125: When Will the Mountains and Flowers Appear Again?

Editor: Atlas Studios This was definitely an impressive person.

But it was a pity his bones were left here without anyone knowing, dying within this mist.

Many ancient cultivators were aggrieved about how hopeless it was trying to reach Immortality.

Many powerful cultivators in their later years would die perplexed and doubtful.

Unable to find a way to leave, all Ye Fan could do was pick a direction and walk forward.

Not long after he found a white skeleton lying on the ground, facing upwards.

Its lower jawbone was slightly opened, seemingly filled with loneliness.

There were also bloody words here.

Ye Fan squatted down and carefully read them.

“Achieving Immortality…difficult!

Difficult!

Difficult!” These five words were miserable and bitter.

This person seemed as if he were in complete despair before he died.

“There are more words!” The purple-clothed maiden noticed more under the white skeleton’s arm.

Ye Fan gently pushed against the arm and it immediately crumbled into white dust.

Beneath was written: Celestial Jade’s Yang Yichen.

“Heavens!” Her mouth opened wide, her face filled with shock.

“The Celestial Jade’s Yang Yichen is recorded within the Eastern Wastelands’ ancient history as an incomparably talented figure.

Fifteen thousand years ago, the existences that could match him within the Eastern Wastelands were far and few between.

So he actually died here…” Hearing this, Ye Fan was extremely started.

The Celestial Jade Sacred Land had long since disappeared from this world.

All that remained was that one crazy old man.

It appeared this place truly was a burial ground for countless unrivalled experts who had come here like moths to a flame, searching for any hope of Immortality.

But in the end, they all failed and died in this place.

A third white skeleton caused the purple-clothed maiden to sharply cry out.

She was very moved, as although those bloody words were very fuzzy, she could still make out that this was someone from the Ji Family.

“An ancestor of my Ji Family from nine thousand years ago.

Not only is he recorded in my Ji Family’s clan register, he also left his mark on the Eastern Wastelands’ ancient history.

I never thought that…” Ye Fan continued walking forward.

They found over thirty corpses here.

A couple of them left names behind, and they were all absolutely peerless recorded experts from ancient history.

Within the wide and empty bronze palace, there was absolutely no end and they were unable to find any path.

The lake’s water didn’t flow into it, making this place its own isolated world.

“Achieving Immortality is so difficult…” Ye Fan was moved.

From ancient times to now, all of the Eastern Wastelands’ absolute peak figures were unable to jump over that last step.

“How did these people die here?

If we die here, will we even be able to leave behind a skeleton?” Ji Ziyue was depressed, never thinking that there would come a day like this.

“We can’t be trapped here…” Ye Fan carefully thought about it, but he couldn’t think of any way to escape.

This many outstanding figures had died here, so how could he escape?

Suddenly, the bronze palace started shaking.

A powerful force like stars crushing down rendered them unable to breathe.

The bronze palace was filled with mist.

Unexpectedly, there was actually primal chaos billowing within that rumbled forward to submerge the two of them, completely unstoppable.

This was a kind of genesis energy from the beginning of the universe.

Just as heaven and earth were split, when stars began to glimmer and primal chaos exploded out.

They were completely unable to resist it, and if the two of them were submerged by it, their deaths would be inevitable.

“I don’t want to die…” Ji Ziyue cried out, continuously repeating the words of people from legends who had already become Immortals.

Ye Fan’s heart had turned completely cold.

He truly had no way of blocking the primal chaos’ power.

Many figures flashed within his mind at this moment.

His life flashed before his eyes.

Suddenly, Ye Fan’s Wheel and Sea gently trembled.

The boulder-quiet lump of green copper unexpectedly swayed, and the charging primal chaos immediately became sluggish.

He then felt the spring mouth as the bottom of his sea empty out.

The patinated copper actually shot out of his Wheel and Sea, appearing in front of him without any light or energy fluctuation, completely plain.

“What is this?” Ji Ziyue’s eyes opened wide in confusion.

Ye Fan’s heart was swelling with shock.

This was something that had never before occurred.

The copper chunk lightly trembled for a moment in front of him, causing their surroundings to immediately become calm.

It then flashed and once more submerged itself at the spring-mouth of Ye Fan’s Sea.

Ji Ziyue was very shocked, continuously asking questions.

But he didn’t have any answers, and wouldn’t have given them to her, anyway.

Now that the bronze palace had turned silent, the two of them were startled to find they were no longer in their original position.

Two huge gate doors had somehow appeared in front of them.

There were a dozen white skeletons here.

They shone with luster, not turning into bone dust, so they were clearly even greater than the previous skeletons.

Ye Fan walked up and lightly tapped them.

A sonorous sound came from them, like they were made of metal or stone.

Despite the countless years that had passed, they weren’t erased from this world.

Several of them left blood characters, one of them causing Ye Fan to stare distractedly.

“I have an Immortal’s heart.

Mortality was blocked for such a long time, when will it finally be over?

When will the mountains and flowers appear again?” This was a kind of great boldness, yet it was also a kind of helplessness and despair.

Having his strength reach such a level, he had definitely surpassed those before them.

But it was still hopeless for him to become an Immortal.

This phrase contained endless regret and loneliness.

“This person…” Ji Ziyue despondently muttered, “According to the rumors in this world, this person was suspected to have achieved Immortality.

He actually died here.” A figure who was thought to be an Immortal actually fell in such a place.

This made people wonder even more whether Immortals really existed.

