Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 148 - 149 Two Sovereigns

149: Two Sovereigns 149: Two Sovereigns Editor: Atlas Studios A youth like this who appeared tender and frail was the Peacock King whose name shook the southern region.

Facing such a sovereign, Ye Fan didn’t have any thoughts of going all out to resist.

He was an existence who could break the void with a single figure.

The King wouldn’t have to expend the slightest energy if he wished to kill the two of them.

“I came for you.” The Peacock King’s eyes were clear as water, appearing just like an inexperienced youngster as he calmly looked at Ye Fan.

Ji Ziyue’s eyes opened wide, and she asked in bewilderment, “You didn’t come here to kill me?” The Peacock King didn’t respond.

He was calmer than a snowy mountain, letting people feel refreshed, not at all appearing like a sovereign whose magical might overflowed the heavens.

“Why did you come for me?” Ye Fan had a vague guess.

“The Demon Emperor’s sacred heart.” This was just as Ye Fan expected.

This caused him to feel a bit awkward.

Back then when he had been extracting the sacred blood, the heart had suddenly broken out of its seal, recovering its vitality and soaring into the sky.

“What?” “It…flew away by itself.” Ye Fan braced himself for a bad reaction.

This kind of explanation really was a bit far-fetched.

However, the Peacock King nodded.

“You…believe me?” “Yes.

I already saw it fly back into the hands of the Demon Emperor’s descendant.” Ye Fan was startled.

That heart had already gained a spirituality, actually returning back to Yan Ruyu’s hands.

He couldn’t help himself from asking, “If you already knew, why did you come searching for me?” “I want to figure out just why it flew away,” the Peacock King laughed, looking straight through Ye Fan’s Wheel and Sea, wanting to penetrate through its mystery.

Ye Fan knew that he was unable to block such a sovereign, but despite this, he still didn’t want someone to be able to see all his secrets so easily.

He immediately turned his Wheel and Sea completely silent without the slightest fluctuation.

A faint smile appeared on the Peacock King’s face as he slowly walked up.

There was no frightening or intimidating air from him.

Instead he appeared like the flowing clouds and winds.

However, he still brought a huge psychological pressure.

Ji Ziyue’s voice shuddered as she said, “You’re a sovereign of legends.

You can’t tyrannize us like this.

Go find trouble for the Flickering Light Sacred Master.

Back then your fight ended in a draw.

You might be able to beat him now.” “How about if I go find trouble for your Ji Family Master?” The Peacock King had a faint smile that appeared somewhat strange and out of place of his sixteen-year-old appearance.

“Who taught you the footwork you used just before?” The Peacock King’s smile disappeared, finally revealing a serious expression.

“An old madman,” Ye Fan told him the truth.

“So it really was him!

He actually transmitted it to you!” Two bright lights shot out of the Peacock King’s eyes.

A pressuring feeling came from, and it was only now that people could sense how frightening he was.

His gaze was as sharp as a knife.

“Senior should have already met the old madman.

He’s in the Taixuan Sect.” Ye Fan had absolute faith in the old madman’s abilities.

To be able to live six thousand years, even if the Peacock King was a sovereign, he most likely wasn’t the old madman’s match.

“Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet him.

He already disappeared a couple days ago.” The Peacock King was somewhat regretful.

The old madman had entered a deep slumber and was covered by the cocoon.

He had actually disappeared?

Ye Fan wondered just how he had broken out of the cocoon and where he had gone.

“I’m very interested in your physique.

I really want to study it a bit.” He then paused slightly before saying, “However, since that old madman has transmitted his technique down to you, I won’t make any trouble for you.” Ji Ziyue’s eyes flashed with light.

Just what kind of existence was the old madman?

He had been unmatched six thousand years ago.

The fact that Ye Fan had a relationship with him was absolutely shocking.

“However, since we’ve already met here, if I were to let this opportunity go it would still be regretful.” The Peacock King waved his hand and the sky in their area immediately darkened.

