Shrouding the Heavens

36: The Ancient Desolation’s Sacred Body 36: The Ancient Desolation’s Sacred Body Editor: Atlas Studios Over ten people walked into the lounge with their rainbow beams collecting back into their bodies.

They were all over forty years old, and there were both men and women.

They each had their own distinct qualities: as calm as a hidden orchid, as cold as a sword, or as steady as a boulder.

Amongst them was a middle aged man who had an imposing air around him.

He powerfully and resoundingly laughed, “Although Yan’s interior is said to have six Heavenly Paradises, your ‘Spirit Ruins Paradise’ doesn’t live up to its name as a Paradise.

Calling it a ‘Blessed Ground’ is much more appropriate.” “Liu Wanshan, what do you mean?” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors immediately became displeased.

They all advanced, hiding Zhou Yi, Lin Jia, and the others behind them, and in particular protecting Ye Fan and Pang Bo.

The middle-aged man called Liu Wanshan’s name was Thousand Mountains; he truly lived up to this name, standing just like a mountain, giving people on oppressive feeling.

His words were very direct as he laughed, “Since you have over ten good seedlings, we of course want to take a couple to guide onto their cultivation paths.” Beside him, a white-haired elderly woman nodded, “That’s right; Yan’s six Blessed Paradises are all connected.

We naturally wish to have our share now that you’ve suddenly found so many extraordinary seedlings.” One of the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors frowned, “Senior Li Ying, your own argument is against you.

Three years ago when your ‘Golden Sun Clouds Paradise’ found so many disciples with unusually good bone foundations, you didn’t send our Spirit Ruins Paradise a single one.” “Those people’s talents were all ordinary, how could they count as immortal sprouts?

Of course we didn’t disturb you,” the white-haired old woman laughed.

At this moment, a senior with fluttering white hair and who seemed to possess an immortal manner down to his very bones walked forward.

He spoke quickly, “These few people still aren’t at the level of being immortal sprouts.

How about this: each of our Blessed Paradises will only take a couple of them, and we’ll leave a couple extra for you Spirit Ruins Paradise.” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors were all immediately angered.

But towards this man who seemed to possess an immortal air down to his very bones, they were still quite somewhat afraid.

“Senior Ma Yun, don’t tell me your Jade Cauldron Paradise is lacking in promising disciples?

I heard that you’ve already found two genuine immortal sprouts.” The old man who was called Ma Yun laughed as he sized up Ye Fan and Pang Bo, occasionally nodding his head.

This caused the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors to immediately become nervous; other people could be lost, but these two definitely had to stay with them.

“How about this, I’ll represent the Jade Cauldron Paradise in only selecting one person.” The white-haired, white-mustached, Ma Yun pointed to Ye Fan and Pang Bo, saying, “I won’t go overboard.

Either one of these two can be given to me.” “No!” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors simultaneously rejected.

At the same time, the other Heavenly Paradises also started to make their selections.

None of them gave way to the others, all strongly arguing.

Ye Fan listened closely and managed to obtain quite a bit of information.

A ‘Paradise’ was better for cultivation than a ‘Blessed Ground.’ In fact, after a Paradise was formed, they would often naturally give rise to a Blessed Ground.

At this point, it was impossible for the Spirit Ruins Paradise to keep all of them.

With the five Blessed Paradises’ people here, they couldn’t unwillingly give away a portion.

However, they were all arguing viciously over who would get who.

In the end, the atmosphere became very hostile and nerve-wracking.

None of the six Blessed Paradises wished to give way.

In the end, that imposing mountain-like man Liu Wanshan said, “Looks like we can only settle this with a fight.” “That’s the most appropriate way to settle this.” The Golden Sun Cloud Paradise’s old woman nodded in agreement.

“To avoid hurting our friendships, no actual attacks; stop once you make contact.” The Jade Cauldron Paradise’s white-haired old man also assented.

The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors appeared extremely displeased; Ye Fan and the others were found by them, but now the other Paradises wished to take them for their own.