Ye Fan sized up the old skeletons, his heart deeply moved.

Now he would always wonder whether the lands of the Eastern Wastelands truly did hold Immortals.

Passing the skeletons, they arrived in front of the two gate doors.

Ye Fan’s heart shook to see that they were in the shape of the Taiji’s Yin Yang fish.

The left door was the black Yin fish, the right door the white Yang fish.

“This…two combine into one, the Taiji!” Ye Fan couldn’t help being shocked.

“Daoism was passed from ancient times, within traditional medicine, cultural traditions, from Confucian temples to palaces…the Taiji diagram was termed ancient China’s most important diagram, on the same level of mystery as the cauldron.

On top of the black Yin door was a bold and ancient character, its imposing manner pressuring others, desiring to cause their demise.

DEATH!

This word was very ominous, carved into the wall like a curse, seeming to have some hint of blood.

As for the white Yin door, it also had one word written forcefully: LIFE!

The strokes were vigorous with a divine charm, giving it an auspicious aura, completely the opposite of the Yin door.

There was no other path in the murky darkness.

In front of them was a decision of life and death.

The two of them were both worried; only two paths remaining in front of them.

“There’s nothing to think about, we have to pick the Life door.

Who would pick death?” Ji Ziyue wrinkled her nose, narrowing her eyes and saying, “You can’t be thinking of choosing the Death door, can you?

I still want to achieve Immortality…” Ye Fan didn’t pay attention to her, but was rather silently pondering.

In the end, he muttered to himself, “Taiji gives birth to Yin and Yang, Yang for Life and Yin for Death.” However, he didn’t make the same choice, because he felt it didn’t conform exactly with the Taiji.

He concentrated on the Yin and Yang doors, saying, “Yang forms Yin, Yin forms Yang, Yin and Yang are backwards, life and death are in opposite positions.” He had read quite a few ancient books.

He wasn’t sure of their truth, but there were many sayings about how Yin and Yang came from each other.

He pointed to the death gate and said, “This is the true path to life!” Ji Ziyue’s mouth opened, asking in alarm, “What kind of random stuff are you saying?” “Although it looks peaceful, but there will be no way to leave the door of Life once entered.

The door of Death however has a glimmer of light within the darkness, a small path of hope for us.” “Are you sure?

Don’t just wildly guess or you’ll have killed a future Immortal, Ji Ziyue.

If you do, then you’ll get a terrible bad karma.” Ye Fan was somewhat hesitant.

He had only made this guess because of the two-sided Taiji, but this was the other side of the starry sky, not ancient China.

His logic might not necessarily be applicable.

“Little brother, are you sure or not?” Dong!

Ye Fan rapped her forehead, saying, “Call me brother.

Don’t be cheeky.” Tears welled up in Ji Ziyue’s eyes.

Grinding her teeth, she angrily said, “If you dare hit me again don’t blame me for being rude.

I’m going to be Immortal in the future!” In the end, Ye Fan choose to enter the Death door.

BOOM!

Suddenly a tsunami-like sound came from the Yin door.

Black light like a deep abyss charged out.

On the Yang door, white light began to glow.

Black and white opposed each other.

The colors of life and death reflected between, Yin and Yang Qis circulating, filling the entire world.

A rumbling sound came from them, like an angry ocean surging and a thunderous lightning piercing through the world.

The beginning of the Taiji, life and death diametrically opposed in front of the Yin and Yang doors.

This collision was incomparably dreadful.

It could give birth to all living things, yet it could destroy heaven and earth.

Suddenly, the green copper trembled and once more appeared.

Fixed before the Yang and Yin doors, it might appear extremely ordinary, but it was like a lofty mountain, immediately causing the Yin and Yang Qi to disappear.

“Just what treasure is this?” Ji Ziyue’s mouth popped wide open in extreme shock.

A strange light flashed over her lively eyes.

Ye Fan didn’t reply to her.

Acting completely calm, he took back the patinated copper into his body and continued walking forward.

The Yin door seemed to drip with blood, a sinister infernal image.

Both of them saw a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood at the same time.

Millions and millions of endless bones.

They were like a small boat on the verge of capsizing at any moment.

Ye Fan unswervingly pushed against the black Yin door that was supposedly the Death door.

After, there was no great murder intent, no rain of rain, no poisonous stench.

There was only an empty path that extended so far that he was unable to see the end.

Tap, tap, tap… Only the sound of their footsteps rang throughout the emptiness.

The path appeared like it hadn’t been walked upon in tens of thousands of years, completely silent.

“Where does this ancient path lead?

Could it be that the end of it has the answer on how to achieve Immortality?” Ji Ziyue proposed.

An hour passed before Ye Fan finally arrived at the end.

Right in front of him was a misty primal chaos in which Yin and Yang Qis were circulating.

This was an empty palace hall.

As before, there were several bright white skeletons here.

A large word was written on the wall in front: IMMORTAL.

It had an inexplicable charm to it.

It was written with blood, but the blood still seemed fresh, even glowing with bright bloody light.

Extremely evil!

Immortals should be incomparably sacred and holy.

How could it be profaned with blood?

Moreover, this blood was clearly not ordinary.

Who knew how many thousands of years had passed.

All of those experts’ bodies had turned to dust, and even those peerless experts were only able to leave behind their skeletons.

But here, the Immortal character written in blood was still scarlet red, glowing with light.

It seemed to even drip and flow, causing people to be unable to imagine what it was.

“Is this an Immortal’s blood?”