The sun had originally been blazing high above them, but with the wave of his hand the curtain of night fell.

This kind of ability made their hearts shiver.

Stars filled the pitch-black curtain of night he had drawn.

They were like tiny diamonds sparkling within the darkness, unceasingly flickering.

“This can’t be considered making things difficult for you.

Whether you are able to break through this darkness will depend completely on yourself.

I only want to see just how tyrannical your physique is.” “This is a Wheel and Sea Variation…Radiant Stars in the Clear Sky!” Ji Ziyue was very shocked.

The Peacock King had just randomly waved his hand as he wished to form a legendary Variation.

He was already at a peak level of strength and there was no need for him to display by it through his Wheel and Sea.

“It’s just a couple dim stars.

As I said, I won’t make this hard for you.

This is not the complete Variation.” The Peacock King’s words were spoken very calmly with a faint smile.

Ye Fan felt as if he was now within the starry sky.

The stars shone, growing and actually slowly crushing down on him!

They didn’t even seem like stars anymore.

They were like blazing suns!

Ye Fan was overwhelmed with shock.

What kind of Variation was this?

Each star was so formidable, each capable of destroying the land and possessing incomparable majesty.

His heart shook and his cracking noises came from his body.

Even his joints were trembling as they tried to support this powerful pressure.

Those stars still seemed extremely far away and hadn’t truly descended down, but they were already so frightening, possessing an inconceivable amount of strength.

“When people talk about Variations they’ll always compare them to how powerful the ancient sovereigns’ Variations were.

But right now, a true sovereign is using his Variation against me.

It really is terrifying…” Ye Fan was profoundly shocked.

Despite the endless pressure he was facing, this was only “a couple of dim stars?” The so-called “clear sky” of the Variation had yet to truly appear, but this false version was already so powerful?

Just how powerful was the true Variation of Radiant Stars in the Clear Sky?

The stars that filled the sky trembled.

Ye Fan pressed onwards with difficulty, taking one heavy step at a time.

His body emitted rumbling crashing wave sounds, apparently unwilling to be suppressed.

Lightning and thunder weaved as if he had gone back to the era of the creation of the universe.

A strange energy circulated out from within his Wheel and Sea.

Ye Fan’s heart thumped.

He finally understood that the Ancient Desolation Sacred Body would always have a strange indescribable reaction to Variations.

Whether it was the Bright Moon Rising over the Sea or the Radiant Stars in the Clear Sky, they had provoked a strange reaction from his body, causing it to release a power to resist the suppression.

Within the sky of stars, Ye Fan continued to walk forward, leaving behind deep footprints with every step.

The stars hadn’t descended and simply continued to shine above.

They looked like Origin Qi, yet also like the nebulas within the cosmos, their light surging towards Ye Fan.

CRACK!

Ye Fan felt like his back was carrying a huge mountain.

The ground below him was cracking and his bones continuously trembled, a sonorous reverberation echoing out with every one of his movements.

BOOM!

With a violent shock, Ye Fan found that everything had brightened.

He had finally walked out of that curtain of night.

Turning back, the starry sky vanished, leaving behind only a land filled with huge crevices extending out from his footprints.

“Not bad.

This kind of physique’s reputation is not in vain.” The Peacock King nodded his approval, his eyes flashing with strange light.

“He’s passed your test so let him go.

As for me, if you want to kill me, then kill me.

I’m not afraid.” Ji Ziyue raised her head straight.

She had already calmed down and was not afraid.

“This little girl really does have some backbone.” The Peacock King’s delicate appearance did not say anything about what he was thinking.

“It would be a shame to kill you.

A physique like yours rarely appears, and me killing you is equivalent to me forcing it into extinction.” (Ed.

note: Oh, so she doesn’t have a Divine Body.

Just a ‘special physique.’ Right.) “Then does that mean you’ll let me go?” A moving light flashed within her large eyes.

