The Genius Evolution Store

Auric and the group continued reducing their numbers, while trying to deplete the beasts’ strength. It was especially true of the snake, which had been severely injured by Katarina’s first Meteor.

As they reached the fourth position, there were only two rank 4 beasts and fifteen lower-rank beasts remaining.

Seeing the current situation, Auric couldn’t help but smile. This could be the final stand before they killed the two rank 4 beasts.

”Eric, Vera. How are your conditions?” Auric asked.

”We’re good,” answered Vera without hesitation.

Considering they were constantly running and fighting, their stamina and magical energy should have been depleted significantly.

The same applied to the beasts. They were quite exhausted, especially the snake. After all, before it fought Auric’s group, it had also fought the previous group before devouring them.

Auric glanced back and gave an order. ”Get ready. This will be the last. Hunt down the weaker beasts first. We will then kill the rank 4 beasts.”

”!!!” Vera and Eric were surprised. They were too far ahead to know the current situation, but the fact that Auric was confident that he could take those two beasts down meant they had managed to weaken them significantly.

As soon as he reached his position, Auric immediately turned around and shouted, ”NOW!”

Katarina released the last Meteor she had conjured. ”Go!”

The Meteor blasted the beasts, killing half of them. Then, Katarina rushed toward the ape.

Eric and Vera had been waiting for this moment. They immediately circled around first to make sure there were no beasts in the area before they approached the rank 4 beasts.

*Roar!*

The ape was furious, wanting to kill these ’cockroaches’ that refused to die.

It gathered its power into its fist before punching Ellia.

Ellia wanted to get away, but Katarina leaped over her and blocked the ape’s fist with her own.

Their abilities collided violently as their energies burst apart, causing a small shock wave.

”I will tank him this time.” Katarina smiled. She might use bullets and elemental manipulations as her weapons, but she was originally exceptional in both offense and defense.

Even if she couldn’t win against the ape, she wouldn’t be defeated either. She could back up her confidence as the vice president of the student council with her strength.

With the ape unable to move, Ellia immediately circled around it and struck down the remaining beasts.

”!!!” The ape was startled. It didn’t expect Ellia to ignore it so quickly.

It tried to stop Ellia, but a bolt of lightning shot toward it. In addition, Katarina clenched her hand, calling rocks to restrain the ape’s body.

The ape let out another roar as its fire melted the rock slightly before its power shattered the rock, but the lightning bolt hit its body. Even if there wasn’t much damage, it still stopped the ape for several seconds.

At the same time, Eric and Vera finally arrived. They killed one beast respectively as their entrance.

In addition to Ellia’s kills, there were only six beasts left. They immediately went after them, killing them in less than ten seconds.

”All done!” Ellia shouted.

Auric waved his hand. ”Katarina, Eva, switch! We’re taking down the snake first!”

This was a logical decision. The snake had been severely weakened. Even without a rank 4 human, they should be able to take it down.

Eva would then focus on holding off the ape until they were done.

Auric finished his Edict.

”Thunderous Wind.” Auric flicked the words and formed a sphere that combined wind and lightning, shooting it at the snake.

”!!!” The snake noticed this incoming attack. It was at a level that couldn’t be underestimated anymore.

It coiled up and released all its energy to form two tornadoes. The first tornado was meant for Eva, while the second tornado moved into the Thunderous Wind’s path.

The sphere and the tornado collided. The sphere exploded and dispersed the tornado.

The snake was shocked. Even though it was only using half of its power, Auric could actually produce such a powerful attack in such a short time.

Eva also stopped the other tornado. While it was distracted, Ellia, Eric, and Vera had moved to the snake’s side.

Second Cataclysm.

Ellia struck the snake with her newfound power and actually cut through its skin.

Wind of Calamity.

Vera thrust the snake into an already wounded spot before sending her wind inside its body and then letting it burst. As a result, the flesh was ripped apart from the inside and splattered across the area.

Blood Spear.

Eric tossed a blood spear at the snake’s head. It didn’t hurt the snake, but the blood burst, covering the snake’s eyes for a second.

”Now switch!” Eric shouted.

”!!!” Katarina and Eva immediately turned around and leaped toward each other.

*Roar!*

The ape didn’t plan to let Katarina go, but when it was about to punch her, a shield appeared in its path, blocking the punch as well as the explosion.

”Your opponent is me.” Eva smirked and kicked the ape’s stomach, blowing it away. She created enough distance to ensure that the ape couldn’t help the snake.

On the other hand, Katarina placed her hand on the ground. Rocks emerged from the ground and circled around the snake in multiple spots as though they were trying to bind the snake to the ground.

”Shaaa!” The snake struggled and broke free as the wind surged upward. It lunged toward Katarina, while using the wind to attack Ellia and the others.

Katarina pointed her palm forward and formed a barrier.

The snake used its weight to crush the barrier, but this wasn’t an ordinary barrier. When the snake broke one barrier, its head crashed against another barrier.

In fact, the barrier had five layers. Since this was the last place, there was no need to hold back on power consumption anymore.

At the same time, Ellia leaped away before the wind could even reach her. Vera simply cut through the wind while muttering, ”You’ve become sloppy, snake. You’re going to die soon.”

Eric was the only one who struggled to stop the wind, but he at least avoided getting injured.

Knowing that he was still far inferior to Ellia and Vera, Eric threw another blood spear as a distraction.

