Chapter 557: The Unbound

[The Boundless opens its Unbound eyes upon your bound existence]

[The Boundless looks down upon your bound existence in disgust]

[The Boundless remembers ???’s words but refuses to listen to any of them]

[The Boundless says it shall not allow its Unbound eyes to gaze upon a bound existence]

[The Limit Breaker is about to resume its slumber]

Anthony read the notifications from beginning to end without so much as blinking. But when he got to the last one, he frowned.

He had ignored the Limit Breaker calling him a bound existence, but now it was about to go back to sleep without paying any rent? Anthony wouldn’t allow that. After all, even Romulus paid rent.

”Mr. Unbound,” Anthony said, staring at the system panel. ”Don’t you think your name is a little too flashy for someone who is bound to my soul?”

[The Boundless’ half-closed Unbound eyes open fully]

[The Boundless’ pride flares in defiance]

[The Unbound says it is simply here to sleep]

Anthony smiled and replied, ”Then you should pay some rent. You can’t just come here and sleep whenever you want.”

[The Boundless marvels at your audacity and wonders if it should simply end your bound existence here and now]

The moment Anthony read those words, a terrifying sense of existential crisis echoed from every fiber of his being. Before he could speak, the system panel flickered, and new text appeared.

[The Boundless says it’s too lazy to argue with ??? after killing you. It shall pay rent now and will pay again whenever it wakes up]

The existence crisis that screamed through Anthony’s body vanished in a blink, like it had never been there at all.

Anthony touched his chest and felt the cold sweat that had appeared from nowhere. His clothes were drenched. He frowned as he remembered the system’s earlier description: ”The most egotistical being ??? ever created. Listens to no one.”

”What a troublesome reward.” Anthony muttered with a long sigh.

He didn’t know how long the Limit Breaker would sleep, was it a year? A thousand years? He had no clue.

’What matters now is that the being said it would pay rent every time it wakes up,’ Anthony concluded with another sigh.

[The Boundless has decided to pay its first rent]

[The Boundless looks down on this Bound Galaxy in disgust]

[The Boundless has begun to forcefully ascend you to a higher galaxy]

At the notification, Anthony instantly felt everything shift. Space around him was dyed white in pure brilliance, followed by a dazzling spectrum of colors, like a shattered rainbow bursting through reality itself.

[Ding]

[??? has interfered]

Anthony suddenly felt himself being pulled out of that shifting state. Clarity returned, and his eyes focused once more on his familiar room.

His gaze shifted back to the system panel.

[??? warns The Boundless not to fast-forward his show]

[The Boundless is simply too lazy and agrees]

[The Boundless has decided to reduce its rent payment for now due to interference]

[The Boundless stares at your mana rank]

[The Boundless has decided to shatter the limits on it]

[Ding]

[The system has created a barrier]

With a roar, Anthony felt mana explode through his form with maddening intensity. His entire body felt hot, his muscles, bones, and fibers all strengthening and tightening. His mana core expanded rapidly, and mana surged into him with overwhelming force, as though trying to drown him in its power.

But Anthony didn’t feel pain.

Instead, he felt serene, calm, almost blissful. His body rejoiced as his mana rank ascended.

[Ding]

[The Host has stepped into the Zenith rank]

[Level 1.. Level 2... Level 3... Level 6... Level 9]

BOOM.

Mana thundered through the room once more in a shocking explosion, as though still unsatisfied.

Anthony remained in his trance-like state, caught in the surrealism of it all.

[The Host’s limits have been broken once more]

[The Host has stepped into the Hyperion rank]

[Level 1.. Level 2... Level 3... Level 6... Level 9]

[The Boundless stares down at the breakthrough process and says it hasn’t seen anyone break through like this since its last slumber. It would love to watch one more time]

Anthony, who had started to return from his trance, suddenly felt himself being pulled once again.

[The Boundless has shattered the Host’s limits once more]

[The Host has stepped into the Transcendent rank]

[Level 1.. Level 2... Level 3... Level 6... Level 9]

With the final notification, the barrier around the room dissolved, and the roaring mana vanished alongside it. Anthony landed gently on his bed.

He instantly rose to his feet, his mind reeling in shock as he tried to process what had just happened.

’I just jumped three entire mana ranks... and twenty-seven levels?’ Anthony thought in disbelief.

He could feel it, his body brimming with power. His mana had expanded to an absolutely incredible degree.

Anthony couldn’t believe his eyes.

’Can such a thing really exist?’ he wondered.

A wide grin broke across his face. He wanted to grab his katana and go on a demon hunting spree immediately.

[The Boundless stares at your Sense Dome]

[The Boundless blinks and shatters the limits of your Sense Dome and forcefully upgrades it]

Before Anthony could even register the changes, another system notification arrived.

[The Boundless looks down at your Human Bloodline in disgust]

[The Boundless has forcefully broken the chains of your High Human Bloodline and upgrades it to a Perfect Human Bloodline]

[The Boundless stares at the Infinity skill. The Boundless has shattered the skill’s limits with a sigh]

’Isn’t this a bit too much?’ Anthony thought, staring at the barrage of notifications with a mix of disbelief and joy.

[The Boundless says it can’t stay awake any longer. Its eyes are closing]

[The Boundless has managed to complete its rent before slumber claimed it]

[The Boundless has rewarded the Host with a new Authority]

The last notification was no different than a star eruption in Anthony’s mind.

’A fucking new Authority’ Anthony screamed in his mind.
