Shrouding the Heavens

22: Bronze Coffin Driving Away Evil Spirits 22: Bronze Coffin Driving Away Evil Spirits Editor: Atlas Studios Everyone’s spirits were completely exhausted.

Just now, their spirits had almost left their bodies; that unrivaled Ancestor Crocodile’s roar had an inconceivable power.

Apparently, it had the power to absorb people’s souls.

If the ancient bronze coffin hadn’t emitted a bizarre metallic vibrato, it wasn’t difficult to imagine what would have happened to everyone here.

The bitter air that filled the sky from the distance seemed like a tsunami as it surged violently.

Although the colossal demon that had broken out of its trap under the Great Thunderchant Temple no longer continued forwards, its imposing aura was still something that people were not able to bear, and their spirits trembled.

An evil air raged, shaking the sky.

Even the sandstorm was momentarily halted by it.

Demonic Qi overflowed from the two lantern-like blood pupils which stared unblinkingly at them.

They weren’t able to clearly see its body; black clouds churned there, hiding the moon and stars and enveloping the sky.

Although it no longer continued forward, this kind of demonic ancestor’s pressure was still not something that ordinary people could bear.

Many people on the five-colored altar felt their limbs go soft and almost collapse.

Even though they were holding divine relics, they still had no way to resist.

Was this the great demon that Buddha had suppressed?

Its existence was something out of the legends, but it actually appeared right in front of their eyes.

It truly did exist and was not far from them, making it seem like they were in a nightmare.

As modern urban people, when had they ever seen such a frightening scene?

Everyone felt that this had to be all fake; everything that they were seeing was simply too hard to believe!

The Ancestor Crocodile that had now escaped its bindings had long since lived countless years.

The world had changed greatly; the Heaven Temple had collapsed and the Great Thunderchant Temple had long since been abandoned.

With gods no longer present, who could possibly suppress it?

“AWOOO!” The Ancestor Crocodile suddenly thunderously howled, sounding just like thousands of thunderclaps ringing in their ears.

Amongst the people present, a portion of them directly collapsed onto the ground.

This wasn’t a real attack; it was just the power of its voice.

However, it still was something people were unable to endure and many people’s ears even started to bleed.

The rustling noise once more sounded out, and outside the five-colored altar, countless divine crocodiles that were packed as densely as possible quickly pierced through the light cover, charging towards the five-colored altar.

The Ancestor Crocodile had ordered these divine Crocodiles to act in this way; it was afraid of the bronze coffin, so it sent its progeny to test it out.

“Get up!

Hurry and get up!” The howl just now had been so powerful that several of them were now on the ground, their ears bleeding.

Their bodies were powerlessly lying on the ground, and they almost couldn’t maintain a hold on the Buddhist items in their hands.

One could imagine just how terrifying that howl had been.

Under everyone’s shouting, the people finally managed to stand up, but two of them were a bit late, and the flood-like mass of the divine Crocodiles directly submerged them.

No miracle occurred.

Two smothered groans were transmitted before the divine relic was knocked out of their hands, and two colorful lives were lost forever.

Blood splashed as the divine crocodiles scrambled to pierce into their heads and torsos.

The white brains appeared especially painful to look at on the contrasting red blood.

The other people simply had no time to help them.

They were surrounded by thousands of divine Crocodiles, and each person was too busy protecting themselves.

Thirteen people had now lost their lives.

There were seventeen people remaining who were also in imminent peril.

Death could descend on any of them at any time.

Resplendent light continued flashing.

Everyone was now using the divine relics in their hands to defend against the surrounding cold-blooded killers, hoping to create a path of life.

Even the weak-natured women had long since forgotten to cry, and they were fighting with their lives at stake.

Every single person sharing a Buddhist item was in a precarious situation due to not having much freedom of movement and having their flexibility restricted.

But a terrifying thing occurred in the end.

“AWOOOO!” In the distance, the Ancestor Crocodile howled.

Seeing that the bronze coffin had no abnormal reaction, its energy towered over the heavens.

Mist covered it as it unhurriedly approached.

Two huge blood-colored eyes glittered in the darkness, appearing like two crimson suns hanging in the sky.

When it closed in on them, everyone found it difficult to stand.

That bitter air surrounding it was definitely formed from the accumulation of slaughtering thousands, causing people’s soul and body to tremble as if their souls wanted to fly out.