In the end, it was difficult to predict just how many they could keep.

Over ten rainbows soared, appearing exceptionally bright in the night sky.

The Blessed Paradises’ fight had begun.

Ye Fan and the others all went outside the lounge to look at the sky, but it was a shame that those people had just become small dots in the sky.

The more they fought, the further they went, and it was impossible to see them clearly.

All they could see were some lights in the night sky as rainbows flashed back and forth.

Occasionally, rumbles of thunder would sound out, as well as gale winds, causing even stones to roll.

Zhou Yi, Lin Jia, and the other were all dazzled by their godly speed.

Just now, they had just been calmly talking, but now they were flying so fast; seeing such a formidable might caused them to yearn for it even more.

After a long time, the divine rainbows disappeared from the sky.

None of them knew how the battle had gone.

Only half an hour later did the divine rainbows once more appear on the horizon, arriving back in just a moment.

The first one to descend was Weiwei.

Her elegance seemed beyond the normal world.

Her water-like eyes were framed by black eyebrows.

Her luscious red lips surrounded her jade-like teeth.

The hazy moonlight seemed to spiral around her, making her appear like a cold fairy overlooking the world, a beauty that was at the utmost pinnacle.

The other seniors from Spirit Ruins Paradise descended right after her.

Although they appeared a bit dishevelled, so much so that some of them even had some bloodstains, they were all smiling in victory.

The people behind them all had varying bruises and scars, and comparatively, they appeared much more displeased.

The mighty middle-aged man Liu Wanshan had blood on his forehead that yet to dry, the old man Ma Yun with the immortal air and fluttering white moustache had had his hair cut off, and the white-haired old woman Li Ying’s walking stick had been cut into two pieces.

“I never imagined that Weiwei would already have surpassed us at such a young age.

The Spirit Ruins Paradise has produced a true genius of this generation,” lamented Ma Yun.

Ye Fan and the others were all startled.

This maiden Weiwei looked as elegant as a lotus, beautiful and tranquil, but her strength was so great that she could defeat these old seniors.

It was truly amazing.

“Since we’ve already lost, we have nothing left to say.

Your Spirit Ruins Paradise can pick the first two people.” Liu Wanshan appeared extremely displeased.

Not only had he lost to a younger generation, he also couldn’t have the first picks.

The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors didn’t hesitate at all, directly picking Ye Fan and Pang Bo with smiling faces.

Following, The Jade Cauldron Paradise’s senior Yun Ma picked Liu Yiyi, and then the Golden Sun Cloud Paradise’s old woman Li Yin picked Zhang Ziling.

Just at this moment, the seniors of the Spirit Ruins Paradise finished carefully inspecting Ye Fan’s body, and their expressions immediately changed to frowns.

“How could it be like this?!” The others quickly noticed, and immediately came over.

None of them understood what happened to cause the Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors to look so unsightly.

“What happened?

Don’t tell me your Spirit Ruins Paradise isn’t happy with just first picking two people?” “It’s not like that.

Come check for yourself.” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors all had regretful expressions as they looked at Ye Fan.

The others immediately understood that Ye Fan’s body must have some sort of problem, so they quickly crowded around him to check.

The Jade Cauldron Paradise’s senior Yun Ma was the first to walk up.

“Just by looking it is possible to sense that this youngster’s Qi and blood are especially vigorous, as powerful as those of an enormous dragon.

He should be considered an immortal sprout.

Is there some sort of problem?” The others also walked forward and began examining Ye Fan.

Being touched by people all over, Ye Fan felt extremely uneasy.

But he couldn’t do anything under these circumstances.

The Golden Sun Cloud Paradise’s old woman Li Ying was extremely bewildered, exclaiming, “How could such a physique exist?!” Liu Wanshan continued examining for a good while before he also realized the unimaginable thing.

“The divine Wheel of Life is quiet, and the Sea of Bitterness is as strong as divine iron, as stable as a boulder, impossible to shake.