To his surprise, the blood spear actually hit the snake’s right eye and made it explode.

”Shaaa!” The snake wailed in pain.

Katarina raised her fist as though she was about to unleash an uppercut on the snake.

A massive rock fist emerged from the ground and hit the snake from below, knocking its head upward.

After that, Katarina shot her bullets, destroying its scales. Even two bullets managed to pierce through the already weakened defense.

It didn’t stop there. Ellia and Vera glanced at each other.

”I don’t plan to ask, but...”

”I may dislike the idea, but this is necessary for victory!”

They reached a tacit understanding. All the efforts that Katarina, Eric, and Auric had poured in might go to waste if they didn’t unite.

That was why both Ellia and Vera went to the same spot. Now that the snake had been distracted, Ellia and Vera gathered their power.

Second Cataclysm.

Wind of Calamity.

Both of them struck at the same spot.

”Haaaa!” Both of them pushed forward and cut the snake’s body cleanly, severing at least half of the snake’s body.

”Shaaaa!” The snake cried in pain as it ignored everything else and tried to drag Ellia and Vera down with it.

Ellia grabbed Vera and used her Void Step to teleport herself and Vera above the snake’s head.

”Get away!” Auric shouted.

”!!!” Ellia glanced at Auric, wondering why he had given the warning. It turned out Auric had finished making another Edict.

Vera used her wind element to fly farther away.

”That’s interesting.” Katarina raised her hand. ”I shall help you, then.”

Many rocks rose from the ground, preventing the snake from escaping.

Eric also formed blood chains, helping Katarina restrain the snake.

Auric had been silent the whole time because he was preparing something massive.

He could finally release it.

The wind sphere became its foundation. Then, the fire swallowed the wind, turning it into a swirling sphere of fire. After that, the lightning covered the sphere’s surface.

Katarina showed interest in it because this was the first time Auric had combined three elements at the same time.

Before this fight, Auric had only managed to fuse two elements at a time. This was because the level of control he needed to achieve a three-element fusion was too demanding.

After training for the past two weeks, Auric could finally use it.

He waved his two fingers downward as the wind sphere dropped like a bomb.

”Shaaa!” The snake struggled. Unfortunately, it didn’t have enough strength or time to break free.

The sphere exploded. It carried the wind’s tenacity and violent currents, reinforced by the absolute fire element’s extraordinary firepower, and covered in the lightning’s exceptional fierceness.

The explosion was actually larger than Katarina’s Meteor. Then again, Katarina split her Meteor into ten.

Katarina could see that if she combined four of them, she would be able to produce the same effect. Still, she was one rank above Auric, not to mention the fact that she was already close to reaching rank 4.

”So, this is the fusion of three elements?” Katarina sucked in a cold breath. ”How strong will it become once he fuses all of his elements? Professor Schad truly gave Auric a pair of wings with that fusion technique.”

The explosion actually blew half of the snake’s head off.

The snake was struggling to do anything, but it lost all its strength and fell to the ground.

”We did it!” They all couldn’t help but cheer. They had just killed a rank 4 beast after struggling so much.

Still, they had exhausted most of their power. It would be troublesome to take down the rank 4 ape, but they could see a way to do it. Killing the rank 4 ape needed to be swift. In other words, they needed to work together.

*Roar!*

As if noticing the snake’s death, the ape let out a roar of fury and swung at Eva.

Eva raised her shield and received the attack head-on.

Suddenly, Eric, Ellia, and Vera attacked from the left.

All of them used their respective abilities to strike a single spot.

Second Cataclysm.

Wind of Calamity.

Blood Swing.

The ape had reinforced its arm with magical energy, but when they combined their strength to strike at the same spot, it wasn’t enough.

The ape raised its other hand to stop them before they could break through its defense.

However, a stone fist emerged from the ground, while metal roots wrapped around the ape’s other hand.

Still, as one would expect from an ape, it shattered the fist and broke free from the roots.

”No, you won’t!” Eva thrust her spear.

Light of Judgment.

The powerful energy from the spear clashed with the fire fist. Because the fire fist had been weakened by Auric and Katarina’s abilities, the clash was brief.

The spear actually pierced through the gap between its fingers, splitting its hand.

In addition, Eric, Ellia, and Vera also cut through the ape’s arm.

*Roar!*

The ape roared in pain and tried to jump away.

However, Eva skillfully maintained a close distance and hit the ape, preventing it from running.

The ape gritted its teeth and raised both arms before smashing the ground.

The explosion the flame caused kicked up rocks, which should be enough to stop them from coming.

Unfortunately for the ape, Ellia had used her Void Step to teleport through the explosion, dragging Vera with her.

Eric rushed toward Katarina and Auric, using his power to block the residual power. This way, Katarina could launch her bullets and Auric could release his Piercing Thunder without using any of their energy to defend.

Eva was the only one who simply pushed through it, as if such a small attack couldn’t affect her.

The ape panicked, but it was futile.

Katarina’s bullets hit the ape’s body, knocking it off balance so that it couldn’t escape. Auric’s Piercing Thunder electrocuted it to ensure he stayed in the same place.

After that, Eva thrust her spear using the same technique, creating a hole in the middle of the ape’s chest.

Ellia and Vera leaped toward the ape’s head, struck its neck, and sent its head flying.