The beast was only ten meters away now, but its body was still unclear; only two bloody eyes could be seen, causing everyone to almost give up hope.

Wuuwuu… Suddenly, a demonic wind swept through heaven and earth, as if ghosts were crying and gods were howling, as if thousands of thunderbolts were tearing the heavens and splitting the earth, a sound that was many times more violent than the rage of the sandstorm.

Within the overflowing mist, a huge black hand reached out towards the five-colored altar.

Its shape was similar to a human hand, but it was much too large; just a finger was seven or eight meters long.

It was a sinister black, frightening people to the point that their souls almost departed their bodies.

This was the unrivaled Greater Demon that Buddha had personally suppressed!

Even though it had been sealed for countless years, now that it had escaped it was still world-shaking.

Its might was beyond human comprehension.

At this moment, the Taiji eight trigram diagram in the sky finally completely took form by transforming the divine blood from the divine Crocodiles into energy.

The eight trigram symbols lit up at the same time, emitting a dazzling radiance.

The gate to the starry sky once more appeared!

BOOM!

With a muffled vibration, the Taiji eight trigram diagram’s gate completely opened, revealing a mysterious and immense channel.

The channel was completely pitch-black, and no one knew just where it connected to.

That huge hand was forced to the side by a mysterious force, and at the same time, the nine dragon corpses which had been quietly motionless suddenly began to tremble.

The dragon was an existence on the same level as gods.

Even though they had already turned into corpses, they still could not be blasphemed.

With a powerful dragon Qi circulating, the five-colored altar’s divine crocodiles all began prostrating in fear.

They were shaking in intimidation, and in the end, they retreated like the tide, leaving the altar.

The altar was now covered with crocodile corpses, as well as a few human corpses.

With the retreat of the crocodiles, it was momentarily silent.

“Go!

Get into the bronze coffin!” Ye Fan was the first one to stand up, helping Pang Bo up.

It wasn’t that they were useless people, but that unrivaled Greater Demon was too extraordinary.

Just its imposing look was enough to kill a human.

With just its demonic Qi overflowing through the heavens, it was completely possible for people to be shaken to death.

Everyone got up, their bodies swaying.

Everyone unanimously agreed – they had to enter the huge bronze coffin.

The ancient gate to the starry sky had already been opened, but just relying on their physical bodies, they might not be able to cross the ancient path of the starry sky.

Even though the bronze coffin’s strange nature caused people to be nervous, they had no other choice but to use it.

In the darkness, the Ancestor Crocodile’s eyes became increasingly cold.

The huge blood red eyes that appeared like suns suddenly emitted two glaring blood-colored rays that intersected and sealed the Taiji eight trigram diagram.

Seeing this, everyone’s expression changed!

In the end, this matchless Greater Demon wasn’t willing to leave matters be.

Using a mysterious heavenly demon technique, it sealed the path to the starry sky, stopping people from entering.

At this time, that huge black hand once more reached out, easily penetrating the dim light barrier.

With an overwhelming speed, it entered into the bronze coffin, and everyone stepped back.

The black hand reached out; its goal wasn’t the people, but the bronze coffin!

Qiang!

The huge black hand grabbed onto the bronze coffin with a tinkling sound.

Everyone’s hearts dropped; this matchless Ancestor Crocodile’s magical power overflowed the heavens, and without Buddha, it was practically impossible to suppress it.

If the mysterious bronze coffin still continued to have no reaction, everyone truly had to way to deal with it.

While everyone was feeling horrified, the Ancestor Crocodile’s huge hand quickly retreated like a snake.

Its palm and fingers were unexpectedly covered with rivers of bright demonic blood which dripped onto the altar.

Apparently, it had been injured by the huge bronze coffin.

But the ancient coffin still showed no activity, and was still as calm as it had ever been.

A cold laugh came from close by; this was the sound of the Ancestor Crocodile raging, causing people’s scalp to turn numb.

“What do we do now?

This huge demon has sealed the ancient path of the starry sky.

How can we leave?” Many people were now terrified.

The hope that they could escape had now been sealed shut, causing people to become alarmed and nervous.

“Energy…now we need more of the mysterious energy to open the ancient path of the starry sky!” “What’s going on?

Our divine relics are constantly losing light…” Some people shouted in alarm.

At this moment, whether it was Ye Fan’s ancient lamp, Pang Bo’s Great Thunderchant Temple copper plaque, or Zhou Yi and the other’s alms bowl and such, their divine light was steadily flowing away and converging together.