“The Peacock King is indeed open-minded and worthy of being a senior sovereign of legends.

Ji Ziyue thanks you.” “Little girl, you may be a smooth talker, but when did I say I’d let you go?” The Peacock King faintly smiled.

“You clearly said that killing me would be a shame…” Ji Ziyue quietly mumbled to herself, but she didn’t dare grind her teeth.

“Senior, it isn’t her fault.

If you want to kill people then kill the Ji Family’s Grand Elders.

She’s just a little girl, so there’s no reason to implicate her.” Ye Fan also pled on her behalf.

“Do you think you’re old or something?” The Peacock King gave him a glance before saying to Ji Ziyue, “I can let you live, but you’ll have to come with me instead of returning back to the Ji Family.

You can complement the Great Emperor’s descendant.” Ji Ziyue was scared witless.

She had never had such a thought to follow one of the demon race’s sovereigns.

She pitifully said, “Please no.

I’ve never killed anyone, not even ants!” “Your Ji Family is too overbearing.

To kill my demon race’s people and chase after the Great Emperor’s descendant, I naturally have to pay them back.

Bringing you away will definitely make them feel some regret.” “How is my big brother Haoyue?

Have you already killed him?” Ji Ziyue hastily asked.

“The divine body is truly extraordinary, but he won’t be able to escape.” “Don’t kill big brother Haoyue!

He has the divine body, killing him would be too wasteful…,” begged Ji Ziyue.

“What’s so great about the divine body?

According to what I’ve heard, the old madman personally killed someone who had reached the major success stage of it, an Eastern Wastelands Divine King.

But my lifespan doesn’t allow me to wait that long, so I’ll have to kill him before he’s reached that level.” Ye Fan and Ji Ziyue were both shocked.

The old madman truly was too amazing, even managing to kill an Eastern Wastelands Divine King.

“What have you done to my big brother?” Ji Ziyue was very worried.

“My senior disciple has gone to capture him.

I’m waiting for your Ji Family Master to come save him.” The Peacock King’s words were very tranquil, but they incited great alarm.

He really was worthy of being a sovereign of the demon race.

He possessed such boldness.

After having fought a great battle with the Flickering Light Sacred Master eight hundred years ago, he now wanted to have a battle with the Ji Family Sacred Master.

Just at this moment, the Peacock King looked into the horizon and said, “Non Gongzheng, since you’ve already come, why don’t you reveal yourself?” Flower petals fluttered in midair, and a huge straight path of fresh flowers bloomed into the horizon, releasing a refreshing fragrance.

Light shone and flowers bloomed, the path quickly arriving on front of them.

A green-clothed tall man walked down.

His eyes seemed to be filled with stars, his hair white as snow.

The legendary sovereign of the human race – Nan Gongzheng.

He cultivated a life art, using plants and trees as his home, flowers to allay his hunger, never living far from vegetation.

“Having been apart for eight hundred years, the Peacock King is still as impressive as ever.

That world-shaking battle that amazed the southern region with the Flickering Light Sacred Master seems to still be fresh in my mind.” Nan Gongzheng only appeared around twenty, his tall stature appearing very imposing and handsome.

But his hair was white as snow, and he possessed a particular aura.

“Nan Gongzheng, did you want to find out more about that battle?” The Peacock King stood with his hands clasped behind his back.

“Peacock King, does a transcendent existence like you really need to make such a huge fuss?

How about you let them go, then join hands with me to enter the Bronze Immortal Palace?” “It is really is unnatural!” Ji Ziyue quietly muttered, “The Peacock King’s power overflows the heavens, his roar shaking the mountains and rivers, but he is a delicate youth.

Nan Gongzheng has plants and trees as his friends and flowers as his companion.

They look like they should be sent sweeping the floor, growing flowers, and cooking meals!” “What kind of random thoughts do you have…?” Ye Fan couldn’t help but tap her head when he heard this.