There’s no way to establish it…” “What is this?!” Everyone was puzzled; this kind of physique was too strange, it didn’t match up at all to common sense.

Just at this moment, the Jade Cauldron Paradise’s Ma Yun suddenly thought of something, muttering to himself, “Is this…the physique of the legends?” He once more began to carefully study Ye Fan’s body, his finger sparkling like jade with divine light shining out as he felt around.

This was true ‘bone measuring’ and ‘spirit extension.’ Only a long time later did Yun Ma stop.

Blankly as if in a daydream, he said, “This word really does contain that physique of the legends…” “What physique?” The others all had astonished looks.

“Since – time – beyond – compare, completely – matchless – sacred – body!” Yun Ma paused between each word.

These eight words were as heavy as mountains as he spit them out.

“WHAT?!” Everyone was completely shocked.

They practically couldn’t believe their own ears.

The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors all reacted quickly, congregating around Ye Fan to protect him, as if they were afraid that people would take action to either steal or attack him.

Liu Wanshan still felt that it was unbelievable.

“The region of Yan is one thousand kilometers long from north to south, and one thousand five kilometers long from east to west.

Such a region is not even a drop in the ocean of the boundless Eastern Wastelands.

Throughout all time, I doubt even a single matchless sacred body has appeared in this region.

Even in the entire Eastern Wastelands, only an extremely few such people have ever appeared.

The Golden Sun Cloud Paradise’s Li Ying shook her head.

“It’s not that they haven’t appeared; I heard that there are several people like this within the current Eastern Wastelands.

But because they’re still growing, they haven’t appeared in public.

I think they’re probably hidden away in some Sacred Land, or maybe some ancient families from the Ancient Desolation are concealing them within.” By now, all the seniors were gazing at Ye Fan with heated expressions, wishing they could grab him to become their disciple.

Even Zhou Yi, Lin Jia, and the others were staring at Ye Fan in amazement.

But just at this moment, the Jade Cauldron Paradise’s Ma Yun coughed, “I think…you guys have misunderstood, or maybe I didn’t explain properly.” “What?” “What’s wrong?” Everyone stared at him in bewilderment.

“It’s true that he possesses the matchless sacred body, that’s not wrong.

But that is based on the era; it must be from before the Ancient Desolation.” “What do you mean?” Ma Yun explained, “I’m sure all of you have heard of the legends from the Ancient Desolation?

At that time, there was a completely matchless sacred body, beyond compare since time immemorial.

At that time, nine generations of people appeared, each who could not find a rival in heaven or earth.

That kind of body which surpassed the ancients and suppressed the contemporaries could have unimaginable achievements if the owner walked the path of cultivation.

Thus, it was regarded as the number one sacred body.” “Yes, of course we’ve heard of it.

So are you saying…” Saying this, everyone looked at Ye Fan again.

But this time, they were no longer staring at him in amazement and enthusiasm, but with disappointment.

“Yes, he possesses that kind of physique.

It’s a pity, but after the Ancient Desolation, no matter how many years passed, this kind of physique that occasionally continued to appear in the word no longer possessed its old might.

It could no longer look down on the heavens.” In reality, no one knew why this kind of physique eventually died out after the Ancient Desolation.

This physique was no longer suitable for cultivation, and not a single person could successfully cultivate it.

“Now, many sects are passing rumors that an immortal sprout with an unrivalled divine body had appeared within the Eastern Wastelands.

Just now, I thought our region of Yan would also produce such a heaven-shocking person.

Who would have thought it would turn out like this…” “The unrivalled sacred body from the Ancient Desolation is no longer as valuable as the current generation’s top divine bodies…such a shame!” The Spirit Ruins Paradise’s seniors all sighed in disappointment.

None of them, not even any of the other Blessed Paradises, continued to have any interest in Ye Fan.

As for the members of the other Blessed Paradises, their expressions were all complicated; they didn’t know whether they should be happy or disappointed.

At this moment, none of them continued to look at Ye Fan.

Comparing this current cold indifference to the previous ardent glances, the contrast was an obviously large gap.