Suddenly, a cold laugh like an owl’s cry sounded.

Just outside the huge bronze coffin appeared a two-meter tall person’s figure; everyone was truly shocked, as all the light from the divine relics were attacking here.

This figure’s demonic Qi soared, and the surrounding black mist churned so that its appearance could not be seen.

But everyone could sense that this was definitely the Ancestor Crocodile!

He unexpectedly appeared on top of the altar, wanting to enter the huge bronze coffin.

He ignored everyone, his two blood-colored eyes looking straight at the coffin.

BOOOM!!!

Facing the unrivaled Ancestor Crocodile’s demonic Qi, all the divine relics seemed to ignite, their divine light flowing out and converging together to envelop the Ancestor Crocodile.

At the same time, the bronze lamp, the Great Thunderchant Temple bronze plaque, the alms bowl, the vajra scepter, the bamboo fish drum, and all the other Buddhist items lit up in a brilliant light that autonomously soared together, before going to suppress the Ancestor Crocodile!

A cold and eerie sneer sounded, causing people’s bones to tremble.

The unrivaled Ancestor Crocodile gently vibrated, and its body immediately burst forth with a black light as a devilish flame roared.

All the Buddhist items were locked in front of it.

With a cracking sound, the praying mat, the ferule, and some of the other Buddhist items shattered one after another.

A total of four divine relics all broke into pieces.

Four Buddhist items became four dazzling lights that completely dissipated on the gate to the starry sky above the altar, supplying it a formidable amount of mysterious energy.

The nine titanic dragon corpses all trembled, and with a rumbling sound, they slowly began to rise into the air!

The Ancestor Crocodile was startled, retreating from the ancient bronze lamp and the other remaining divine relics.

Flying towards the sky, its right hand quickly enlarged.

It covered heaven and earth, grabbing onto the nine huge dragon corpses.

At this moment, the ancient bronze lamp, the Great Thunderchant Temple copper plaque, and the other divine relics all seemed to gain a spirit of their own, each releasing an extremely blazing divine light that was so bright, people were unable to open their eyes.

The light rushed forward, engulfing the Ancestor Crocodile.

Countless rays of light shone in an incomparable splendor that caused people to be unable to see clearly.

The nine dragon corpses were temporarily stopped by the Ancestor Crocodile.

Dong, dong… A clear, crisp sound came from the sacrificial altar, and the sarira prayer beads, the Great Thunderchant Temple copper plaque, the alms bowl, and all the rest of the divine relics fell, each becoming dim.

Even the ancient bronze lamp’s light was extinguished.

“The nine dragon corpses have been stopped, what do we do?” Everyone was very anxious.

The huge bronze coffin couldn’t fly into the sky with the nine dragon corpses stopped, so they couldn’t enter the gate to the starry sky.

Everyone walked out of the bronze coffin.

They quickly picked up the dim Buddhist items that had fallen to the ground.

Pang Bo also swiftly took the water bottles from the corpses.

Ye Fan took off his jacket and picked up a bunch of the crocodile carcasses.

Just at this moment, a strong vibration came from the sky, shocking everyone into quickly dashing back into the bronze coffin.

The huge bronze coffin emitted a metallic buzzing sound, and the nine dragon corpses unexpectedly swung their huge tails.

With a banging noise, they all smashed the Ancestor Crocodile’s huge black hand, forcing it back.

BOOM!!!

A loud sound came from the sky, and the nine dragon corpses slowly began to soar towards the gate to the starry sky.

With a clanging noise, the huge bronze coffin shook and rolled over, causing everyone to feel like the sky had become the ground.

The Ancestor Crocodile’s blood-colored eyes were incomparably cold.

Before the coffin’s lid completely closed, he actually wanted to charge in again; his goal was the same as ever, the coffin within the coffin!

But at this moment, the ancient people and gods that were carved into the rusted walls of the coffin, as well as the carvings of the great desolate beasts and barbarian animals, all began to circulate with a hazy light, causing the Ancestor Crocodile to stop in its tracks.

It seemed to recall something, and its two eyes emitted a sinister and cold bloody light before it quickly retreated a couple steps.

With a clanging sound, the bronze coffin’s lid closed, and the nine dragon corpses began to slowly pull the inner and outer coffins towards the sky.

They broke through the Ancestor Crocodile’s blood-colored seal, entering into the gate to the starry sky.
