t help but imagine the headache.

Little did he know, Auric and Maya had simply forgotten about it. After so many things had happened in the past few months, Auric and Maya had more important things that required their attention.

Principal Fernandes had heard about how Auric had been treated at his former high school. He didn’t want his Grand Magica College to experience the same thing.

”I’m going to handle it after this. Monitor the situation for the time being. And thanks for telling me that.”

”I feel like I’m a snitch...” The teacher smiled wryly. He was curious at first, but he thought it was fine to ask since others already knew about it. It turned out Principal Fernandes wasn’t aware of it, so the teacher felt a bit bad.

Then again, it was for the sake of the campus. He just let out a sigh.

Principal Fernandes raised his head. ”It looks like he’s done.”

12 minutes and 17 seconds.

This was Auric’s record. It was already amazing for someone to last even a minute, but Auric actually managed to last this long.

However, Ellia was even more impressive.

Ellia’s battle sense worked extremely well in this test. In addition, she had things that Auric didn’t have.

Her body was flexible, her reaction speed was faster, and her experience was greater. She combined all that to gain a huge advantage and surpassed the record Auric held.

17 minutes and 57 seconds.

People already knew Ellia was a great genius, but they never thought the gap would be this vast.

She had been suppressed all this time, but she managed to gain artifacts that let her reach rank 3. Her performance had shone so brightly that other students could only look away in shame.

Auric didn’t intend to compete with Ellia, but in a way, Ellia had already won in two tests if they were really competing.

However, Auric didn’t intend to compete with her, even though he didn’t want to hold back too much either.

So, when he took the Overall Combat Test, Auric actually used his Edict.

Lightning Stream.

A beam made of wind and lightning flew from his Edict and hit the machine. The wind exploded, adding even more power to the lightning.

The Overall Combat Test was supposed to be ten times than the Strength Test or the Magic Test. Auric only needed 20,000 points. But that number was divided into three sections, so he only needed to score about six thousand in each one.

Everyone couldn’t help but stare in shock when they saw Auric’s score.

21,760 points.

”What the fuck?!”

”Did he just clear the requirement with just a single test?”

”Is the gap between us this big?”

”Who cares? He has brought a lot of things back. Besides, his fare for the evolution is fair, unlike that predatory pricing by some of the clowns in the town. Thanks to him, we don’t have to deal with those annoying people anymore.”

The students couldn’t exactly hate Auric. It was true that Auric might not spend a lot of time with them, but Auric had done a lot of things for the academy. He had brought resources, glory, and even fair service.

Besides, their girlfriends might get angry with them if they hated Auric.

Auric had been building a good reputation in the city, and it had paid off.

Auric activated another Edict, this time with his earth and plant elements.

The device shot at his wall and showed a similar number.

20,605 points.

All of them were expecting Auric to actually score another twenty thousand points, which allowed him to pass the requirement for the next rank.

Little did they know, Auric had held back quite a lot in this test. If he used even more energy and used his Edict to create ten words or more, the power would increase further.

Ellia had already seen that power. She expected that Auric could at least get close to a hundred thousand points for each category.

After all, his full power was similar to the power of Katarina’s Meteor before she advanced to Rank 4. At that time, Gloria was shocked because Katarina’s power was similar to that of a Rank 4 human.

That was why Ellia knew Auric had held back a lot.

Still, Auric’s specialty was not in his offensive or defensive abilities. It was in his stability.

Even the machine didn’t give the score immediately when it had shown other students’ scores the instant the test ended. It was as if the machine had taken time to calculate.

And the number he got was definitely beyond anyone’s expectation.

185,049 points.

Even the principal widened his eyes in shock. ”How in the world did a student get that kind of score?”

”A Rank 4 student only needed a total of 100,000 points to pass, but since it was divided into three sections, they only needed about 33,333 points.” The teacher next to him sucked in a cold breath. ”Yet, he actually got such a high score? Was the machine wrong?”

”Holy shit!” The students couldn’t contain themselves.

”What a fucking monster!”

”Auric, there is a cockroach in your home. Your mother needs you. Please go back home and not embarrass us further!”

Their reactions varied, but most of them couldn’t help but admire him. This was definitely a score that wouldn’t be broken for decades or even centuries.

To be able to become a good evolution master, he required stable power. In addition, Auric’s eyes could see those particles.

But even Auric couldn’t achieve this level if he hadn’t evolved his eyes.

Earlier, Auric unleashed his power, and the device sent out its energy to distract him. Auric’s score would depend on how stable his energy was after receiving that disruption.

Auric, on the other hand, could see the energy in his surroundings. He only used his lightning element this time, but when he released his energy, he actually expelled the other elements contained within it.

Yes, the element that was supposed to linger in the air was expelled from his energy, making the space around him completely filled with the lightning element.

The device sent forth its energy to disrupt his energy, but he could see that the energy from the device was basically trying to connect to the other elements around him.

Now that he had expelled even the tiniest particles, there was nothing left to shake him anymore.

Of course, Auric still received external disruption from the machine, but he resisted it by following the flow of energy.

In the end, he got such a high score.

’Well, I might have overdone it a little.’ Auric thought. ’Well, this is a kind of way of sending a message about my level of skill as an evolution master. I guess it’s fine.’

In total, Auric scored 227,414 points on the Overall Combat Test. It was more than double the requirement, even for a Rank 4 student.

Ellia had done her best, but Auric’s stability score simply dwarfed every other score.

In the end, Ellia received 65,405 points, 30,586 points, and 50,605 points for the Offensive Ability Test, Defensive Ability Test, and Stability Test, respectively. In total, she still scored lower than Auric with 146,596 points.

Even then, it was already an amazing score. Auric’s stability test was simply too absurd.

Ellia knew that it was impossible to compete with Auric in the last test. She wasn’t good at it, but she could perform some basic first aid.

She showed it by straightening out two entangled strands of energy, each strand representing one element.

In the end, this was the only test she actually failed, but with her other scores, she was a very strong contender to be chosen for the national selection.

On the other hand, Auric put on yet another spectacle.

Everyone already knew Auric was a good evolution master. He was so good that even the Supreme Chief of the Evolution Association recognized his skill.

Still, Auric did something absurd in the last test. People expected that Auric could easily straighten seven out of nine strands.

Even though it was surprising, they still expected that Auric could somehow straighten all nine strands.

What they didn’t expect was that Auric only needed to place his hand in the sphere that contained all those entangled strands for one second for all the strands to straighten.

Yes, not only did he solve all of them, but he also did it in an instant.

Principal Fernandes was completely speechless. ”I told the students earlier that no one could be good at everything. I’m starting to regret my words right now.”
