The Mecha Driver Is a Cultivator

”To achieve the dual championship in the Star Dome Limit-Breaking Cup as a new life student is an unprecedented feat. Senior Qin Jin, it is because of you that I chose Martial Abyss. I will strive to learn from you!”

He paused for a moment, as if choosing his words carefully, then clenched his fist and said, ”To carry on the glory of Martial Abyss is our duty!”

As those words fell.

Laughter arose beside Qin Jin.

Qin Jin looked at his earnest face, nodded, and encouraged, ”Keep it up.”

Upon hearing the encouragement, Chu Wen became even more excited and wanted to say more, but the girl beside him pulled him away, her face lined with exasperation: ”That’s enough, stop bothering the seniors.”

She smiled apologetically at Qin Jin and the others, then pulled Chu Wen away.

Beside Qin Jin.

Xie Wuya, who had been amused, suddenly called out as he watched the two leave, ”Chu Wen, make sure to do your best!”

”I will!”

Being pulled away, Chu Wen turned his head towards the voice, realizing it wasn’t Qin Jin, he called out, ”This senior, you have to work hard too!”

The figures faded into the distance.

”Why did I become ’this senior’?”

Xie Wuya took a deep breath, ”When this kid reaches the Innate Realm, I must spar with him.”

Amidst laughter and cheer, the group vanished into the distance.

Han Miao and Xie Wuya left, while Qin Jin was invited by Bai Huaiyu to her residence.

In the living room.

Qin Jin sat down to wait as Bai Huaiyu appeared in casual clothes with a cup, setting it before Qin Jin: ”Try it, it’s a beverage unique to our civilization.”

Qin Jin took it, tasted it gently—it was a bit astringent at first, but then came the continuous sweetness, making one linger on the taste.

He put down the cup and looked at Bai Huaiyu, ”Why did you specifically call me over?”

Both were aware of each other’s identity, so Qin Jin spoke rather directly.

”The request I sent within our civilization has been approved.”

Bai Huaiyu smiled softly, ”Going forward, I can stay in the Starfire Federation for a long time, serving as a Civilization Observer, to record everything that happens within from my perspective.”

Qin Jin nodded.

Bai Huaiyu continued, ”Observations from the Crosser Civilization are at a macro level, while we, the Civilization Observers, focus on a microlevel.”

”Qin Jin, I wish to make this microlevel even more detailed.”

”What do you mean?”

”I have reviewed the rise of the Starfire Federation.”

”Your progress into the Star Sea was due to inheriting offworld civilization, and during your strong growth, the evolutionary path of martial arts was crucial. Furthermore, every major leap in your Federation was tied to significant martial arts breakthroughs.”

”Thus, I developed a thought.”

”If I could observe the growth of a martial artist, it might reveal completely different vistas on a smaller scale.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Jin understood her intention: ”You’re planning to choose me as the observation subject.”

Bai Huaiyu nodded.

”I initially planned to bring this up today, but didn’t expect other matters to coincide.”

”Weren’t you planning on embarking on a cultivation journey after school starts?”

”If you agree, I hope to accompany you on this journey.”

She looked at Qin Jin, her expression earnest, ”If you agree, I will contact the Crosser Civilization and communicate the related information through the civilization level to the Starfire Federation.”

”The Federation’s senior officials understand that we, the Crosser Civilization, belong to no side and are truly independent entities within the Star Sea. The observed records of civilization we keep will be treasured and not disclosed.”

”Having a Civilization Observer beside me, is it?”

Qin Jin’s thoughts turned.

For a martial artist, this could even be considered an honor, for a prehistoric civilization, lasting unknown ages, to conduct an independent observation—a testament to their regard.

However, for Qin Jin, it just felt subtle.

”Regarding this matter, I cannot agree.”

Facing Bai Huaiyu’s gaze, Qin Jin replied.

”For two reasons.”

With their relationship amiable, Qin Jin expanded further, ”Choosing to observe a martial artist is indeed a good choice, but for me personally, I lack universality compared to most martial artists.”

”I’m distinctly different from many martial artists.”

Qin Jin spoke frankly, continuing, ”Secondly, I don’t need any companion for this cultivation journey.”

Listening to Qin Jin’s response.

Bai Huaiyu pondered and nodded, ”I understand.”

”Indeed, within the academy, there are many suitable observation subjects.”

Qin Jin looked at her, ”Martial Abyss is a top-tier academy in the Star System, and its students will have different fortunes in the future. Although they may not reach the zenith, they will similarly possess exciting stories unique to themselves.”

”Bai Huaiyu.”

”Staying within the academy to observe them might yield more than observing me as an ’anomaly’.”

As Qin Jin finished speaking, Bai Huaiyu considered, then shifted and asked, ”In that case, would it be possible to accept an interview from me every few years?”

”Qin Jin.”

”I am also studying Federation Martial Arts within the academy, and your progress in martial arts is astonishing. I’d like to document it.”

”Of course.”

Qin Jin agreed with pleasure.

After this exchange, Qin Jin left.

...

As students returned and new ones entered, the Martial Arts Department Area buzzed with activity.

On the first day of school, Qin Jin went to the docking area alone.

Standing in front of the starship dock, he looked back at the campus, summoned Candle Kite to his side, and boarded the [Xingzhou Ship].
